I've lived in Vegas since 1990 and had never seen a scorpion until we moved into this house on Sunrise Mountain. Then I found out the whole area is infested with them. Our house had them, inside and out. I thought there couldn't be anything worse than getting woken up by having a scorpion sting your hand, it hurts like a wasp sting, and it happened to me several times the first year. But I was wrong. Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and getting stung on the bottom by a scorpion that was hiding under the toilet seat is worse. So as you can imagine, I wanted to take care of the scorpion problem at my house as fast and as thoroughly as possible. I hired another company and got their best service for a year, and I saw absolutely no improvement. Then I tried another company, same thing. Both companies were both willing to come out as many times as I wanted, and I called them many extra times, but we still had scorpions. The strategy they explained to me was that by killing the bugs that scorpions feed on, the scorpions would no longer come around. But they weren't even good at doing this. I still had cockroaches and water bugs inside the watering system valve boxes. Then I tried Bulwark. The next day after their first visit, I saw a dead scorpion on my walkway and another that was upside down and dying in the garage. At last I knew I had found the right company. Before Bulwark, I was catching several scorpions per week in sticky traps in my house. Now I rarely catch one, and only right inside the door. I never catch any upstairs in the bedroom any more. So I can confidently say that the situation has improved a lot. And I don't see cockroaches, ants, etc any more either. Our tech for numerous visits has been Ed Sakugawa. He always does a thorough job and answers all my questions. My wife has extensive landscaping and she raises a fit if anyone breaks a leaf, but Ed is super careful and takes great care not to disturb anything. We appreciate all he has done to take care of our awful bug problems. We'll be a Bulwark customer as long as we stay in Vegas. --- I have to amend this review. Due to EPA restrictions, they stopped applying chemical to the entire property, and only sprayed a small area around the house foundation. As I started seeing 2 or 3 scorpions in the sticky traps inside the house every week, I suspected the outside situation was getting worse again. I called for a respray and got the same treatment, just around the foundation. I went online and bought a black light flashlight and went out after dark. Imagine my shock when I was able to find and kill 20 scorpions within an hour, they were everywhere. I went out the next night, and again, in about an hour, I killed 20 more. My property was totally overrun. I fired Bulwark and ordered my own chemical online, and went to Home Depot and bought a 5-gallon backpack sprayer, and started spraying the whole property myself. In two follow-up calls from Bulwark, they tried to get me back as a customer, offering reduced rates to come out again. They gave me their sales pitch, explaining all the services they would provide, and how it it so difficult to kill scorpions because of their hard exoskeleton, and because their body is off the ground and so doesn't contact the chemicals very much. I told them how disappointed I was in how ineffective their service had become and that I was going to try it my way now. It has been a year now since I took over. I've sprayed once a month. I continued seeing many scorpions for a couple months, but as time went by, fewer inside the house. It's now been two months since I've caught a new one in the sticky traps. When I go out at night with the black light flashlight, in an hour I can always find one, maybe two scorpions. I'm looking forward to the day when I can't find any at all, but the situation has definitely improved. I understand why Bulwark became ineffective, the EPA has inspectors who check how much chemical they use and even has observers to watch them on the job. Bulwark's hands are tied. I just think everyone should know their limits now; they're no help when it comes to scorpions. read more

If you don't want to read this whole review.. Just know that I am grateful for Bulwark.. But a company is only as good as it's employees. I've had a couple of techs out here.. Some good and some bad but so far Sione Tuiaki has been the best so far. He listened to my concerns and concentrated on the spots where I was having problems. I didn't feel like he was just rushing through the job to get it done and he really seemed concerned about our scorpion problem. So here's the rest of the review.. if you have scorpions.. you should probably read this! We had some bad luck when we moved to Vegas.. Scorpions everywhere.. I killed at least 40 in the first 3 months that we lived here. Inside and out. I have 2 little kids so I was getting a little antsy. We had one pest control company come out and spray and then he never came back. I talked to neighbors and read a tons of reviews and decided to try them. The first tech came and did an initial treatment. He was very thorough and did an amazing job. He told me that I would be seeing scorpions for a couple of days after so I knew what to expect. He said if I saw anymore after those first couple days then he would come back and spray for free. I'm sure there were some outside but we had nothing inside. It was nice to have some peace of mind for once. Then it was winter so I didn't see any for a couple months. Then it started getting warm again and I saw one in the house close to where my son was playing. I don't know why but I panicked this time and started doing a bunch of research and learned that the scorpions I have are Arizona Bark Scorpions. They are the most venomous ones in the U.S. They can cause numbness and tingling and sensations that victims have compared to being struck by lighting in adults and in children and the elderly can cause temporary paralysis and can be deadly if the victim is not given the anti-venom. I pretty much freaked out and wanted to move but we are renting from family and I don't want to rock any boats so I called Bulwark to have a tech come out. He came, didn't ask me a single question, sprayed and left without saying anything. I can't remember his name luckily. Anyways, so I started doing some more research, bought black lights, and my husband and I started hunting them every night. Since we started doing this I haven't seen one in the house. However, we kill at least 5 every night in the backyard.. And killed 11 one night. They are in the rocks, hiding in the cinder block, and in the cracks of our concrete. It's frustrating because our kids can't play in their own backyard and I'm paranoid about finding them in the house or anywhere. I hadn't called Bulwark to come back, which they do as a courtesy by the way, because I hate complaining but after finding 11 that one night I needed them to come back for my sanity. This time I voiced my concerns about the scorpions and about wanting a really good tech. They sent Sione and I just felt the weight of the world lift off my shoulders. He was amazing and put all my concerns to rest. We talked about a long-term treatment plan that will help get rid of them completely. I know that it'll take some time but I just feel so much better knowing that I have a knowledgable and experienced professional in my corner of the ring in this fight. I will probably continue hunting them at night to help get rid of them faster but it's just nice to have some peace of mind! If you are trying to decide if the price is worth.. let me assure you that it is. It may be a little more than other companies but I promise you won't get the kind of service that you will with a few extra dollars spent at Bulwark Exterminating. It's definitely worth it. Oh, and if you don't have scorpions.. it's still worth it because we had roaches too and I haven't seen one since they started spraying.. Scorpions just take a little longer to kill off. read more

Josh Cowles gave to my home on June28th for an extermination application. He was very friendly and co-operative and did everything I asked of him.He is a hard worker and didn't take any shortcuts as I have seen people do. He was diligent and it was a pleasure to have him do my exterminating. Your company should be honored to have such a dedicated employee. I am disturbed that when I spoke to your employee on the phone that she wqas not more co-operative in reducing my price since I lived in my other home for 3 yrs and had your company do my exterminating but she insisted that I would have to pay 170.00 for the same service that I used to pay 70.00, Because of this situation I'm not sure I would recommend your company as you have no loyality to your pass customers. The only reason I cancelled your service is because I moved from a home I owned to a rental that provided extermination services but i trusted your company to back up what was being done for me for free. I owe a business myself and would never try to get more from my past loyal customers because they went to someone else for a service and then came back to me. nIts like you are punishing your past customers. An unhappy customer is like a bill board on the 95 saying don't use this company. Our old pest company, Progressive, would show up every month with a can of whatever. Spray it here and there around the house, and leave. As a result, I was pretty sure I was killing more scorpions here at the house than my pest control company was. Our friends highly recommended Bulwark for scorpion problems - they had experienced a similar problem a couple of years ago and after only a couple of visits from the company, the problem was solved. Just had our first visit from technicians Adam and Dallas with Bulwark. The difference in professionalism was obvious from the first conversation. These guys know their business and they specialize in eradicating evil bark scorpions from homes. They moved furniture, treated furniture, pointed out gaps in my weatherstripping that allows critters to get inside. Treated the gap between the carpet and the wall going up my stairs, under the baseboards, even put the granular stuff into my wall outlet boxes. I've now got my own blacklight flashlight so I don't worry so much about walking around the house after dark. Treated the outside all the way back to the rocks that the little guys live in. Die in excruciating pain, little scorpions. I'm very impressed with the techs' professionalism, knowledge, and dedication. Looking forward to a week, a month, a year without seeing any bugs. Both technicians I have encountered with this company, Ty and Parker we're absolutely fantastic, the empathy and kindness from both of these gentlemen are the type of employees that keep a company in business, I am a small business owner myself, and I would hire either one of these boys to work for me,, both of these very nice men were so empathetic and kind to me when explaining how horrific my home has been for months now with bug infestation, I give major props to the hiring team as well at this company from employing people with this type of kindness and empathy, when speaking to both Tai and Parker on the phone and explaining the physical things that have occurred in my body into my animal and how scared I am at my home, I left to stay at a resort both of these men with understanding its tone put me at ease to know, they cared about somebody they have never even met, I recommend this company more than I could ever express in words, and that's only by having a verbal conversation on the phone with these two men who listened to hear me expressed concern and empathy for my distress the point of where I had left my home with my animal out of fear for our health. I was a customer of Bulwark's for about 20 years. I have finally left them after years of declining customer service, efficacy of their pest control services, and their inability or disinclination to read the notes from their own system. We always requested service for the last three days of the month, because if we didn't, they'd start calling every three weeks and before we knew it, we were paying for 15+ service calls a year instead of 12. Regardless of the notes, they'd schedule us for the 20th or so, and I'd have to call and reschedule (though there should have been PAGES of notes on that issue), a severe inconvenience with multiple properties. We had consistently had three, sometimes four, rental properties serviced by them over the last twenty years and referred dozens of clients to them. We had them set up on autopay, so our payments were always on time. We started having some billing issues, they said we owed money. I learned that they hadn't visited out properties in December, for years (per the customer service person), but they never refunded our payments for services they didn't provide. Ironic, right? I called and asked for management when we had service problems, and no one cared until we cancelled service on our multiple properties. Sorry Bulwark, too little too late. read more

We have now been using Bulwark for nearly a year, and the service continues to be great! We've consistently had Jonathan Hernandez service our home, and he's been nothing short of amazing. Very knowledgeable, respectful and happy to answer all of our questions! He always asks how things are going and if we're having any issues. During one visit, we mentioned that the home has been free of bugs, but that we get, on rare occasion, a cricket or spider in the garage. We didn't expect much could be done, given garages aren't necessarily fully sealed, but he went above and beyond, by placing sticky pads on each edge of the garage doors and even placing some near our steps and shelves. Fortunately, they are carefully placed to not only be effective at catching critters, but to also be out of the way and not too visible. He also spent extra time looking around for any potential problem areas (both inside and out) and spraying additional solution where needed. Not only that, but every visit afterwards, he spends time replacing each of those sticky pads with new ones, to ensure we continue getting that additional protection! Very happy with our service so far, and I feel very secure that if we spot any bugs at any time, we can call in a service appointment, at no cost to us! read more

I weighed so many options before picking a company I felt would provide great customer service. I certainly made the right choice. Bulwark is great, not only in consistent service times and dates, great communication and well versed, incredible and friendly staff. you know the day before they will be at your home as scheduled but also when they are on the way and being right on time. not only are there no bugs inside, in my case mostly ants, but they aren't outside either that I have seen. If any are found part of their service is to make a courtesy visit and treat in between regular visits. They are affordable, lower than some companies, although it's hard to put a value on being bug free. Theres not much worse than having bugs in your home. I live in the desert so we're not short on bugs, and worse. My neighbors have seen scorpions (which this company treats for, and not separately like some companies) but I've been fortunate to never have seen one in or around my home, ever. Alexander is so friendly, knows his stuff, and his timeliness I so appreciate. I'm so grateful to have found this company and took a chance on their service. I've been a customer for more than 16 years and I wouldn't have anyone else in the industry do my pest control! These guys are wonderful, and the pest control products they use are harmless to humans and animals, yet they kill bugs dead! I have had problems with scorpions in a couple of different places homes I've lived in here in Las Vegas, but I call these guys and they took care of them for me! They treated my yard and house about 2 months ago and around a month after that, I found a scorpion in my foyer. Probably came from the unkept yard next door. I called Bulwark and the very next day they had a technician here and treated my entire property again, for free! I only give them 5 stars because I can't give them 10! You simply won't find a better pest control company in Las Vegas! I'm on a regular schedule so I have my place treated every 3 months for $85! But within the regular schedule treatments if I have a pest problem, I call and for no extra charge, they come back to my house, treat it again for no extra charge! The technicians ( shout out to Eric) are all courteous, trustworthy and professional! If you have a bug problem, give these guys a call! I highly recommend this business! read more

I had another exterminator tell me that Bulwark was the only company that aggressively attacked scorpion issues. Emily, who handled my questions over the phone, was very courteous and extremely confident inBulwark's ability to service my pest control needs. Maze Tufele was assigned as my technician and has proven to be a profession dedicated to his customer's needs. He provided excellent initial treatment and has responded to my request for service followup promptly. Maze informed me of a special service that Bulwark provides for an even more aggressive scorpion extermination regimen, the Nocturnal Scorpion Treatment, which utilizes a specialized vehicle with additional pesticides for scorpion eradication. I quickly scheduled the Nocturnal Scorpion Treatment. Connor Haney, the technician assigned to one of the NST trucks, arrived on time and eager to start. I found Conner to be a very polite and knowledgable young man. He too went above and beyond my expectations for the delivery of services. I have used Bulwark in the past but when financial times got tough, it was something that I had to discontinue. As soon as I was able to restart, I didn't call anyone else! Their service has always been so wonderful, that frankly, I never experienced a pest issue. This newest time I must leave a review for how positive my experience was again. From the schedulers to the technicians, I am very pleased. I wish I had gotten all their names, but I must say that Sione who first came to my home was superb and pointed out some issues I wasn't even aware of before. He removed his shoes and was incredibly polite and respectful. Today I just saw another technician named Seth. He has been here twice now and this young man is another standout in my eyes. He called to say he was on his way, listened to my concerns, identified the "scary spider" and did another free touch up service to make sure all was protected. He surely went above and beyond just spraying my house.(he even moved a few boxes for me!) I am so pleased with Bulwark's level of customer service and will always use them. We requested Sam Smith to come spray based on all the reviews we saw and he was, bar none, one of the best we've ever encountered. He was even better in person than the reviews give him credit for - that's how great of a technician he is. He gave us a courtesy call 30 minutes out, was prompt, extremely informative, and took care to ensure the interior, and particularly the exterior, was treated. We were more concerned with the exterior as we had seen a few black widows at night so he spent a little more care in the crevices where we saw the spiders and webs and within 10-15 minutes of spraying, we saw a dead black widow - that's how fast this plant-based, pet & child friendly, chemical solution they use works. Sam was extremely personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and just an overall great guy. Bulwark has a gem with Sam representing their company. We can't say enough great things about Sam and we've only just completed an initial treatment within the last week and already, we're seeing results. I am convinced the Queen of all Queen Mother of all fire ants has laid claim to my yard and they love me! I emailed Bulwark Exterminating and received a call within 15 minutes, that was an impressive start. After a few brief questions about my problem and if there were bugs inside as well, our needs were determined, pricing was given to me up front (and never change!) and my appointment was scheduled. My exterminator is Ed Sakugawa and I couldn't be happier, Ed is very sweet and professional! I showed him the problem spots, which he marked with tape as we went along, and he explained why the ants favored certain locations, their habits and why they were so troublesome to get rid of. We saw an immediate improvement in the amount of ants and Ed was back in one week to do a follow up. Three weeks later I notice another huge colony, which I expected, so I called Ed and he was at my house treating the area within the hour. He said the ants are worse because its hotter than usual and the humidity is much higher this year. True to their word, I was not charged for the extra visit. I called Bulwark yesterday after being referred to them by two of my friends who were happy with their service. I spoke with Tristan and explained I was concerned after finding black widows at our home. Because we are new parents I was also concerned about having chemicals in our home. He explained to me exactly what they use and was reassuring about the product safety for kids and pets. He also explained the importance of making sure we waited until it was dry after spraying before letting pets and kids outside. He was able to start our account and get a technician to our house the next day. Today, Jason came and sprayed. He explained the process to me and was very honest about what service we were getting. He was polite and very thorough. He even helped me catch the turtles from our pond to make sure they did not get sprayed. I appreciated his professionalism and personal service. I've always had an exterminator (not Bulwark) since I bought this new-build home in Las Vegas. For two years there hadn't been any problems--then the scorpions came! Despite intensive treatments, my pets have been stung twice and I've had a dozen scorpions crawling around INSIDE the house. Now I've switched to Bulwark because they've been rated more successful for scorpions than other pest companies in the area. Bulwark sent Jason B--I got stuck late at work and missed my appointment. Jason B came back again for my rescheduled appointment and didn't seem to harbor any negative attitude for my previous tardiness. He was thorough, efficient, polite, knowledgeable, and honest. He wasn't skittish around my two large dogs (and even the sassy cat had taken a surprising interest in him!) Only time will tell if the treatment works on the scorpions at my house--I've been warned it can take several months but Jason assured me that there were no signs of a nest on my property even though there's been lots of scorpions in Mountains Edge. read more

I had a problem with ants in my new place. My close friend suggested to call Bulwark since he is a happy and satisfied customer of the company. So I called Bulwark and was greeted with a pleasant and helpful representative. He scheduled my appointment right away ASAP to get rid of the ants and other insects in the house. Immediately after that I received a text from Jay Rappleye, scheduling me the following day at 7:00AM to 7:30AM. This people are serious to help you solve your problem. It was my first time to have a service at 7AM. Jay came to my house at 7:30AM. He is very thorough, he inspects the areas where the ants are coming from and even informed me that there was a spider web that he found during his inspection. He explained the process of how to eliminate the insects using their safe technology. He even found out that there are weeds infestation in my front and backyard as well.
