Stayed the night in Henrietta and found this place for dinner. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We ordered corn bites for an appetizer, which we all shared and enjoyed. Our table ordered the chicken fried chicken (the gravy was superb), a burger, and a grilled chicken salad. Everyone was happy with their selections. We asked for dessert recommendations and was told the bread pudding was best. I was glad to hear that because banana pudding with mills wafers wasn't going to cut it. Turns out the bread pudding was very tasty. It wasn't like the New Orleans bread pudding we are used to, but that's ok. We enjoyed it very much. I'm not sure what rendition of chicken fried steak this is supposed to be, but its pretty awful. every establishment I've ever eaten this simple entree, it's consisted of tenderized cube steak pan/ or deep fried in a crisp breading, like chicken. I forgot that I had tried this place before , but as soon as I took bite, the horrid experience and flavor hit me.. The breading was only crispy on the outside, gooey and soft on the inside , with a flavor I didn't know was possible to accomplish with onion powder. I thought some one was just having a bad day last time. No , it's consistent. One bite and all you can taste is this pungent onion substance sticking to everything part of your palette, it burns the sinuses a little , like eating a piece of Red Onion only it doesn't taste good. None of this helps the meat inside, which is very chewy, full of sinew and gritty , like it's been freezer burnt. Served with a side of generic powdered gravy like what you would get at a Dairy Queen only not as good and watered down. This place could learn a thing or two from Dairy Queen, their deep fried frozen pre made chicken fried steak is astounding compared to this inedible dish. Then moving to my beef and blue cheese salad , hoping to eat some part of my lunch still, opened it up and it looked quite appeaI guess, the meat cooked medium rare as ordered, thinly sliced and placed on top of a mixed green salad, the blue cheese crumble was more blue cheese crumbs than crumble. if you didn't know what you ordered you would have wondered if it was grainy feta. But all and all not a horrible presentation, not representative of the price by any means. I opened the blue cheese dressing to drizzled across the beef and greens , and it just poured like a glass of water with some blue cheese crumbs in the bottom of the container. It was so watered down it ran instantly through the lettuce and just left some powdery substance the beef. I ate the beef at that point which was so bland , that whatever they were claiming was blue cheese made no difference as the flavor was washed out of the cheese itself as well . This place may have been good at one time, but I've eaten there twice in six months, and for the life of me can't figure out how they are able to keep the doors open . I've eaten all but one or two places in Henrietta, Bull Malarkeys is by far the worst two dining experiences I've had in that town, if i could rate them less than one star I would . I would have been better off lighting that money on fire , then getting an Alsups burrito. i would have had something palatable to eat for lunch and I wouldn't still be trying to get rid of the vile taste of that chicken fried steak burning my sinuses. i could not serve that food to people for free , much less charge anyone to eat it. read more

Hubs ordered chicken fried steak with mashed taters and beans. I ordered cowboy corn bites and he ordered chips and salsa. The cowboy corn bites were out of this world. Loved them. Wish there had been more than 7 for 8 bucks. The chips and salsa were ok. The chips to me were too thick. On to the meal. My chicken fried chicken was soooo hot. I finished every bite of the potatoes (yes real, not fake) and the beans. I cannot rave enough about the beans. They are outstanding. They have a little spice and perfectly cooked. Hubs is pretty picky when it comes to chicken fried steak. He said it was the best he has ever had. That means something. The man is not easy to impress. How lucky were we to find this yummy place on our way to Amarillo. We use yelp to guide us on most road trips. I thought we may be out of luck when they asked if we had reservations. No we didn't but the hostess/owner was great to accommodate us. The appetizers were a great start but the meal to have was the ribeye steak! So good! We were on our RV journey thru Texas and got off 287, into the small town of Henrietta, and stopped into Bull Malarkey's, and it was a welcome retreat. Stacie was our server, and was helpful in guiding us to the better hooves when I could not decide between 2 choices, great appetizers and the beef burger and chicken were fabulous. The front room is cute, probably 6 tables at best, but after the meal, found they have a huge bar in the back, so it's small establishment but gets better. Come across this little gem, while on a road trip! Let me tell you, it was amazing. The owner took care of us, as soon as we walked in. She told us it would be a wait, but kept checking and giving us up dates. She was kind and told us about some of the favorites on the menu. Unfortunately, they had been very busy and were out of the deep fried baby back ribs. My husband was disappointed, but ordered the chicken fry and was very pleased with that.
