Such a fun place to take my toddler to and get to have indoor play time!! Everything is always clean and he has a blast

I brought my nephew here and met a girlfriend and we had a great time. Ordered tons of food and the kids played till they dropped. You're allowed to bring cake or cupcakes but not allowed to bring outside food. The kids had a fun time and I got to catch up with my girlfriend in the seated area.

Here's what you need to know, the owners here have differentiated themselves in several key ways: * Use of open space - there is a lot of empty floor space for the kids to run around, which is unique in that other warehouse playgrounds attempt to utilize every square inch and cram the space with junk * Lots of seating - every room has comfortable leather (or faux leather) seating, great to sit and access the free WiFi * Healthy food - fresh fruit, milk, and other healthy snacks versus the soda and candy dominated competitors Other features worth considering... * Party packages starting at $20 per child, for 2 hours of party room and unlimited playground access * Six party rooms * Bargain punch cards for frequent visits * Really clean * Modern and clean bathrooms My two kids, aged 8 and 4 both loved this place, though it's probably most appropriate for 6 and under. Will definitely come back, and would highly recommend.

I brought my children out here on 12/28 and we had a great time. We were meeting up with my sister later in the day and came here to blow off some steam/ run around. We got here right when they opened (9) and away we went. This is located on Randall Road like 2 minutes off of The 90. It's got a big parking lot so you won't have an issue finding a spot. On weekends it is $12 for one child and $10 for a second kid. Not the cheapest but it's within reason. What I liked about this place was it was good size, clean and there is enough stuff for kids of all ages. My 8 year old had fun and so did my 6 year old. Sometimes these places are geared more towards really young kids, but this was cool. There was a very large play area, a cool jumping/bounce thing and free air hockey. I thought it was great that wasn't a separate charge. There is a cafe/ restaurant there. It's a little on the high end, but hey we only live once right? My kids both liked what the got and I liked the full coffee bar they had. Quality latte and I enjoyed it. We will be back.

This is one of my new favorite spots. I like that the rooms are enormous and the bathrooms are clean. I like that the cafe isn't something out of Ninja Super Warrior, and I feel that my toddler is pretty safe playing here.

Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. A beautiful facility with friendly service and lots of space to move around make this a great gathering spot.

I want to start by saying that the hotel itself and the staff were absolutely amazing. Every staff…read moremember we encountered was kind, sincere, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about the guests. The customer service was excellent. The hotel was also very clean, organized, and well maintained, especially considering how busy the property is. Unfortunately, our concern was not with the hotel or its employees, it was with the number of people who appeared to be accessing and lingering around the property without actually being hotel guests. Three women in our group were originally supposed to stay here for two weeks. After one week, we made the decision to move to another hotel because the activity outside and around the property became increasingly uncomfortable and concerning. Throughout the week, at all hours of the day and night, we repeatedly observed groups of people lingering in the parking lot, often around pickup trucks and other vehicles. Some appeared to sleep in their vehicles, approach guests for money, walk around the property for extended periods, and use areas intended for hotel guests, including the pool and outdoor seating areas. There were adults as well as children present. At times, people who did not appear to be staying at the hotel were also ordering from the restaurant and using the hotel facilities. I became concerned enough that I repeatedly checked my account to make sure nothing had been charged to our room without our knowledge. What made the situation more unsettling was how closely some individuals appeared to watch guests entering and leaving the hotel. On one occasion, someone approached us asking whether the restaurant was open, despite our having seen the same individuals around the property for several days. At other times, vehicles would drive slowly past us while we were sitting outside or reposition themselves near areas where guests were coming and going. At one point, we counted approximately five vehicles associated with people who appeared to be lingering around the property. One evening, the situation apparently became concerning enough that hotel staff were walking through the parking lot looking for individuals who were not registered guests, and security became involved. I also had an interaction/observation involving a member of the contracted security team that raised serious concerns for me about whether unauthorized individuals may have been receiving assistance or information. I cannot independently verify what relationship, if any, existed, so I do not want to make an accusation as fact. However, what I personally observed was concerning enough that I believe hotel management should investigate the security contractor and review camera footage and access activity. I want to emphasize again that the Holiday Inn staff were wonderful. This review is not intended as criticism of the employees who treated us extremely well. The hotel has so much going for it, and the outdoor and pool areas could be a great place to relax. However, guests should be able to enjoy those areas and walk to and from their vehicles without feeling watched, approached, or uncomfortable. We ultimately gave up the second week of our stay and moved to another hotel because we no longer felt comfortable with the activity surrounding the property. My recommendation to management would be to strengthen parking lot monitoring, verify that people using the pool and other guest areas are actually registered guests, and closely review the performance of the contracted security company. For future guests, be aware of your surroundings, protect your room information, check your hotel charges, and report suspicious activity directly to hotel management. It is unfortunate because the hotel and its employees deserve a great review. The staff truly were amazing. With stronger control over unauthorized access to the property, this could have been an excellent two-week stay instead of one we felt we needed to end early.

Kelly and her family put a TON of work into this farm, and it absolutely paid off. They are excellent hosts, very helpful, and very accommodating. They lent an extra hand to help us out on our big day to make sure everything went off without a hitch. My wife and her bridesmaids had access to a rustic bridal suite; a converted corn crib (I think that's what it's called). It had a lot of little touches to it that really made my wife and her party feel relaxed: chairs and mirrors for hair and make-up prep, an elaborate couch, tables, a changing room with curtains, and a small storage room with a refrigerator/freezer. We had our wedding service on the lawn outside overlooking the prairie bordering Bluestem. The backdrop was great; scenic and picturesque. Chairs for our 106 guests were arranged in a fan layout. The sun sets across the prairie, so you can get some pretty awesome photos in that area. After the service, cocktail hour! The first floor of the barn is a wide open floor plan with several wood barrels serving as table tops for guests. The bar served our guests one after another, keeping up with a great pace in an awesome space. The walls and ceiling are all rustic. The floor is concrete made to look like wooden panels -- and it does! Our dinner reception was upstairs in the loft, a wonderful, enormous vaulted ceiling adorned with large barn windows, strung lights, and a couple of elaborate chandeliers. We had 11 guest tables and a small "sweetheart" table for my wife and I. There was plenty of space for our dinner buffet (tacos!), our DJ, and room for guests to mingle. The windows flanking the hall provided a very pleasant breeze through the loft. As the night went on, a number of guests made their way to the patio and fire pit, flanked by the barn and a silo. There was plenty of seating. We brought up some lawn games, as the space between the main barn and another building was large enough for at least two sets of Bags. We had a few toasts on the patio to wrap up the night. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Many of them remarked how unique of an experience it was. That's exactly the kind of wedding we were going for. We truly had a great time at Bluestem and highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, the entrées did not justify their price point, and the drink prices felt inconsistent with the overall quality of the food. I genuinely dislike leaving negative feedback, but it feels as though this establishment is taking advantage of the local community without delivering an experience that meets reasonable expectations. The wait staff was attentive, but the bar staff seemed more focused on socializing than providing professional service and seeking a hookup with drunk golfers. (Yup... I literally wrote that truth). Overall, it was a disappointing experience--especially considering that Elgin and the Bowes Creek Country Club have the potential to set a positive example with greater class and professionalism in the community. Not sure I'm alone in this sediment, we ended up coming here because we couldn't get last minute reservations anywhere else, and now it makes sense why they were wide open and only one other table was booked in the dining room. Such a beautiful building, so much potential, but a bad experience and quality of food to the match the likes of gas station.
