    Falafel Sandwich And Lentil Soup
    Steve A.

Best place to go to in this grocery store is this counter. Habibi Shawarma is where to get halal and vegetarian friendly items in Naperville Fresh Market. It may look pretty basic, and it is, which makes it easy to make an order. Get a lot of the classics you know best. These include of course falafel. A pretty standard looking counter. It's better than it looks. This is actually next to the dining area so you can get your order and then go right there. Has what's expected. It's about $2 for the lentil soup. Basically known as butt fuel. Keep a distance until it passes. It's about $7 for a sandwich, such as falafel. This comes with cabbage, cucumbers, and tahini. Find this next time the dining area. It's closed Mondays. There's plenty to get for vegans and vegetarians.

Habibi Shawarma is a total hidden gem tucked inside Naperville Fresh Market -- and wow, it delivers! The chicken shawarma is so flavorful and juicy, wrapped in the softest pita. The falafel is crispy, fresh, and full of flavor -- not dry like you get at some places. And the beef pita sandwich is so juicy and tender and smoky! All sandwiches come with hummus, pickled onions, jalapeños, salad, and LOTS of garlic sauce and hot sauce! SOOOOO satisfying! It's a casual setup with a few tables, but super clean and perfect for a quick, delicious bite. The staff is friendly, the portions are generous, and the food comes out fast. Whether you want a pita, bowl, or salad - this is your place to be! If you're shopping or just in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here. It's fast, fresh, and full of flavor -- I'm already planning my next visit!

I have tried shawarma all over the world so to impress me with your shawarma is not easy and this place has done that. Now adays shawarma has also turned into fancy food which it is not. It's a quick food option in middle eastern culture where this provides a quick bite without breaking the bank but recently most restaurants in America portray it as something fancy and has started charging alot of money for it. Coming back to the food, its really nice they make it in pita but not the traditional way, it's more like the persian style where they cut open the top and can then do the filling inside. I wish they toast the pita and it would make it better but even without it the shawarma is still delicious. The price is right. The service was nice as well, I didn't see a grumpy employee or unhappy attitude. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful and patient.

Located inside Naperville market this place has great food at a great price. Nice for eating before/after shopping or just coming in for a bite to eat. The workers are kind and generous with portions.

I love that Naperville Fresh Market continues to offer halal food options. The latest offering is Habibi Shawarma, which I was fortunate enough to visit during its grand opening. It's located near the Taqueria and the produce section (i.e. right side of the store). The menu seems kind of limited, but good enough for a small shop like this. They were offering chicken or beef shawarma pita sandwiches for only $3.95 as a grand opening special. Unfortunately they didn't have fries or schnitzel which were listed on the menu; hopefully those will be offered soon. Anyway, I ordered a beef shawarma pita and a chicken shawarma plate. They also included some hummus, tahini sauce, hot sauce, and amba (?) sauce on the side; beware that their hot sauce is actually spicy. The beef shawarma was similar to gyros, and they generously filled the pita with meat and other fillings; I also asked them to put in some fried eggplant. It tasted pretty good, but was hard to eat like a sandwich because it was so filled. The chicken shawarma plate was kind of boring because it was just chicken, cabbage, and tomato salad. It wasn't topped on rice, but they did include two pitas. It also didn't include fries like the menu stated, but hopefully fries will be coming soon. Not the best Middle Eastern food I've had, but not bad. 3.5 stars overall.

Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from here and need to try others instead.

It's a perfect spot for a date night, happy, hour, or a night out with some friends. Their social hour menu is pretty slim, I decided to get a drink from their regular cocktail menu instead. Since we got there a few minutes before 3 my husband asked if he needed to wait to order from the social hour menu. The bartender seemed put off by his question and it left a bad first impression for me. His shift was also ending in 5 minutes and he asked if I wanted to close out my tab.. At that point we had only ordered 1 drink (my drink) since we were waiting for the social hour deals. I decided to transfer my drink to the next staff member since we just sat down. I tried the spicy lychee margarita and I loved it. The balance between spicy and sweet was perfect. We also tried the truffle fries and I really liked them. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The restaurant was half empty, with plenty of open seating both inside and outside, and there appeared to be 3-4 servers standing around with very little to do. Despite that, they refused to seat our party of six. I'm sure one of those servers would have appreciated our business and the gratuity that came with it. Unfortunately, it felt like the manager was more interested in proving a point than taking care of customers. Definitely not the kind of service I expected.

Last time I went to the taqueria I noticed that a new restaurant was in the works, all the way back behind the bakery. I spoke with the lady and confirmed it was going to be pan-Asian food and all halal! She told me the opening date was November 1st. Today I stopped in, and sure enough it was open. The lady (who I believe is Yola) told me they planned to rotate dishes and will include various Asian dishes, like Thai food. Today they had fried rice, crispy noodles, shrimp, fried chicken drumsticks/wings, chicken lollipop, and diced chicken & potatoes. They even had duck! It all looked good, but I decided to try fried rice with the diced chicken & potatoes, along with a few pieces of chicken lollipop (which is like fried chicken on a stick, or bone). I brought the food to my parent's house for a family dinner. I really enjoyed the food. The fried rice wasn't out of this world, but the chicken lollipop was really good and the chicken & potato dish was pretty good. I love Asian food, so I'm stoked about having a halal option. The food was sold by weight, and I feel we got a decent value. This isn't a place you can go to for a nice dinner out, but a good takeout option. Looking forward to trying other dishes here.

We stopped in for a family lunch and I ordered three tacos--a birria, asada, and al pastor--along with a prickly pear margarita. Everything was well-seasoned, incredibly tender, and tasted fresh. The quality genuinely reminded me of more upscale spots like A Toda Madre or Bien Trucha. The prickly pear margarita was on the smaller side, but they certainly didn't skimp on the tequila. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with my meal. Despite a busy Saturday afternoon, service was quick and friendly, and more importantly everyone in our party loved their food and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and flavorful everything was. We also appreciated the toppings bar and salsa selection, which made it easy to customize each taco exactly how we wanted. My only knock is that several tables sat dirty for a while after guests left, and the dining room didn't seem to get much attention. Since this was our first visit during a busy lunch rush, I'm hesitant to say that's the norm, but it was noticeable... Overall, we left happy, full, and already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.
