My Son and wife visited yesterday from Corpus Christi. He wanted to treat everyone to lunch and after searching a little on Yelp, chose Baytown Seafood. Everyone wanted fried dishes from the online menu except my wife who wanted a burger. I would love to give this restaurant a decent review but the food was really bad. Even the burger was not eaten. The cooking oil left a greasy paraffin coating in the mouth which was disgusting. The majority of the meal went in the trash. read more

I come here just about every month or so and my go place especially during lent. We love it here food always hot and best catfish and shrimp around. Not to mention they are fast with their service. Went in for the first time today. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, grilled Mahi and Shrimp, and an order of the fried catfish. Everything was very good, but the catfish was my favorite! Service was quick and we did not feel rushed during our visit. We will definitely be back. read more

Went back another day to try the chicken fried steak and crab cakes. Chicken fried steak comes with choice of brown or white gravy. The white gravy was good with a peppery kick to it. My friend and I agreed that the seafood was nonetheless the star. We ordered in addition to the half chicken fried steak dinner, a stuffed crab and 6 shrimp dinner - they both come with salad and fries. Also ordered two crab cakes and one more stuffed crab. Now we can sample crab two ways with shrimp and chicken fried steak. The stuffed crab was better then last time and we preferred it over the crab cake - which was still good - although some may not like the hard exterior texture due to frying. Absolutely horrible. Fried frozen food with a nasty frozen taste. Every single item was frozen and not fresh. Waste of money. Never again!

Well I decided to take a chance on this place since I was in the area. I ordered the grilled salmon with shrimp and a side of crawfish. The overall meal was acceptable . I was surprised how fast the food came out less than 10 minutes. That's a record , they were slow so maybe that's why it was out so quick. The food was tasty based on its price point. This is ain't no Pappadeaux or Oceanaire . But if you looking for some cheap seafood that's fairly decent then this place is a go. Another thing I did not like was the waiter was not very attentive. We were brought here for lunch and I decided to try something new. I ordered the crawfish étouffée and thought it was good. I haven't had étouffée before, so I don't have anything to compare it to but it was good and creamy. My favorite though was the grilled shrimp. I got a side order of three grilled shrimp to try and it was really good, I would order the six piece next time. The service was excellent! Our waiter was attentive and our food was served timely. I had family in town for spring break and we were looking at seafood places near my area and decided to go here. I never leave reviews but this one I just had to. It's 5mins from home, price was great you definitely get a lot for your money! And let me just say the boil shrimp with the Garlic sauce was just amazingly delicious. Crab legs was so tasty! Compare to other seafood places this has to be the best prices you would ever pay for seafood and I am a foodie. We had a great meal here, that is, for fried seafood. I had tried their grilled dishes at other locations and all had been decent, but only been here once and all we got was fried. So the review is strictly on that. The appetizer crab stuffed jalapenos were really yummy, not spicy nor small. We ordered fried shrimp and oysters, which were good sizes and not greasy like I had expected. The salad was easily forgetful, but I didn't mind it, considering their prices and their great portions. Service was also great. The only thing was that the dirty rice was more like fried rice, otherwise perhaps 5 stars. So: great meal for fried seafood. read more

It's not Red Lobster or Pappadeaux's but its good seafood for a very reasonable price. I've had the grilled and fried options for the fish and they both were very good. The portions are large for the price and the wait staff is quick and helpful. The restaurant may not be fancy or flashy but it is neat as a pin and kept clean. The restroom is small but very clean. The food does not all taste the same which can happen with fried foods so it tells me the oil is changed regularly and not reused. For the money it is a nice meal for a great price. Hey this place is pretty good! Have driven by so many times and decided to stop for lunch yesterday. I had grilled flounder, dirty rice , and grilled veggies. Came out hot and was very good. Hubs had fried shrimp, oysters and fries. He made a yummy sound. Dinner salad was fresh but meh will try cole slaw next time. Saltines on the table! Service was fast. Greeted and seated right away. I like this place. There really isnt one particular reason why. I like the fact that locals go here, that it isnt in the slightest a fancy place, the prices are reasonable, and the clientel are of the older generation (to put it nicely). I have ordered fried fish, shrimp etc and for about $30 I was able to feed 6 adults and 2 kids (we made the side fix'ns at home) which I thought was good. This is more of a fry bar then anything . Knowing that I like the food. Nothing fancy and they do a good job with what they know. If you want fancy done 1/2 right go to the other place down the road 1 mile I order out may times and pick up on my way home when I find my work has me out that way. Never been shorted on food and always hot when I pick it up. Once I got tied up and was late getting there....they remade to order. The restaurant itself is not fancy, but down home and clean. Service (when I eat in) some how the wait staffs are able to keep my tea and water glass form being empty. The manager has no problem picking up a pitcher and filling glasses. (yes I do drink more then2 of their glasses {around 36 oz} of tea) Just be careful when pulling out heading east...the traffic coming over the bridge flies and cannot see you. Ok, so since I seem to always enjoy this place, I brought a large group of people here for dinner on a Saturday night. I was so disappointed that I'm not sure I'll return. Half the people in our group ordered fried food, and they were OK with what they received. The other half ordered blackened seafood and those people didn't even ear theirs. I ordered flounder and other than the spices not tasting good, the fish was horrible. It tasted like dirt...which I'm sure just meant the fish was really old. Another person got salmon and her's was like leather and also had a bad taste from the seasonings. The other was mahi and he didn't like it either.
