Rude management. Very expensive and experienced 3 delays delivering my pick up truck that all it needed was a repair on one body panel. Charged me almost $9,000 probably because I had no insurance coverage. After delivery they sent incessant, almost harassing "customer service surveys" that I decide to fill just to avoid my inbox overload. I frankly gave them a better rating than they deserve (6) and they had the audacity to calle me after to complaint about my evaluation !! Why ask for my opinion the if they cannot take the truth ? Avoid at all costs. This body shop did such a poor job on my repair that 6 months later my bumper started coming off. Upon returning to show them the damage the shop manager told me to leave it for half a day and that they would repair the issue. After receiving a call that my car was ready I showed up to the shop manager telling me they made the damage worse than before. He mentioned that they ordered an "aftermarket part" that was not the correct fitment. That would have been nice to know 6 months ago. The service here is awful, the quality of repair is awful. The communication is awful. The body shop that is now having to perform a corrective repair because of these clowns mentioned that it is some of the worst work they have ever seen. No apologies, no desire to make it right - this insurance approved shop is a joke. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR. Cannot say enough bad things about them. I highly recommend this place. Efren and Irene were always quick to respond as well as how quickly the repairs were completed. They had an estimate back to me the very same day I brought it over. I had got into a minor accident the day before I contacted many auto body shops and this shop was the first to respond! They were very quick, gave me a quote on how much I'd be able to fix my front bumper and instantly went hours later after discussing the details. Other shops were even convincing me I needed a lot more done than my bumper and were charging me an arm and a leg, which was insane! Once I got to the shop, Efren helped me out and took a look at my car, said what needed to be done and we filed papers and went away with fixing my car! My car was suppose to be ready Friday but I told him that might be too late for me because I actually wanted my car ready the same day... so he pushed my car to be ready by Thursday afternoon (I left my car at the shop Wednesday morning) and as soon as it was Thursday and I picked it up... I was honestly so shocked and impressed at how fast they were able to order my parts, and fix my car up like nothing happened!!!! Literally, it looks like my car didn't even get into an accident. I HIGHLY recommend this place! They took me in so quick, and started on my car right away and even got it done for me a little bit earlier than expected. Such a beautiful job done!!! I misjudged entry into an underground parking lot, and the side of my car paid the price. Ouch! My fault, not worth going through insurance with my high deductible. Kearny Mesa Auto Body gave a fair quote, even a discount for paying out of pocket. I dropped off my car Monday morning and picked it up Friday morning, earlier than the Friday afternoon ETA. We called this guy (Afren Hernandez) 9 times during the business hours and no one cared about picking up the phone nor any feedback to multiple messages left on their answering machine! Instead every time we called him we received an automated text saying (lying because his Internet status was showing open!) no one is available, and nothing else! We drove to his shop and seeing they're open but not only don't give a damn about people calls but not even caring about customers waiting and calling them at their so called "Office reception desk"! After 20 minutes of waiting a guy accidently walked in the office smiling at us after notiving we've been waiting and calling for hours and they didn'tcare to respond! After I explained why we're there and said we need to repair a small collision on front bumper of 2022 Honda-Pilot caused by a carwash rail he slowly waked outside and took 3 photos from the collision spot, he said main owner (main ignorent!) Efren Hernandez is not there but he'll send us an estimate by email on Monday! Since I nearly was sure this is a sloppy bodyshop and they may use wrong email address as an excuse to legitimize their ignorence I told the guy to let I send the owner an email directly to avoid any excuse such as wrong email address so he just replies to the email I sent him to give us a repair estimate and he accepted, I carefully sent an email to their business email address defined at their business cards and waited for his reply for 3 days and he ignored to reply with the estimate! Eventually after 4 more calls on Tuesday July 26th Afren Hernandez the main guy pickedup the phone, after explaining that I've done everything his partner asked me to have an estimate and I've been ignored and headed around for 4 days he not even didn't apologize but gave me some nonsense BS! He said "Are you trying several bodyshops estimates to see which one is better"? !!!! (Seems like if I did I've committed something illegal or offensive!) I said I am not indeed, your shop was the first one close where we live that's why we picked you, but he kept continuing his stupid adverserial conversations and gave me another BS! After 4 days of waiting our time, gas and milage to drive back and fort to their shop and waiting for his feedback he said "if you need a repair estimate you have to get "An Appointment a Month in Advance"!!! I told him "I did what your partner required us to do on your behalf for an estimate! You sound like you're setting a new requirements to road block us so you get rid of us"! He said that is what it is! The guy is total "A S S" by full definition which not only missing the basic business principles, has no respect for people's time and business but idiotically flip-flops over his own defined policy to release an estimate! I think by that guy's ridiculous unprofessional and obvious work sloppiness I've got the tip of iceberg what quality of repair we're going to face by such a "Two Jerk Amigos" business quality! I gave up giving him my business seems he sounded extremely unprofessional and head-around at fierst step! My year old Hyundai Sonata was side swiped on the rear panel of the passenger side of my car. I had just parked my car and this large truck was pulling out of his parking space and was careless to say the least. Thankfully, I was just getting out of my car; we exchanged insurance information. Several business contacted me, including Kearny Mesa Automotive Repair. While some were less expensive, nobody said they could complete the work in one day. Based on Yelp reviews, I selected this business to fix my car. Ordering the new parts and getting my car in was efficient. They ended up keeping it an extra day to allow the new paint to dry thoroughly, which of course I preferred ether than rushing a job. I ws even offered a rental car, which I declined. Efren was responsive and professional throughout the entire process. He always provided transportation for me to drop off and pick up my car. And also arranged foe a Lyft to take me to work during the extra day. Overall I had a great experience and my car looks new again. I contacted the shop via Yelp with photos to ask for a quote for a couple very small paint repair spots. My goal was just to prevent spread of rust. (The largest spot was four inches by one inch.) I had to go into the shop to get a quote, which was $1899.00. Maybe if someone has a luxury vehicle that they wanted to keep in prefect condition that price would be worth it, but I drive a minivan.. huge waste of time to try and work with this shop. read more

That said, he gave me a quick quote, and told me to come back the following week. I called, made an appointment, dropped my car off, and got the repair for less than I expected to pay. No BS, no delays, quality work, and a great price. They just earned my business. Chapparone Auto Body on Balboa was closing at 4:45 and told me that my repair would be better served at Carcoa on Convoy. I arrived at Carcoa five minutes later and the operators were long gone. Came here because some jerk hit my mirror and took off. I went to other places for estimates and well I liked that here they ordered my mirror from Mazda. Other places were trying to order each part of my mirror separately then paint it. Ordering the whole thing from Mazda insures that there shouldn't be any color issues or issues putting the mirror together part by part. Plus it's cheaper since you don't have to pay for someone to paint it and put it together. I also really liked that when getting an estimate here. They called Mazda to see if I needed to go to the dealership to have my blind spot detector reset. The other place I went to said oh yeah maybe we will see. I definitely didn't like that. Service was great here they even washed my car. It was so dirty because I was scared to wash it since it had wires hanging out. I'd come back here. They first quoted me $600 on Yelp, but then when I brought it in person they realized it should be a little less and I ended up getting an estimate for $500.
