Came here to the Bull Creek Cafe and Grill for the first time . I told Joe , my waiter that this was my first time here and he said nothing as he set down the menu . I ordered a chicken fried steak with loaded baked potato and a salad . Salad came first , then the Food came out and it looked great . The chicken fried steak was pretty chewy and the meat was much smaller than the coating , cream gravy was good as was the potato. I would've asked for an additional roll but they charge you for them . It seems that Joe wasn't a waiter , maybe he was filling in because he just wasn't enthused about anything . I heard great things about this place and the chicken fried steaks .... I might try this place again another time , perhaps when they're busier . read more

First off, Walking in the layout and atmosphere was very western/ olden days bar kind of feeling. As well as great service right off the bat. Waiter was very kind and organized. We started with 2 appetizers, chips and dip (w queso), and the southwest egg rolls. The chips to queso ratio wasn't the greatest, we finished the chips off fast with plenty of queso to spare, which lead us to order more chips. The egg rolls were good but I feel the outer breading was very under cooked, not crispy as I feel egg rolls should be. However, they were still solid, and I rate the C.A.Q. A 5/10, and the egg rolls a 6/10. I ordered the steak salad for my main. Wait time was pretty normal for a standard restaurant. The steak salad was solid all around, steak was good and salad was a normal salad, nothing special. I rate it a solid 7.5/10. Overall the restaurant was very nice and there is many other menu options with a variety of different cuisines. My overall rating of the restaurant will be a 7.3/10. read more

Never had a disappointing meal from here. Get the onion rings if you're a fan of onion rings. Get the chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak. So huge and so delish. Don't go here if you're on a diet - you're gonna want allll the gooood stuff that may not be great for your waistline but it will put a smile on your face for sure. Better than I had expected for sure.. part of that "expected" is because the place is unassuming. By looking at the outside or inside, it doesn't look that special. And that's fine. I have to admit I wasn't too excited about stopping here on our drive from San Antonio. But OMG their food was freaking delicious! Rolls were fresh, hot, and slightly sweet. The salad was great. No cheap iceberg. The salmon was one of the best I've ever had! Perfect spices and a unique sundried tomato topping. I splurged with Mac and cheese as a side. Even it had herbs in it. The chef here obviously cares greatly about their kitchen. Others have mentioned slow service but on a Tuesday at 2 service was quick. Our server was friendly to boot. My 3 year old daughter was holding it at our table and the waitress comes and snatches it and says 'that's our decor'-- From a holiday 7 days ago!!?? One of the better places to get some nice Homestyle country cooking in the Houston area with delicious chicken fried steaks and homemade goods, and it's not too expensive either. I took my husband for a ride today up to the town of Rosenberg, TX, where we found this cozy cafe called Bull Creek Cafe & Grill. Why not give it a try? So we did. We decided to share plates so I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and sweet potato fries. For our second shared dish, we went with a dinner plate: Sirloin steak, baked potatoes, and salad. One roll was included, but it was so good I ordered an extra helping (for an extra fee). The rolls were homemade and came with REAL BUTTER! The salad was delicious. The produce was all fresh, not bagged stuff. And the dressing was homemade. I would come back just for the salad! The burger was outstanding; cooked the way I ordered and had a wonderful flavor. And it was on one of those delicious rolls! The sweet potato rolls were the best I've had in a while! For me the sirloin was the only negative thing and that is probably because I am used to eating filet mignon out. I ordered the steak cooked medium (my first mistake) and it came out medium - so just as I ordered. But it was chewy and a bit tough to eat. The flavor was fine, but for me it just was not what I was hoping for. I also ordered a side of 4 grilled shrimp. They were very good; definitely would get them again. The baked potato was excellent - lots of goodies on top. Best of all, Joe, our server was excellent. I asked him back for cocktail sauce, more napkins, lemons, extra rolls, and onions. Instead of getting flustered and made, he was always cheerful and helpful. Definitely one of the greats in the server business. Stopped in for lunch after completing some business in Rosenberg. What a great decision! My husband had Chicken Fried Steak and I had Chicken Fried Chicken. We both had iced tea. The food was beyond excellent. Well worth that wait. It was busy and took a while for our food to come out but it was well worth the wait. The reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because after getting home and taking a closer look at the receipt, I noticed we were charged for our refills for tea. REALLY?? At $3.50 for tea we have to pay for refills?? Our glasses weren't even empty when we asked for the refill. The waitress was so busy that we saw an opportunity to ask for more before we were totally empty. I looked at the menu online to be sure if it was mentioned that refills were or were not charged extra. It did not indicate either way. We eat out a lot and have never been charged for a tea refill. The waitress asked if we wanted to take a tea to go. Glad we said no or I guess it would have been another $7.00 for two teas to go! I thought the bill was a bit high but my husband is a big tipper so I figured it was because of the tip. Could this have been an error on the part of the waitress, to charge for refills?? EDIT: I heard back from the Manager, Mel, and it turns out it was a mistake on the part of the waitress. They were extremely busy and it was an honest mistake. I tried to respond to Mel's message to me through Yelp, but for whatever reason, it would not go through. I just wanted to thank him very much for correcting the error and tell all who read this that this establishment is well worth trying. I don't live close but I hope to visit again in the near future. Been here several times. Food was definitely an A/B+. It's good! Last time I had a hamburger and the cooked just the way I liked it ( medium well ). Also, had the chicken fried steak it also is good. The fries and mashed potatoes were crispy and hot and creamy, respectively. It came with a salad which was cold and crisp! A reasonably large menu for a tavern with higher but reasonable prices. They do have a bar and a good menu of drinks and beer. Just good tasting food. Service was good to excellent. Have not tried this during a busy time, but we never had a problem and were also seated immediately. This is a small cafe with wooden chairs and booths, it made for the relaxed good conversation. It's plain Jane for ambiance, a few memorable and lit beer signs but other that its not a place that going to stir deep past memories. Could I recommend this, yes. Found this by a search near Sugar Land for "Steak", wanted something different. Appears to be a little hole-in-the-wall, but the food was fantastic! Portion sizes are very good! Taste was fantastic, will definitely be going back!! Only negative I noticed is the employees seemed to be "on their own", not helping each other fill teas/water, etc....
