I love Bulla! It's one of those places that is consistently good every time I come. They honestly have some of the best croquetas I've had anywhere. Perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with a slightly sweet sauce on the side that pairs so well with them. They're definitely one of the things I look forward to ordering whenever I'm here. The tapas, cheeses, and small plates are always good, and they make a great sangria too. Personally, I enjoy Bulla most as a place to grab drinks and order a bunch of lighter bites to share rather than for a traditional sit-down dinner. Each time delicious food, quality fast service whether the restaurant is full or not. Super clean, light music in the background. This time that I went I tried their brunch special which is 2 or 3 courses for a set price. I had the 3 course for $27. I had the ham croquettes, the pintxo y tostada de aguacate & the flan de coco with passion fruit sorbet. We ordered a pitcher of white sangria which was enough for 2 cups each for 3 people. I came before for brunch,but we mainly had tapas & the sangria the server was more generous with the sangria than this time. Bulla Coral Gables is one of my go-to brunch spots. The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are great, and their prix fixe menu is hard to beat for both variety and value. Because of proximity, a recent brunch with friends ended up at the Doral location instead. Huge mistake. Never again. The food was mediocre, but the service was truly terrible. Our waiter was completely inept. Everything took forever. I had to physically get up and look for him three separate times. Finished plates sat on the table until we finally pointed them out. Every dish arrived at a different time, so someone was always waiting, and by the time we could all start eating, at least one plate was cold. At one point, the wrong drink was brought to me. I mentioned it to the runner, only for the waiter to return not with the correct drink, but with the same wrong one to question me about it. No. Stop wasting my time and just bring what I ordered. Maybe if he were less focused on chatting with the waitstaff, he would have gotten it right. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience that couldn't be more different from the Coral Gables location. Same name. Completely different standards. read more

I've been to the one in Orlando and so I thought I'd check the place out here. Absolutely delicious. They have a great happy hour from 5 to 7 PM in the bar only. I always get tapas and their meat and cheese (charcuterie e fromage), and the gambas al ajillo and patatas bravas. Those are my staples. But be warned! The portions are small. It is very easy to think "I am only ordering 3 dishes and 1 drink) and suddenly the bill is $50. That being said, there is paid off street parking right next to the restaurant (pay by phone), outdoor seating, and attentative servers. I'm not ever thinking "where is my server? I want another xyz!" It is a cute restaurant, clean and with a good ambiance. An eclectic crowd of those in their mid 20's to those in their 50s, etc. Legitimately, I've never tried the dinner, only the tapas. One day maybe I will go for the entrees, but the tapas are just so good! That includes the albondigas. And the drinks are quite boozy! read more

The service was exquisite, the ambience was European pace with a modern urgency, and the food was to die for. What I love about this place is that you can order tapa after tapa and taste everything on the menu u for a very reasonable price. The croquetas are bechamel heaven with Serrano ham. These took me back to Madrid. The grilled octopus was cooked to perfection and just tender enough. I could go on and on but please look at the pictures and order it all. The impressive part is that it's not just the main ingredient in the tapa that's amazing but the accompaniments as well. You CANNOT go wrong. I can honestly say that I loved EVERYTHING. It's all fresh and served with love. The attention was amazing and we loved the detail on getting as staff card. The co-owner was there and he came by to personally greet us more than once. The servers work together, the kitchen is on point and it shows that it's all done with love. Dear Bulla Gastrobar---BOTTLE THAY FIG JAM!! I ate it with the croquetas, the dates and the octopus. The food itself was tasty. Thank goodness. I ordered a kale Caesar salad. However, my friends got their food first, ceviche and an egg dish from the brunch menu. I waited quite a while and then when I asked, they brought the salad out, but it had no grilled chicken as stated on the menu. Before we could ask a waiter, about 5 minutes later, a runner comes up to the table and hands us a piece of chicken breast on a small plate. Just a very unappealing process. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. I didn't love the service. Besides our initial order being taken, nobody came to check on us and see how we were doing, we had to constantly be looking around to ask someone for more water or assistance. Managed to try a Banana Old Fashioned and it was good but I wish it had a little more a banana. Our group shared appetizers and they were delicious! Our server was nice and came to our table often to check up on us. If you are a burger fan, try theirs. You can't go wrong. Their cocktails were pretty solid, also. As an appetizer we odrdered the calamari and the montaditos and they were amazing. It's hard to find decent calamari. These were fresh and crispy although they were a little salty in some parts. The montaditos were also delicious. For my main course I ordered the bistec à la parrilla. Taste wise - it was delicious. Im sure it would've been better if it was actually hot. Parking was a breeze in the connecting garage. Although I entered the garage, I found it easier to park in the lot that the garage was connected to. You still need to get a ticket to get in and don't forget to ask the restaurant to validate your parking! We sat outside since the weather was still pretty chilly this time of the year and our server, Ricardo, was super friendly and prompt. He consistently checked to see if we were doing good and the food all came out super fast. We ordered the carbonara, the huevos Bulla, and the datiles rellenos. I did not even know it was happy hour when I got there but to my delight it was. They have great prices for wine and different cocktails. My albariño was delicious. I wanted something light to eat so I got the jalapeño ceviche. In my opinion it was a little too acidic, but I still enjoyed it. Brunch at Bulla? 5/5!! They have a brunch prix fixe menu for $31 that is worth every penny! Brings an appetizer, main course & a dessert. Honestly by the time the dessert came out, I was stuffed! The quality and taste of the food is spectacular. For an additional $22 you can get unlimited mimosas and/or sangrias. I had the Tostada de Aguacate to start. The avocado!! Wow! So fresh, and the seasoning on it was excellent! Probably my favorite dish of the day. Next I had the Chicken & Waffles. Chicken was perfectly crisped and juicy, but I thought the waffles needed more flavor. Some powdered sugar would've done the trick. For dessert I had the Torrija. The mascarpone ice cream!! It was my first time trying that flavor of ice cream and it left me speechless! So good!! To drink I had the Horchata! It was so refreshing and sweet! Loved that it comes in a wine glass, so I felt like I was part of the crew! We had the best server, Ricardo. I ate dinner here while visiting for work meetings. The service was excellent. The food was ok. The salmon was a bit overcooked. I started with a salmon carpaccio which was pretty tasty. I was interested in the tuna tartare but it is not gluten free and I was told it can't be made GF. I then had the salmon, as I mentioned, it was overcooked and a bit dry. They have some decent looking desserts but most are not GF so I had the sorbet and an espresso martini.
