It was a little tricky to find at first since it shares the space with other bars. For a beer garden, the selection felt a bit limited, but the drinks we had were good. There were also a couple of food trucks on site, which made it super convenient to grab a bite without leaving. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially considering how busy it was. Overall, a solid spot to hang out, catch a game or fight, and enjoy some drinks.

Nothing but 49ers jerseys and flags and the game on everywhere! Lots of covered seating, great deck, love all the decor, and all of it in great condition. The outdoor area off the deck has some areas for kids to play, but it's best for older kids. Seesaws are metal and fun, but there is no fence to keep those kiddos corralled in which I know some people look for. Parking was limited, and there were kids playing games and football in the parking lot which made me a little nervous, and they were playing with footballs that I could see hitting a car. The food trucks that night were limited, but the Mediterranean food truck was good! Nice falafel, a solid chicken shawarma salad, and hand dipped onion rings and mozzarella sticks that the kiddos definitely enjoyed. It looks like they have a burger truck too, but it was not open that night. The game volume on high, nice patrons, solid layout for the space they have, nicely maintained, friendly staff that make you feel like you've come there for years, all adds up to another great experience on Manchaca Rd!

When we were poking around looking for breweries in the area on Yelp we came across The Shady Llama! This place doesn't make their own beer but they have lots of guest taps for breweries in the surrounding area. It's a good variety of beers to choose from and it looks like there is at least one food truck available sometimes in case you get hungry. The main draw for why we came here was to see the llamas and indeed we dis see some. One of them gave us some attitude and then sauntered off down a hill, taking it's less moody companion with it. They were funny and with the attitude I got and the name of the place I posted the Eminem song "My Name Is" where the lyrics "Slim Shady" get mentioned on Instagram because I thought it was all quite fitting. In addition to seeing the llamas we saw a great view of Hill Country. There was a lot of seating when we were here and could pick pretty much anywhere we wanted to sit. But I'm sure the place can get busy... the location and those llamas are reason enough. Cold beer, moody llamas and beautiful Hill Country... definitely worth the stop!

We went yesterday afternoon and its a really nice property with tons of space. They have a cool stage area, a playground, several tables near the bar with view of the tv and some open inside space next to cornhole. I want to say they had about 8 of other breweries beers on tap (real ale bock and Pinthouse Scorpion Disco are the two I remember) and then they also had cocktails and 2 of their own beers: an amber, and then what I got: the tangerine cream ale. I thought it was pretty good which was surprising as usually, new breweries take a bit to get things figured out. It would be a solid beer for a warm day. The bartender was friendly and they also had a bbq truck on site that smelled delicious but we didn't have time to check-out this time. The only negative I'd say is there is zero inside space with A/C, its all open air. That's not a dealbreaker for me but as its only going to get even hotter, I'm curious how it will impact their business.

Dog friendly and kind of a tree house on the hill vibe. The food truck was closed when we got there, but they had an event for Mother's day, so my guess was they sold out. I had a Tipsy Blond (named for the Brewery's cat who I saw peeking out the window!) The beer was good and flavorful. I especially like that the menu includes the IBU value for each beer as I prefer beers with little bitterness. After I ordered beer, I flipped the menu over to discover many more cocktail and wine options! We had Rueben's, turkey burger or the regular burger and we all enjoyed the food. My tots were sprinkled with a peppery seasoning that gave them a bit of kick and they were very crispy. I'd suggest them over the fries which were not as crisp. The outdoor seating was cooled by a nice breeze. There is a small indoor bar. The main entrance is on the side street but is also accessible from Castell Ave. I can see enjoying another evening here!

At one time cotton was grown here until a boll weevil infestation wiped out the crops. Anyhow, I could hear live music emanating from this dance hall. Some of our family entered the hall because they needed to use the restrooms. We waited while listening to some good, live country music. I could see it was a very relaxed, casual, & family oriented gathering place. Then I found out this dance hall is one of the oldest in Texas! My husband and his family have fond memories of being at dance halls. This was so interesting to me because it's such a different culture from mine. We didn't have dance halls in the Philippines or California. There is a bar you pass by to get beer and other spirits. I don't as told that locals & visitors will leisurely hang out here. When we walked in, I see the pictures of popular artists and performers who had been at this place posted at its reception wall. We happened to catch a nice band playing country songs that we liked on our visit. It would be nice if they have open up the dance floor but I guess it's only during nighttime visit that they do that. You could place an order of drinks or an appetizer while watching the show. Or if you feel like staying in the bar, where you could still hear the band , you are welcome to do so . How cool is that ? The location is in a busy community street and popular small town. It's worth swinging by during a visit in this area.
