TLDR: Bunda is great if you like a lot of rules that are inconsistently enforced. If you are new to working out in general, this may be a good option. If you are not new to working out, you will know that you don't burn enough calories to lose any weight and may be annoyed with the constant preaching. Predatory business tactics-they never responded to my cancellation requests. See screenshots. Source: former member, taken 90 classes Format is 3 rounds, where you either start on stairs or the floor, then switch mid round. Butt & leg days requirement equipment, upper body days usually do not. Your total time on the stairmaster is about 20 minutes, which is not much in terms of cardio. That's why they encourage you take classes 5-6x/week to "see results" aka rip you off. Bunda has many rules - arrive 30 minutes before your first class, no entry without Bunda branded equipment, no cell phones in class, don't do your own workout, don't start early so the class can start together, etc. So many rules that depending on the instructor that day or who has front desk duty, you may be able to skirt away without following any. For example, they allow late entry but do not check if the member has all their equipment. As a result, I've had other members I share a station with attempt to use my equipment, which is unsanitary. When I brought this up to the front desk, they said, "just bring the equipment with you". Or you can visually check they have it with them before allowing them to enter class? I've witnessed other members openly use cell phones in class, not sanitize a station after sweating all over it, or staying on a stairmaster all throughout class with no switch - all against the "rules" but nothing is done. There is a huge emphasis on progressive overload, nutrition, and asking for your money. They offered a summer challenge that if completed, yielded a Bunda brand beach towel. To participate in the challenge, however, you had to pay $20. You're telling me I have to pay $20 on top of the $250/month to be part of this challenge? In this economy? Wild. Besides the program absolutely destroying my knees when I had no prior knee pain, and receiving inappropriate modifications (instead of a curtesy lunge, do a B stance squat), the contributing factor why I left Bunda is because of their predatory business practices. I provided handwritten notice (delivered in person to the studio)and notice via email of my request to cancel my membership. They have never acknowledged any of my emails. The only proof I have is a screenshot of a voicemail a front desk associate left me saying management confirmed my cancellation request. If that's the case, please tell me why Bunda charged me for another month. I have called and emailed repeatedly requesting assistance and have received no reply. At this point, join a small gym or find a studio that actually cares about you. Don't give this place your hard earned money - they'll just keep asking for more.

i've been a member at bünda for 1 year now, and it's been a total game changer! i originally joined after taking a class with my previous trainer and friend, jules--fell in love instantly. and let me be clear: i hate working out. i've never been the type to enjoy it; the thought alone used to make me cringe. that's exactly why bünda works for me--a structured class that tells me what to do, how to do it, and keeps me accountable. this community has done all that and more. it's made fitness part of my lifestyle. i actually look forward to class now (who am i?!) because i get to be part of a community of bad ass fellow bundis. and the results? unreal. at 30 years old, i'm in the best shape of my life. i've had to buy a whole new wardrobe because i've never been this small, this fit, or felt this confident. and of course, i'm always rocking my bünda merch with pride! thank you, bünda, for the little waist, strong legs, and big but powerful bünda ;) i love my coaches, i love this workout, and i tell everyone i know to try it. trust me--you'll fall in love too!

If you're looking for a fun workout especially one that focuses on your glutes or shall I say bunda, this is the place for you. Class is structured into three rounds. Each round consists of about 6-8 min on the stairmaster then 6-8 min weight training on the floor. It feels sanitary because you'll wipe down between each round before transitioning with the spray bottle and towel they provide. They also sanitize the equipment between each class. They play fun music to hype you up and the instructors walk you through the movement and form while also challenging you along the way. They do have a different focus by day such as "Arms & abs" "Butt & legs" or "Total Body" The challenges that they do is fun and keeps you motivated in a different way. One of my favorites is the Nov. challenge where I did end up completing 20 classes prior to Thanksgiving! They have foam rollers and massage guns for use before or after class which is helpful! They do have parking and there's also the option for paid street parking as well both in front and side of the studio. Overall, Bunda is a fun workout that pushes you and gives you a mix of cardio and strength training to grow those muscles and I always leave feeling energized. For the days when you want to just zone in and be challenged through a workout with great energy around you this is the place to go! Also love the cute pink vibes they have with the lighting and equipment. One note is that you do have to use their bunda band and ankle cuffs, that you can either rent each class or purchase. They don't allow outside equipment.

The workout is excellent; you will get your sweat on! The studio is small but clean and neat. I've tried many gyms: CrossFit, Barry's Bootcamp, F45, Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates, etc. During the workout, you go back and forth between the StairMaster and weight work on the floor. The energy in the room was 10/10, and the instructor was very motivating. The music was on point! The only thing that didn't sit right for me was that while the first class was completely free, you would have to rent or buy the resistance bands from them at any session after your first one, and NO- you can't bring your own. If I pay their rate, the gym should provide every accessory needed for the workout. That is ironic and greedy; according to their website, the Bunda Journey Membership is $200 (per month) for 30 credits. Why can't the bands be included? Imagine paying for a gym membership or buying classes, and then they try to charge you for using the gym's equipment. I mean, that's why you pay for membership! And why can't I bring my own bands to avoid the fee? It just seems greedy.

    How loud the class was.
    West C.

Extremely Loud classes, unhealthy for anyone's hearing. Class was over 94d. I did have a hearing protection which the instructor Taylor, demanded me to take it off. How loud the class is should be regulated and owner should take measures.

You should expand to new locations around LA. With that said, there is one area of improvement to work on. The lobby. It's outdated and needs a refresh. 1. The black and white photos in the lobby scream 1989. They need to go. Move the very cool "graffiti"style oversized poster to replace the black and white photos. It would look amazing. It's the perfect background for photo opportunities and Instagra. 2. The brass symbol sculpture needs to go. Its weird. It's broke. No need to prominently display something broken. Move the two randomly placed oversized black framed artwork on the back wall to replace the brass symbol thing. 3. The branches on the front counter with string lights look cheesy and cheap. They need to go. Buy 2-3 tall table lamps to go on the front counter instead. First impressions count. These small changes would significantly improve first impression of the gym. Thansk !

A few notes to consider before reading any equinox reviews:…read more* I go to multiple equinoxes in LA and OC. This review leverages the experience of these other equinoxes in mind * Lots of entitled and spoiled people go to Equinox and consider even minor every day hiccups huge inconveniences worthy of the death penalty. They come onto yelp and leave disgruntled reviews. Make sure to adjust for this. Parking (****) - like any gym in LA, real estate is tight and parking validation only lasts for a limited time. Westwood gym is a 2 hour validation and going from the parking to the gym is quick and easy. Above average compared to other gyms. LAFitness right across the street is 90m and you'll spend over 10 minutes getting to and from your car. I still think this is not enough for a gym visit so I take my scooter and dont have to worry about it. I'm surprised there aren't more e-bikes or scooters. Gym layout(***) Also needs the caveat of: like any gym in LA real estate is tight... this means small floor layouts separated by stairs and more stairs. The gym could have been designed with better use of floor space. They have the equipment seprated by type (free weight, assisted) which is unfortunate. It would be better if all the leg equipment was in one place, all the chest equipment in another, regardless of whether it's free weight or not. Still this is just a minor gripe. Customer Service (**) - this is where all the LA gyms suffer. It's just... LA. Compared to the OC gyms the CS is really mediocre but compared to LA it's probably above average. This is probably a plus for busy gym goers that don't want to be bothered with pleasantries but coming from OC, where all the employees give you genuine hellos, smiles, fist bumps, shoot off quirky compliments as you lift, make you feel at home, know you by name...it is kind of dry. Pool (??) - can't really comment as I dont swim but you can see the pics. Not all the LA gyms have a pool so i'm assuming this is a plus. Steam room (***) - just average. The clientelle doesn't quite know how to use the eucalyptus oil spray so it's always musty. Spray that shit constantly on the steam homies. Boxing (*****) - i love this boxing gym. No speed bag but it's a separate room with double end bag, heavy bag, and a tear drop bag. Usually empty. Some people kind of dick around in there for a whole hour but I mostly see people doing efficient hard core works outs and stepping out within 20-30 min. So if you brought your e-scooter, not a big deal to wait for it to open up. Usually empty when i show up Overall this is my go to gym in LA. Occasionally i'll go to culver city or santa monica for a change of scenery but i like this one best.

I'm not sure what that has to do with knowing how to use the equipment at the gym that you do in fact work at. The staff is the primary reason I decided to cancel my membership. They are simply bodies in a chair. They won't help, they don't say hello or greet you, they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. They act like you're interrupting their personal conversation when you need to buy a water or ask literally anything. Cycling classes come and go without wiping the equipment. The cleaning standards here are 7/10. The best selling point here is the pool. It's nice to swim indoors, but there are only 3 lanes. Also, the cycling instructor, (Bernard I believe?) is the reason this gym gets a third star vs 1. Overall, the staff not knowing how equipment works, saying you're SOL when none of their bikes work, and being overall rude and unpleasant really kill the energy here more than I imagined. When I first signed up, I felt like it did not matter if the staff was rude- but here we are. I would rather pay less, knowing i'm going to get sub par service. If I'm going to pay almost $200, I would expect cleanliness and employees who know anything about the gym.

I also told the staff at the front desk, and they looked surprised, but clearly this is an ongoing issue if the cleaning staff already knows about it. On top of that, they charge $1 for parking. With the amount of people paying to use this gym and paying for parking, they should absolutely be able to afford proper extermination and better maintenance. The pool and jacuzzi area were also completely closed off, and there were no clear signs explaining what was being done or when it would reopen.
