Had birds in bathroom fan vent, along with bird mites in bathroom, and asked to have them removed and vent cap installed. Technician showed up and reeked of marijuana and said he was allergic to birds. Probably the wrong industry for him. He removed the nest and installed a vent cap, but did not solve the problem of bird mites that we discussed. I was told on the phone by owner Chris that they would use a brush tool to clean out vent tubing and spray solution in the vent to kill the mites. That didn't happen and the technician told me to just spray Lysol in the bathroom fan. Lysol kills bacteria, not bird mites. They asked for payment of originally $199 and then somehow it climbed to $273. I told them I'd be happy to pay if they came back out and actually solved the problem we originally discussed. No phone calls to come back out, only text messages and they never answered the phone when I called. I came home one day to find the same weed-reeking technician leaving my property after having gone in my back yard, through a gate, and climbing a ladder to rip the vent cap out of the soffit while my wife was home along. I arrived home as the technician was leaving and tried engaging him, telling him as I'd done numerous times before over their preferred method of texting that I'd be happy to pay him if they performed the services they described and solved the problem. He refused to talk. The police were called and we are now pursuing damage to property (for the mutilated soffit) and trespassing charges for entering a gated property without homeowner present and without consent. I would steer clear of this company at all costs and not recommend them to my worst enemy.

In which case I had a few rats, that unknown to me, burrowed their way under my foundation and into the crawl space. Learn something new every day. So I call Charlotte Wildlife Removal and learn that rats can actually dig tunnels. And from earlier battles to remove them over the years; found that there were a few holdouts left. CWR laid out large box traps along the entrance to the hole and other areas as well as in the crawl space. Being sure not to lay poison yet so that they wouldn't die and then I would have the smell in the house. Side note; contrary to popular belief, the poison doesn't drive them out to get water, they'll just stay and die. CWR came by every other day for 2 weeks to check the traps. All of the rats we caught happened in the first few days but did it for 2 weeks to be certain. Then the poisonous was laid in the attic, and crawl space. The best part though is that CWR dug down where the tunnels were filled it all back with concrete and covered with dirt. Overkill, possibly. Serious follow through, ohhh you bet! I have a near full basement and these tunnels contributed to leaks into the basement on days of heavy rain. So I'm very thankful for this dual repair. They will be back to do other preventative work for the crawl space. For now it's back to just being my home. Pleasant to work with, diligent and priced fairly. Highly recommend them.

So after receiving a call from the company on the final day of contract informing me the issue was much worse than the original inspection stated and it would cost me near another $4,000 to complete, I wrote a letter to the company. I have to say I was impressed that the owner, Rick called me and texted. When he did not hear back from me, he wrote me a letter expressing his disappointment in how everything was handled by his team and offered to complete the contract and the added work at no extra cost to me. It would all be completed for the original contract price. He was also there to supervise the entire project. Here is where he really impressed me. Before leaving we chatted a bit. We got on the subject of other house projects and I mentioned I was looking for a plumber and told him my issue. He asked to look at it and in 5-mins had resolved that issue and probably saved me several hundreds of dollars. I spoke to a woman there to let them know I was still without work and surprised by the unauthorized bill. She was less than understanding. Two months later I finally found work and before I could pay them they turned me over for collection despite my situation, my open communication with them and the unauthorized charge. I called to make the payment, which was deducted from my account, and two weeks later the collection agency is still sending me letters. I suppose it will depend on whether or not we need to involve a lawyer and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to determine if we ever use them or not. From the first call, I clearly informed the callers that I was not interested in their services and requested that all future calls stop. Despite these requests, the calls continued. Rather than honoring my request, ProForce Pest Control or its representatives continued contacting me. The repeated nature of these calls leads me to believe that my requests were ignored or that my telephone number was never properly removed from the company's calling lists. These calls have significantly disrupted my daily routine. My telephone is used for personal, family, financial, and business communications, and every unwanted marketing call interrupts my day. Over time, I became reluctant to answer calls from unfamiliar numbers because I could not determine whether the call was legitimate or another unwanted solicitation. This has created stress and concern that I might miss important communications. I believe every consumer has the right to request that telemarketing calls stop and to have that request respected. Businesses that engage in telemarketing should maintain effective internal do-not-call procedures and promptly honor requests to cease communications. Despite making repeated requests to stop calling me, the unwanted calls continued. As a result, I began documenting the calls and preserving evidence, including call logs and other records, because informal efforts to resolve the matter were unsuccessful. I request that ProForce Pest Control immediately and permanently remove my telephone number from all internal and external calling lists, customer databases, lead-generation systems, CRM platforms, and any third-party marketing or telemarketing vendors acting on its behalf. He could not possibly have been more polite and personable, explaining the process every step of the way, showing me the damaged part as well as a new part so I could see the difference. The units on the rooftop were not marked, so he had to work extra hard to locate mine. He wisely took a video of the location of my unit and also noted every identifying detail to put in my records.
