I took my brand new 2025 Porsche Boxster GTS to Bulletproof for her glow up. Bulletproof previously worked on my husband's car so we are returning customers with super high expectations - that they blew away. I received my 2023 Civic Type R with paint swirls off the dealer lot in November. Bottom line on top: In my experience, Bulletproof Auto Spa (BPAS) is a pretty special organization that does wonderful work. When I bought my _previous_ (used) car and discovered things like ceramic coating and paint protection film to protect the paint and keep the car looking shiny & pretty for a long time, I got an estimate for those services from BPAS via Unplugged Performance, where I was getting some other work done on the car. I balked at the cost and ended up getting a basic polish and ceramic coating job from another, lower-cost detailer in the LA area - who didn't do the best job (exterior of the car not even clean, swirl marks in paint still visible). You get what you pay for! With my current, brand new car, I wasn't going to make that mistake again. I brought it in to BPAS right away and Sean went over the whole car with me, checking the paint thickness and discussing options for protection & beautification. I ended up going with front end PPF, window tint, and full ceramic coating - and the results are WONDERFUL. The car looks absolutely amazing, and should stay looking amazing for a long time! In addition, pretty early on, Sean discovered an issue with the paint on my car's hood. It had seemingly been repainted - or re-clear-coated, anyway - likely at the dealer or at the port of entry to the US, and the work done wasn't so great: little marks remained all over, as well as a subtle tape line. Oof! This wasn't something noticeable during delivery of the car, but it was clearly visible once the car was super clean and under the BPAS lighting. Long story slightly less long: the dealer was unresponsive/uncooperative in regards to sorting out the issue, so I got BPAS to completely repaint the hood in addition to all the beautification and protection work they had already done - and as expected, the hood now looks perfect and wonderful, just like the rest of the car! I have an exotic that needed what I considered to be some minor paint correction and I was curious about the paint protection film process and associated costs. I spent some time online doing the best research I could on the topic so I could maintain a reasonable, educated conversation. Due Diligence these days amounts to consistently high reviews, availability and genuine, good character - all very rare to find these days. I completed an online inquiry on the Bulletproof Auto Spa website in late March of 2022. The very next day, I was contacted by their Production Manager, Sean Tracey. I found him to be very personable and engaging: 'I'd love to see the car in person to give you a paint inspection and guide you on the best pathway to protecting your investment.' More than anything I felt Sean held a natural interest in the well-being of my vehicle in addition to a vision of the final product. None of the other boutique shop's displayed his remarkable candor and extraordinary insight on the topic. Time would pass as I was out of the Country and I reached back out in early October 2022. It was as if two old friends had picked up just where we left off months earlier. After visiting the location in Hawthorne, CA I received a preliminary estimate which admittedly was on the higher end of the spectrum. Sean remained both resolute and confident about the process including the necessary time needed to complete it. Further, he informed me upon conclusion, that these types of projects included a detailed, high-resolution photoshoot whereby photos could be accessed through Dropbox. I gradually could tell this was not going to be a regular job, rather a complete redesign. With additional work needed on the car, I would not be able to commit until January 2023. In good faith, Sean waived the customary 20% deposit to hold a January date and secured it with only $100 via PayPal. Before I knew it, the new year was here and I was dropping my baby off like it was her first day of kindergarten. Quite honestly, the paint appeared in relatively good condition to my untrained eye. The start to finish was just about seven days. Mid-week, Sean texted me to see if a paint-less dent removal tech could look at my vehicle and remove some small dings around the car. How could I resist? I had provided him with the landing report and was more than willing to accommodate. By months' end Sean texted me indicating that the Picasso was finished. He stated that it looked absolutely amazing in the sunlight - measurements were like glass. He was clearly as excited as I was. He had outdone himself; surpassing his highest expectations. I can honestly say that I didn't quite know what to expect. Certainly the car would look different but to what extent? As he rolled up the garage door, I literally felt like saying, 'Wow! Whose car is that?' The answer came quickly. This was way beyond a car detail, this was a piece of art. For starters, the car was showroom ready; concourse quality. It had clearly been pampered and coddled while in Sean's care. The first thing that caught my eye was the glossy, flawless finish of the paint. My best descriptive was that it looked like liquid metal. However, what was most impressive was how smooth the surface felt to the touch, as if the paint had been polished to perfection. The original paint is called Nero Daytona Metallic [Black] such that there are faint gold specs or flakes within. The car appears solid black until you approach it. The polish on the car was stunningly buffed as all of the fine lines on the car were brought to life. Upon closer inspection, you can see that every external nook and cranny of the car has been thoroughly cleaned and detailed. This included the wheels and rims which were spotless. Further, the headlights and taillights are now crystal clear free of any blemishes. In the end, Sean is someone you would want associated with your car because he's simply a perfectionist with a deep knowledge of automotive paint restoration. Few people find their lot in life; Sean's life purpose can be found in his love of vehicle restoration. He is meticulous/conscientious and passionate about his craft. He treated my car as if it were his own and it is evident in his commitment to quality that shows in every aspect of my car's appearance. I think you have to have a degree of trust/belief in a business these days since there are many that are unscrupulous. Bulletproof Auto Spa is not one of those. From my initial inquiry, the team was incredibly helpful and provided me with a detailed estimate based on the work I wanted done. They took the time to answer all my questions and even invited me to stop by the shop to see their work in person. This level of professionalism and attention to detail made me feel comfortable and confident in their abilities. It's a well-known fact that dealers are not always gentle with new cars, and mine was no exception. But before starting the paint correction process, Sean & Tricia took the time to meticulously inspect every panel for blemishes, dents, and variations in paint thickness. Several small dents were discovered, which were corrected through PDR (Paintless Dent Removal). The paint thickness on average was approximately 6mm, which is common among GTR paint. Next on the agenda was the paint correction, and the team dedicated more than 30 hours to ensuring that the car met their standards. Some areas required wet sanding to achieve the desired paint level, and I was blown away by the attention to detail and the amount of time invested. I want to emphasize that I communicated from the start that the duration of the work was not a primary concern for me but rather the level of quality and the final outcome. Once the paint correction was done, the entire car was decontaminated to remove any foreign object debris and oils, as the next step was to apply the Paint Protection Film (PPF). Bulletproof used leading industry standard, XPEL Ultimate Plus. From the beginning, I emphasized that I wanted each section to be done in bulk as much as possible. I'm not against pre-cut but I just wanted the most amount of coverage and least amount of noticeably that the car had any film on it. During my visit, I had the opportunity to witness an Audi R8 that they had wrapped. I was struck by the precision and meticulousness of the disassembly process that ensured that everything was bulked. I couldn't believe the level of craftsmanship because it is rare and hard-to-find these days. Interestingly, this was precisely how the PPF was done on the GTR. Of course, within PPF film limits when comparing vinyl wrap. I must admit, the thought of having someone disassemble your brand-new car to that degree was a bit unnerving, but I had faith in their abilities. When the work was finished and the car was reassembled, it was difficult to detect the presence of any film, and I had to actively look for it. The quality of the work was truly impeccable. Before coating, I made the decision to have certain areas of the interior such as the carbon fiber trim protected as well just to prevent the unwanted scratches. A nice kit from XPEL was used to achieve this. Additionally, I had the rear carbon fiber diffuser protected with XPEL Stealth as it is known to be susceptible to damage from rocks. The final stage involved applying a ceramic coating to the car, including the brake calipers, full wheel, and barrel. Geyon Q2 Infinite Base was utilized for this purpose. Once the coating had fully cured, the iconic GTR Bayside Blue paint was incredibly bright, giving the appearance that the car was dripping wet. Words still fail to do justice in describing just how stunning the final product turned out. I was so pleased with the entire process that when I took delivery of my Model Y from Tesla a couple months later, I took it directly there and repeated the process. Except this time opting for full car PPF in XPEL Stealth. I couldn't be happier with how that car came out as well. Fast forward to March 2023, the quality of work on both vehicles remains exceptional and up to the same standard as when they were first completed and delivered. When we got our Metallic Blue Tesla Model S Plaid at the beginning of the year I connected with Bulletproof Auto Spa through their working relationship with Unplugged Performance. I knew whoever UP recommended for work on a Tesla would be the best in SoCal, and they exceeded my expectations. We wanted to get a full body matte white / blue pearlescent color change wrap, matte black wrapping of glossy and chrome pieces (including logos and badges), with a ceramic coating. They also did a window tint on the side and rear windows, protective film on the windshield, and installed the Unplugged Performance x Koenigsegg spoiler. Was looking around to get my car's roof and side mirrors vinyl wrapped and received a few quotes from other shops. Decided to go with Bulletproof automotive after checking out their instagram page and saw all the amazing jobs they've been doing on cars. Specifically Teslas, so I knew a little ol' Acura would be no big thing for them to work on. Set my appointment up and 2 weeks later dropped my car in and received the next day. What can I say, I was 1000% pleased with the results! The roof wrap looks immaculate and gives the car a different look. Then matched with the side mirrors it just completes it. I had to contact again regarding an issue with the side mirror, but they worked on it quickly and efficiently, and honestly turned out 100 x's better with the redo. It was just a matter of the way the mirrors were built. I've already been complimented many tmes with the vinyl wrap and been asked where it got done. My contact at this business was Tricia, from the beginning, she was very helpful and very detailed in explaining pricing and installation options. Unbelievable results! That really sums up the work that the Bulletproof Auto team has done with my car. I couldn't be more happy with the entire process and how detail oriented this shop is. After I purchased my car back in June, I was shopping around asking for quotes to see what I should expect for a ceramic coating in the LA area. Bulletproof was the only shop that asked if I could bring it in so that they could give me an accurate quote. Once I got there, Mike and Sean provided a detailed breakdown on what I should expect as well as what they would recommend for my car. At no point did I ever feel pressured to do anything I didn't want to add on to my car. Even after the quote, Mike was prompt with any questions I had regarding the services provided at any hour of the day I reached out. I ended up getting the front of the car PPF'd, the windshield protected, and a full ceramic coat. Once I booked the appointment I knew my car was in good hands. Mike sent over multiple pictures throughout the week providing updates throughout. I was so excited to get the car back and was blown away with the results. The color really "popped" and now I have peace of mind knowing that the front of my car is fully protected. After a couple of weeks since the work was done, I can honestly notice massive benefits of the ceramic coating in action. For context, I park my car under a carport close to the beach where the car is still open to the elements. Prior to getting the ceramic coating done, I would notice a thick layer of dust cake over the car hours after I would wash the car. Since the coating this "dust" has all but vanished. It really is amazing seeing it in action, and it brings me absolute joy seeing the car gleam in the sun. My baby is so shiny and glossy it looks like a fresh coat of paint was just applied. What I love even more is that you guys don't cut corners. You added full protection with detail to every edge and corner not leaving any of it exposed. The film is placed so precise to the bumper, hood, headlights, side fenders, and even the back of the side mirrors. We truly love it!!. We also add ceramic tinted to our front two passenger windows. You guys made sure to match it almost perfectly to the back windows. She looks like it was tinted all at the same time.
