Only reason I can't give 5 Stars is the call center. Have set up several appointments (3) in the past year and nobody ever showed up. Never got a call. The folks at Bulwark are the best. Very responsive to special requests. We were headed out of town; but found ants in the kitchen. We scheduled an in home visit for when we returned; but they showed up while we were still out of town. Alex treated the outside; and when we got home, there were no more ants in the kitchen. 2 weeks later and still no issues. read more

We've used Bulwark Exterminating on 4 different homes since 2005 and have always been highly impressed with their service, and in particular their people. Every technician is courteous, professional and always goes and beyond to please. They also come back if you see a bug in between services, you just have to call - super easy! We just had another application and a new tech, Eric Nelgenfird,did our service. He was very courteous, called in advance for the service and again to say he was running a bit behind and then went over and above to treat our yard and interior areas and explained exactly what was affected and how long to keep our dog and children away from these areas. Bulwark's rates are very fair and their service is exceptional. I would highly recommend (and have) to anyone considering a pest control service in the Charlotte, NC area. read more

He then outlined his treatment strategy, the specific treatments he would be applying and his rationale for so doing. David was VERY thorough in both his explanations and applications. I scheduled an appointment to have someone from Bulwark Exterminating come out and provide some service. I was originally given a time frame window of 10 AM until 1 PM but requested that someone come out at 10 AM as I was going out later that day. The scheduler said they would try their best to accomodate my request but couldn't give me any guarantees. Technician Mark Jarvis came out promptly at 10 AM and provided excellent service inside and outside my home. He was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. My only wish is that Bulwark would be able to schedule an exact time to come out rather than a time window. I wanted to give zero stars but it wouldn't allowed me. My husband signed a one year agreement with this company when a salesman came to our door soliciting work. He verbally promised that we would not have any insects in and around our home. He comes out with his little spray can and is finished in less than 15 minutes. Whatever he sprays does no good at all. Nothing is put into the ground around our house as other exterminators have done. We still see bugs, ants and spiders in our home and ant hills all over the yard. We tried to cancel service and a man called my husband and said they never promised to get rid of all insects. He said it takes time. Well he promised to send someone out again to respray. They were supposed to call first. Today a man shows up at our door unnoticed. It is pouring rain. He spent 5 minutes in our back yard spraying ant hills in the rain which will be simply be washed away. This is a joke and I can go to Lowes and buy something that does a more thorough job that's this. We are stuck in a one year contract that is basically throwing money out the door. We will honor the contract but it will be cancelled as soon as the year is up! Not Happy read more

Warning, get your rate in writing. When I called for service I mentioned that I was going to use the yelp discount $35, and intended to go online and purchase via yelp. Initially the rep told me that this was for new customers only. (We used this company in another state in the past, and another address in NC a year ago.) After a brief hold, the rep came back and said that they would honor the yelp rate, because I was establishing service at a new address. The representative also told me it was not necessary to go thru yelp, that she could honor the $35 yelp rate. Guess what? After service I got the bill for the full amount, no discount. I wrote immediately explaining the situation, they did not honor the yelp rate so.....if you don't purchase via yelp.....make sure they send the rate to you in writing before they provide service. In addition, if you have a crawl space it will not be treated in your regular servicing. For these reasons, I have opted to use a different provider and canceled service with this group. read more

First visit went very well. Signed up to have service every other month. When I called to schedule my second service I was notified that it was already scheduled (two days from when I called). I told the receptionist that I was never notified of that appt. I scheduled a new date for that second treatment between the hours of 9-11am. The day of treatment nobody was there by 11 so I called the office. They said they had it scheduled for between 12-3pm. I told them that they were supposed to be there by 11 and I was not planning to be home that afternoon and asked if they could call me an hour in advance so that I could make sure I was home. I was told it would be closer to 3 pm and that they would call. As I was leaving my home just before 1 pm, the service guy shows up at my front door and has no idea that he was supposed to call. At least he caught me at home! I paid for that service with a check directly to the service man. A couple of weeks later I receive a bill for that second service. I eventually call the company to make sure that it is a mistake and that my balance truly is zero. They tell me that it is not a mistake and I didn't pay for the second treatment. I state again that I paid with a check on that day and should have a balance of zero. I am told by the receptionist that she would look into it and would call me back that afternoon. Never got a call back. Four days later (on a Friday) I call again. I am told that the one and only person that could answer that question was not in the office that week and that person would absolutely call me and resolve this issue on Monday by noon. Monday came, Tuesday, it is now Wednesday... no call. The customer service, follow through, and attention to detail is seriously lacking at this company. read more

Just started treatment with them so my bug issues aren't totally resolved yet. (I've seen a big improvement though) But they have came out 3-4 times before my bi-monthly checkup. They are definitely working hard to get my issue resolved. Customer service is awesome! I've had a technician name Stepfanie a couple times and she's been so helpful!
