The burger was so cold, like it was cooked yesterday an refridgerated. I used to love their burgers at the Lombard location. But, I gave up because no matter how early ahead you call, they make you wait 20-30 minutes in the drive thru lane. Now, the food is cold. And, the fries were in a box ensuring that they were soggy. Also, I ordered lightly salty. They gave me overly seasoned, soggy fries. It's too bad because they could serve a great burger. But, the staff at both places clearly don't care. Hubby and I each had Boosted Bumper Burgers, which are cheeseburgers topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and bumper sauce (which is a mayo based sauce with seasonings and dijon mustard--if my tastebuds are right!). Delish! They offer additional toppings at no charge (other than a fried egg which is .99 cents) The burgers were like smash burgers--crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Cooked just right. The fries were served hot and seasoned with cajun like seasoning. (Salted fries were also an option.) Food took 5 minutes from order to delivery to our table. Restaurant was clean. Signed up for a deal at this place a little while back but never used the discount because I thought it was in a completely different location but was notified that they were running a buy one Bumper Burger and get one for $1 special for National Burger Day which seemed like a good deal so I made the drive over to Route 59 and got there a little after 3pm. I got 2 Bumper Burgers with everything (including grilled jalapeños, onions and mushrooms) and spicy bumper sauce but with one on a bun and one in a lettuce wrap. Both tasted great and were just the right amount of food for a late lunch where we didn't necessarily want to ruin our dinner. The $5 Bumper Burger is a decent value for the price but you're probably better off just getting the double patty "Bumper 2 Bumper" option and especially so if you've got a big appetite. Also ordered some chicken tenders for my nieces which were a good size and had a delicious breading. The habanero sauce I got with them was a tasty sweet-and-sour-like sauce that was not too spicy and made me end up stealing a couple of bites back from them. Made me curious to try their other sauces as well. Fries were delicious too. I usually don't like Cajun seasoning and will get fries just salted instead when possible which I was going to do again but I found the smell of the fries actually pretty alluring when I walked in so I asked for a light amount of seasoning and ended up really enjoying them. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had a steady stream of customers coming in and going through the drive-thru as I waited for my order which did not take long. The service was polite and helpful. As I was leaving I noticed that there milkshake offerings included unique options like pistachio, mango, mokaccino, lotus and Nutella and had wished I had noticed that before but I guess I can always just grab one next time. read more

I've passed by this location many times and recently stopped by for the very first time. I've visited the Lombard location a number of times. There used to be ample parking, they are adjacent to the Texas Roadhouse so you can hear the random country music playing in the parking lot. I ordered a bumper burger and made it a combo. The cashier confirmed if I wanted the smaller size single patty or what they consider to be a regular size...I was hungry so I went with the regular size. I enjoy the additional toppings you can get for no additional cost...I went with grilled mushrooms and grilled jalapeños on top of the regular everything toppings with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, American cheese, and signature Bumper sauce. The bumper sauce was similar to a tangy mayo sauce. For fries able to choose salted or seasoned...went with seasoned. Chose to dine in and they brought our order to our table. Everything was very delicious and well seasoned. The restaurant is a long rectangular shape and the seating area seems kind of far from the area you order from. It appeared slightly inconvenient for staff to walk all that way to call out a number or order and guests couldn't really tell if their order was ready right away because of the distance and there isn't an open wall to the order area from the dining portion of the restaurant. Drove by this place many times. I was finally in the area at lunchtime and tried a burger and fries. Excellent flavor! I love the free toppings!!! It took a little time to get my food, but it was well worth the wait. The meat has a great cracked black peppercorn flavor. I will be back to try the chicken tenders too. read more

The only reason I stopped in was because I was in the area and have been bombarded with coupon/adds via Facebook messenger for months. The cashier and I were unable to get a redemption code when pressing "redeem in store" multiple times. Therefore, she said she wouldn't be able to honor the coupon. I explained that if she wouldn't honor the coupon, I wasn't interested in ordering. She refused to honor the coupon. I asked for a manager, which she said was not there. I explained to her that they are losing a customer because she will not honor the coupon. She finally spoke to someone, then reluctantly honored the coupon. The $5 burger by itself is the size of a Wendy's Biggie Bag burger without a drink or side but with more toppings, not worth it. As I waited for my food, I witnessed an employee eating behind the food line. I've worked in several restaurants, fast food to fine dining, that's a no no. I opted for the flagship Bumper 2 Bumper with everything (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, American cheese, and their signature Bumper sauce), substituting grilled onions instead of raw, while my wife opted for a standard Bumper Burger, minus lettuce and onion. We split a regular order of fries, which proved to be enough for the two of us. The burgers were freshly made, moist and flavorful, with fresh toppings, all served on a branded potato roll bun. This rating would have been higher if it was based on taste alone, the burger was pretty good - dare I say it reminded me of an In-n-Out burger, which I love and get every time I'm in Cali. The regular fries could have been a bit crispier but I liked the flavor and came in a generous amount (and thanks for just giving me a few catchup packs with my takeout order and not forcing me to ask for them). Drive-through service was friendly. BUT two big things lowered the rating. First, a third of the bun was soggy and the whole thing was dripping when I picked it up, like they didn't shake the grease off the burger. Second, the burger was barely warm (while the fries were piping hot). Definitely add that fried egg for a flavor boost! Regular seasoned fries: Decent portions and VERY good quality. I love my fries chunky and soft on the inside, and this is definitely it. Spicy chicken tenders: Fresh chicken tenders and has a kick to it. I've had better chicken tenders elsewhere tho. Service was decent. Food was brought to our table within 10 min. Yeah!!!! This is a great burger joint! Don't be n a hurry as they make every item to order but the flavor and quantity is outstanding. Don't pass up the shakes. They use a liquid nitrogen ice cream system and the shakes are smoooooth. My favorite is the papaya but that ice cream is always going to make a top notch shake. Overall (B+) Safe bet burger joint when not busy. Will be tough for them to compete with Portillos which is located across the street and is super fast and efficient - but do make a pretty good burger. If I had been super hungry or time constrained I would have been upset. Value (B+) With inflation impacting us all - this is a pretty good value for a premium burger. Paid around $9.00 for the signature bumper 2 bumper burger. (Two meat patties). Would have been around $12 with the combo. It is a filling burger. The menu is simple and straight forward which I like. Quality (A-) It's good! Try the burger one day. Juicy, flavorful, nice toppings. They grill there logo on the bun which is pretty cool idea. The burger had charred grilled smell and taste to it which I enjoyed. Since the burger is so big and juicy I would recommend not getting carry out since it would be more fun to enjoy which at the restaurant. Was hot off the grill! They do a great job with Togo packaging and put it in a nice box. I got my burger with everything and they provide ketchup packets. Which I didn't not use since the burger was flavorful without any additional condiments. These burger was close to being an A burger. Just a bit off on the taste. So close! Advice - improve the speed of service, marketing and brand awareness. I at least did not receive any marketing material and felt like it took a bit too long to have my order ready. Don't locate across from Portillos- find a burger desert and this will do well. You are going to get compared to them. You have a pretty good product and concept but now improve upon it. Help the consumer understand why it takes a bit long to get the burgers out (note I didn't mind because I had time - but took as long as Shake shack on a super busy lunch in the city and longer than That Burger Joint or Epic. Got all the right pieces for a great restaurant just need to put it all together. Find a way to differentiate yourself. read more

We went through the drive through. We ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwiches with everything on it, and 3pc tenders. We were the only ones in the drive through and it took 15 minutes! The chicken sandwiches were mostly batter, and barely had any sauce or anything (even though we asked for everything on them). Super disappointing. This location is bigger and nicer than the Lombard location. We ate inside. It's well-lit, but almost too well-lit like a sterile lab. Service was good, and the food came relatively quickly despite being a busy Saturday night. They brought the food out to our table, albeit packaged to-go. When we went, we really wanted to get chicken tenders for our son, but they were out of all fried chicken. We ended up getting two burgers, a grilled chicken sandwich, and fries. The burgers and fries were very good. Not the best burgers I've had, but if you have a burger craving, these are definitely good enough to satiate that craving. Some people complain that Bumper's burger patties are too small, but I think they're reasonably sized for the price. I've seen places charge $10-$12 for a burger, but here you can get a burger for $7. The grilled chicken sandwich was decent; it just needed something for pizzazz like zinger sauce. read more

I ordered a burger today from this Route 59 location for the first time. I'm reviewing this restaurant because they have a glitch in the menu system and refuse to correct it. I'm on a restricted diet and ordered the burger with NO Cheese, fries and unsweetened tea. What I received was a burger with Cheese and a Sugary lemonade. I was told there are two options for the burger and I chose a burger that did not specify cheese, but would be on it by default?? I've never heard of such a thing and why did I request Unsweetened Tea...bc I wanted to control my sugar intake. Spoke to Chris a district manager and he was less than helpful, so customer service needs improvement as well. Would definitely not recommend this establishment!!! read more
