Such a wonderful addition to downtown Geneva! This is the perfect place to celebrate something special or a classy girls day out. I went with a larger group of 8 people. I wasn't the person handling the reservation but it seemed to book up quickly so planning ahead is KEY! We were all seated at a large square table with a food platter for each side of the table. You get a 2 hour slot for your table which we found to be plenty of time. The wait staff does an excellent job keeping things flowing and explaining how everything works. They took our tea orders right away. I tried the winter cherry tea which was great. The sugar cookie was another big hit at the table. The food was also delicious. The portions are deceiving. It doesn't look like a lot of food but it was certainly filling. I ended up taking most of the desserts home.

Oak & Rose Tea Room is nestled in the beautifully charming downtown Geneva, offering a stunning view of the river. The space feels intimate and cozy, yet still exudes a touch of luxury. I made our reservation online through OpenTable for myself and my girlfriends, and we went on a Sunday. It was absolutely wonderful. The owner is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, and it's clear how passionate she is about what she does. The staff is just as kind and attentive, which really enhances the entire experience. I've visited once in the spring and now again in the fall, so I've had the pleasure of trying two different seasonal menus. We started, of course, with tea. I ordered the seasonal Maple French Toast Oolong, which was incredible. I'll be thinking about that tea for a long time. My friends ordered the Jasmine Green and the Chamomile, and both loved their choices. Our meal began with a rich tomato soup that paired perfectly with their take on a grilled cheese sandwich. The other sandwiches were just as delicious. The next tier featured scones and biscuits; the scone was my favorite item of the entire afternoon and the dessert selection was equally decadent. I truly believe this is the best place for high tea. I've visited a few tea rooms in Chicago that are far more expensive and nowhere near as thoughtful. While high tea is always a bit of a splurge, Oak & Rose delivers exceptional value; everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're planning a girls' outing, a bridal shower, or a baby shower, Oak & Rose Tea Room is the perfect spot to celebrate and unwind.

My friends brought me here for a special occasion and overall we had a lovely time! The building was initially slightly hard to locate: it's in a little plaza near a park just west of the river, slightly tucked away. Look for the signs to lead you toward it. We were greeted by the owner's mother, who was helping out and was very nice, and seated us. We were offered the tea menu and could try multiple teas throughout the meal. I had the Kyoto Cherry Rose, which was very mild but initially the water came out very tepid so they made me a new pot (my friends didn't have this problem); later I had the Bella Coola, which was citrusy but poured a beautiful pink color! The food menu is set, a combo of savories, sweets, and scones including homemade clotted cream; we all particularly liked the scones! I liked the savory offerings but some were a bit big to be eaten in one bite but too tough to cut in half (crusty bread, prosciutto, etc). My favorite dessert was the mini trifle. The place started out pretty quiet but as it filled up got surprisingly loud! Perhaps they need to invest in some sound absorption panels (the ceiling is very industrial), because sitting against a wall it was rather hard to hear each other talk with several large boisterous tables nearby. The vibe was more "sorority brunch" than any tea room I have been to before; usually they are more sedate. The setting is very nice and the view of the river is lovely. Staff kept an eye on us, including checking if we wanted more tea. Overall, a nice dining experience in downtown Geneva.

We came in for an afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday, the owner met us at the door and had the table ready for us. Reservations are by appointment only but it ensures there aren't too many people and allows for everyone to enjoy the ambiance. They do offer gluten free options which is a huge play because many tea rooms do not accommodate for dietary restrictions. All the gluten free options are comparable to the regular options so you can share and discuss with the others in your party. As others have mentioned, you may have as many teas as your heart desires. We were told they change their menu seasonally so I will definitely be back!

The staff are extremely knowledgeable about all of their products, and can give you quite a few hints as to what to use each thing for, and they're great about finding exactly what you need even if you weren't sure what it was at first. We've gone in there wanting to get a tea, for this mood, or feeling this way, or just to experiment with a new flavor and after just a couple of simple questions they had several suggestions, and you can sample some of the oils, teas, etc.. They do have a few places to sit if you want to have a nice small pot of hot tea while you work. We've made this a minimum of once or twice a week visit, and suggest the same for anyone wanting quality tea, seasonings, essential oils, etc.

Arcedium Coffeehouse is a good place to come at breakfast. Lunch is pretty good too as there's also options. The prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing. A popular place in the mornings because it's always busy. It's got a lot of places to sit inside including the bar in the middle. This is a bar with coffee though. Coffee is the main item of course. It's about $6 for one of the specialty coffees including the Maple French Toast Latte. This has a cinnamon and maple flavor so it's like the real thing. Also there's food. Breakfast options include quiche and yogurt parfaits. It's about $6 for a sandwich. Has a few at lunch but most are meaty like the Ham And Cheese. One vegetarian option is the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. A pretty standard one to be honest. There's also things like salads at lunch. For sure it's a popular place at breakfast. It's located on Indiana Street close to the parking garage. The only thing not likable about it are the kind of high prices.

There is an okay amount of street parking. Inside of Arcedium is more spacious than I expected, as the place kind of loops around and there's a room in the back, along with plenty of bar seating around the front counter. I didn't spend much time there, but the ambiance was nice and service was good. I got a cappuccino to go. The milk foam was excellent, but the coffee flavor was kind of weak. Not bad overall, though. Pricing was on the higher side, as I've gotten a comparable size of cappuccino elsewhere for a dollar less.

When we arrived, there was no one else waiting and I'd guess that only 75% of the tables had customers. Couldn't have been more wrong in our decision as we waited for over an hour post ordering before we actually received our meal. This is the longest we have waited for breakfast... EVER. Anyone with kids knows having kids sit still and wait with minimal sources of entertainment is hard enough, then add hunger to the equation and it's a recipe for disaster. What could have made our experience better? 1 - Be transparent about your delays upfront -- Empower your diners to make a decision around whether they'd want to wait or not given how busy you are. Don't continue to seat customers when your kitchen is severely behind and hope diners don't notice. 2 - A small gesture goes a long way -- It would have been nice for SC to offer a couple of biscuits given the excessive wait. 3 - Don't add insult to injury... by bringing butter and ketchup 30+ minutes before the meal arrives. It added to the frustration that even my 7yo remarked "what are we going to do with butter, we have no food". They offered more water even when all our water cups were clearly full. Don't really understand how more water would make us less hungry? Looking at another recent 1-star review, I can see the same pattern as our experience. This restaurant clearly doesn't fail gracefully on busy days... and they don't seem to care either. At the conclusion of our meal, we didn't even get the typical "how was your meal" question from anyone. I guess they already knew.
