I love coming up to the Glens Falls/Saratoga area to visit family and this time it was for a special reason. My cousin had her baby shower here and it was a great time! They rented out the upstairs private room which was a good size for about 40ish people. They had food buffet style- my favorite was the salads and the penne vodka with chicken. The men of the family ate at the actual restaurant downstairs and gave good ratings on the chicken wings, will definitely be back for those! read more

Food is always great here- absolutely no complaints. The place is a typical sports bar with multiple screens, though sometimes difficult to hear what ever is featured. For some reason golf is ALWAYS on- boring! Service is spotty at best- food usually comes quickly but it seems that the bar is chronically understaffed and because the place is dense with regulars trying to get bartenders attention can be mind numbingly frustrating for a local who isn't a barely or "one of the boys." Service could improve, food is alright, drinks are good, customer base is friendly. Table service was virtually nonexistent. If you come here for a drink or food, you walk up to the bar (which is packed with regulars on Saturday nights) and wait to hopefully catch a bartender's attention. If you manage to do that somehow, and draw their attention from the regulars to yourself, the drinks are alright. The environment is friendly from customers, and with a Jukebox and Live Sports Broadcasts playing, if you can get past the service flaws then it may be a nice outing with friends. read more

forgot to take a picture before absolutely destroying my thai peanut wings. here's the rundown: the thai peanut wings were good, not dry yet crispy, and flavorful. i tried the mango habanero wings and they weren't nearly as spicy as i expected and the maple chipotle swings were vaguely sweet/spicy rather than actually maple and chipotle. we went on a sunday night (not during football season) and it was pretty empty except for the bar. it's a sports bar, and it delivered on the sports bar expectations (lots of tvs playing sports). the service wasn't AWFUL, but it certainly was bad. our waitress greeted us unenthusiastically and stood there for a while after we said we'd need more time. she wasn't very friendly or welcoming, didn't tell us what wasn't on the menu before we ordered something that they didn't have, and forgot my drink (granted we were in a big party, but notepads exist for a reason). as a waitress, i was pretty disappointed in the service. overall though, food is pretty good and my date liked the chicken quesadillas a lot. just don't go expecting good service. read more

We really enjoyed our burgers, they were huge. And the buffalo chicken rangoons were a delicious twist to a classic Rangoon. There are so many more things I wish I had the appetite for to try. We stay in Saratoga for the summer and headed to glens falls to get away from the hype. After visiting the brew house tasting room across the street, we were looking for a place to have some decent bar food. The Bullpen Tavern was one of several places mentioned by the brew staff, and we selected it because it was the closest to get to on a cold February night. Plus, we were already parked in front of it. Never having been here before, we were told that it had been renovated and was now much nicer than previously. Upon entering, we saw a long bar on the left with plenty of large TVs, and tables along the right. It was brightly lit and looked clean. Apparently, there were a lot of younger folks stopping for a drink on their way to some other function. It was quite noisy with its high ceiling and brick walls until the crowd moved along to their next destination, which happened about halfway through our visit. We started off with pints of Guinness ($5.50), an Ithaca brew ($6), Eggplant Fries ($6.95), and Mozzarella Sticks ($7.95). The Eggplant was habit forming, with its grated cheese and balsamic topping, and side of marinara. The Mozzarella was also very good, served with both marinara sauce and raspberry sauce for an up-charge of $.50 for the second sauce. I wouldn't let our server (also one of the bartenders) remove the remaining eggplant once our main courses arrived so that I could clean the plate. My wife opted for the Jackson Burger ($10.99) - 8 oz. Kobe beef with house made pimento cheese, banana peppers, thick cut bacon, and crushed honey BBQ potato chips on a grilled brioche bun. She also chose the house made potato chips. This was a very good combination of ingredients mixing nice flavors and textures. The burger was cooked medium-rare as requested. My choice was a more simple Bacon Egg & Cheese Burger ($10.95) with a side of battered fries. Once again, a perfect medium-rare. There was plenty of bacon and the whole sandwich was not too messy to eat since the egg was fully cooked (but not overcooked). The fries were standard decent. Overall, a very nice and clean sports bar with good pub food. They also have a second floor for private parties. Our server was friendly, but nowhere to be seen when we were ready to pay our bill. So we simply brought it to one of the other bartenders at the bar. It's nice to know we have another option in Glens Falls now when we come here. read more

Came here twice for lunch during MLK weekend while we were in the area for a hockey tournament. Bartender served us at a high top and was friendly and attentive. We stopped in here for lunch. The menu is interesting. They have super hot sauces for they're chicken wings. My husband asked for some on the side with his burger and was very happy with it. Hot sauces aren't ever hot enough for him. We ordered the eggplant fries as an app and they were really great crispy and the balsamic on top was delicious. I had the autumn apple salad which had cranberries, walnuts, Granny Smith apple with chicken and the creamiest goat cheese I've ever tasted. Our waiter was always there to fill our drinks. My partner and I went in for a drink after work. At 6:30 pm the Bartender was clearly distracted as her family seemed to be there. A Three year old climbed up on the barstool next to use and grabbed a handful of popcorn...she was also sitting next to my boyfriend, watching mommy "work". Apparently this is cute. Grandma, I assume, felt she could do anything as she went behind bar to take napkins and straws. Dad seemed to have the three month old in front of him in a carrier, as he/she screamed.
