    Production history for the distillery
    Amanda V.

I fell in love with the bottled old fashioned when Bully Boy began shipping it during COVID. Because a lady doesn't tell, you'll never know just how many bottles traveled to my house on the west coast. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to tour the distillery, ahead of a late night flight out. As luck had it, I was the only person on the tour. I had a great time with my guide, Margaret, as she walked me around the production floor, discussed BB's process, and talked about the three samples I tasted. The distillery has a beautiful bar with a great selection of signature and classic cocktails. Although I took an Uber, it looked like there was plenty of street parking in the area. If you want to play the odds to be in a smaller group, book the 1 PM time.

Among the best cocktail spots in the city and easily the best prices. There's a couple of cool lounging areas and couches in the back outside of the bar with retro pinball machines. Definitely a unique spot worth the visit and an awesome staff too

Came by with friends for drinks on a Friday night - great time. The layout is great and has multiple spaces - bar up front, middle space with barrels to walk around, room in back has tables, couches and pinball machines (bring cash!). There's no food, but the menu says you can bring your own if so inclined. Great drinks, friendly bartenders, and the ambience is laid back and not rowdy or loud. Highly recommend!

First time to Bully Boy Distillers and it did not disappoint. We came in late night for some drinks, it was a little hard to find, very much a speak easy vibe. I loved the door with the formula, basic meaning to make ethanol/ alcohol. The cocktails were perfectly made with the distilled products. I also enjoyed having the American whiskey neat, very nice flavor and well balanced, would buy a bottle if I could find one. I'll definitely be back when in town.

Went for a distillery tour and had a fantastic time and have gone back many times since for events that they host. Our tour guide was fantastic and gave us the history of bully boy! There is no food but you can order delivery. During events they do have food trucks and vendors. I love the decor it's set in an old mill building with a history of its own. The barrel room has beautiful chandeliers great for a bachelors/bachelorette party. They also have bottles for purchase / coasters etc.. I put together a basket for a Yankee swap. Have a Bully of a day!

So fun! We did the distillery tour. Learned a lot and tour included free samples and a glass to take home. We also stayed for the unique cocktails - those were delicious too! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I'd come back! Fair warning, parking might be difficult.

Bourbon distilled in Boston?? Don't tell the Brits or they might come back. Yes, dear readers not only is it true but it is right up there with all the browns Bourbon County Ky puts out for a fraction of the price. Go with the straight American whiskey ( Blue label). It has a hint of sweetness and a spice in the aftertaste. Seriously delicious! And at 84 proof let's make it a double. Enjoy!

Went on a Friday evening and the place was popping, Good drinks, try their flight of alcohol. No food but there was a taco truck right outside. Classy ambience but really loud. Good fast service.

My boyfriend and I did a whiskey tour here recently and we had the best boozy time! Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and funny and gave us a few samples of their whiskey. Some of it was super strong but still great. With a ticket for the tour, you also get a souvenir glass to take home. During the tour, they give you a rundown on how the alcohol is made and they show you the barrels that they age the whiskey in, too! Afterward, there's a bar on site that has the most amazing cocktails. Our tour was less than an hour but we ended up spending almost 2 hours there!

Low key and local distillery that is making great stuff straight out of Boston. Drinks here are excellent and not pretentious. Reserve tours in advance to pop in for a nice cocktail or two. Knowledgeable staff and superb service.

Went here for the first time on Friday the 13th and had a great time! Got there at 7and glad we did because tons of people showed up around 9. We sat inside the barrel room and first ordered the whiskey flights 10/10 recommend. I love whiskey/whiskey and trying different types so this was great for me and even better for someone wanting to try like my roommate. We were given complimentary shots which was amazing and made us feel very welcomed. Only complaint was the amount of fruit flies and gnats in the barrel room. They were all over the place and even got in our drinks. We were able to switch the drinks out for new ones, but would have rather not experienced that. Other than that I'd go again, but hopefully there are some fruit fly catchers next time.

Their honey maple tables, spacious rooms, and plush seats are a haven for anyone who appreciates a genuine speakeasy for enjoying a good drink with friends. As someone who doesn't drink, their juniper belt is my go-to, and it is zesty. The distillery itself is in a pleasant part of town, as the staff is so friendly and wants you to truly enjoy yourself.

This place is VERY cool. It's in a weird, hidden warehouse, with not much around it. The cocktails are gorgeous- very quirky ingredients, very fun garnishes. There is a fairly small space to sit, though well decorated, so we ended up sitting at the bar. The small locale does give an air of exclusivity though, as if you have found this cool unknown bar. It was raining, so we didn't even see the cool outdoor space (or know it was there, I only am seeing it now on other Yelp reviews haha) I'm giving a 4 instead 5 because the cocktails contain some very niche ingredients (example being spicy ingredients or pepper). And there isn't really many other drink options. This place is not for everyone, but a place worth trying. Our favorite was the royal colada!

A majority of the drinks were more on the savory side which was very interesting like "may all your bacon burn" with bacon bites at the top of the drink. The drinks my friend had were all stunning with the use of egg yolk to elevate the drink. We ended the evening by walking over to Bow Market and trying Viet Citron which was so DANG GOOD my gosh. The to go orders were insane but looks like they are doing very well despite recently opening in. I got the grilled lemongrass pork ribs bowl and youtiao and the side sauce was so good. The lounge quickly proved to be the superior choice, especially if you: - have a date - are a solo traveler around for the vibes I ordered the Blue Hill Bay Moules Frites, which was accompanied with a pot of black mussels in their lemon garlic butter and parm fries. I was happy with the ratio. I've seen a lot of places skimp on the protein and load up on the fries - but here I believe this dish was ~ $32 well spent. My only note is that I think parmesan shaved ribbons would work better than grated parmesan for the fries. I highly recommend purchasing a glass of Sauvignon Blanc because this paired extremely well with the mussels. I wish I remembered the name of my server. He was delightful, and super quick too. Thank you for making my first dinner in Boston a memorable one team :)

Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.
