I initially had a great experience with Bumper Rescue and left with a good impression. The staff seemed friendly, they inspected my car, provided an estimate, and one of the technicians offered to secure my front bumper with a few bolts so I wouldn't have to worry about it while driving. I appreciated the gesture and trusted his recommendation. Less than a week later, both of my tail lights stopped working. A Toyota specialist determined it was an electrical issue and explained it was being caused by affected wires. Although, they could not confirm which wires until performing a full inspection - he suggested that there is a possibility the bolts placed in the front panels could have caused it because they were replaced very close to wires. He informed me I should reach out to the company that placed the bolts in the car as well as the insurance company and just keep them updated with information as I move forward. A called bumper rescue and informed Nataly what was going on and that my motive was to openly communicate. Unfortunately, I was met with a lot of defensive language and blame placement back on me. I repeatedly said I was only trying to communicate. I was not trying to blame anyone. Comments like, "Well, your car was in a collision," and other similar remarks made me feel like I had to defend myself instead of being heard. It turned what I intended to be a simple conversation into a very uncomfortable experience. Overall, my first impression of Bumper Rescue was excellent and aligned with the positive reviews I had read. Unfortunately, it was the customer service after the fact that changed my opinion. Great customer service allows you to openly express your experience without having to defend yourself. UPDATE: Regarding the Owner's Response After reading the owner's response, I feel one clarification is necessary. The technician strongly suggested to temporarily secure my bumper, and I accepted because I trusted his professional recommendation. More importantly, my original review accurately reflects why I contacted Bumper Rescue. I was following the recommendation of Toyota's specialist to keep the business informed of a potential issue while the cause was still being investigated. That is how responsible communication works, and it remains the reason I reached out. I stand by my review because it reflects my experience and my expectation that open, professional communication should be met with the same professionalism in return. We recently swapped cars with our daughter -- her old, beat up 2011 Prius for our newer, 2013 Prius C. She hadn't taken very good care of the car and there were scrapes and dents all around. However, one dent in particular needed to be dealt with -- the driver's side front bumper which was crushed in, leaving the blinker light facing WAY out of line. Jumped on Yelp to see who was good and local, and quickly figured out that Bumper Rescue in Pacific Beach was the place to go. I went to the website, uploaded a couple photos, and explained what I wanted done. Later that day, Shay at Bumper Rescue got back to me with a very reasonable quote for the repair, giving me a couple of different options. We scheduled the drop-off date -- turnaround was quoted at 2 days. Exactly 2 days later, Shay called to tell me that the car was ready for pickup. The repair was done perfectly -- the area of the dent looks brand new! (I wish the REST of the car looked half as good!) Bumper Rescue has rightfully earned its 5 stars -- I'm a fan. Abraham and George are both untrustworthy. They didnt complete the work that was estimated beforehand and then when I complained about it they tried to charge me more. Rather than call me as they were doing the repair to address what they felt was additional work outside of the estimate to tell me there was more, they "completed" the work. When I went to pick up the car, it was parked very awkwardly in garage to have this specific area in a very dark spot/hard to see. Abraham (supervisor) also inflated the price of the additional work after George had already given me another price. In addition the games they were playing the repairs they made aren't even good. The area they repainted is clearly very noticeable and the side panel they "fixed" isn't event attached the the quarter panel flush as it is supposed too. I would NOT RECOMMEND. Also, not sure why my location is showing San Fran but this is in San Diego. read more

About 5 years ago I had a horrific experience with another local auto repair shop, so of course I was worried I'd have to go through some BS again. Thankfully, that was not the case. This place is AMAZING. I popped in one day (without an appointment) & Al was nice enough to take a look at my bumper. Not only did he access the damage, but he temporarily fixed my bumper (to prevent it from totally falling off while driving) until I could drop it off a few days later. Once I dropped my car off, it was ready for me 3 DAYS LATER! These guys are the real deal. Al & the owner are both extremely friendly & really care about the cars they work on. Not to mention Al did a fantastic job on my car. You're an idiotttttt if you go anywhere else. Hopefully I won't have anymore car issues, but if I do this is the only place I'll take my car.
