We went for an early dinner because they don't take reservations. 1st come, first served. It's a small spot, so spots are taken easily. Parking can also be tricky, as it's street parking only. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I didn't love my coconut margarita, but it was still edible. I just wouldn't get it again. We had to flag someone down for water, extra napkins, etc. The crispy Brussel sprouts were not crispy but were drenched in dressing. When we finally flagged the server to advise her of this, she was submissive, stating that's how they always came, and then she walked away. There was no resolution to our problem that what was on the menu did not match what we received. Chicken wings in garlic parmarsean were excellent. The chicken sandwich had two filets and was good. Menus show the cash and credit card price, which was refreshing to see a restaurant get that right. The bill was a little confusing since it shows a line item as "service charge" but doesn't explain that this is the additional amount owed if paying by charge card. read more

Massapequa LOVES small business, and places like this are the embodiment of why. The food and drinks here are always on point. Even in the off hours the service is great and attentive. A stones throw from my residence, I'm happy to have this establishment so close. They frequently have updated menus to keep with the times. Our food was accidentally served to another table, which sat there for five minutes as the couple was talking over it, and the staff proceeded to take the food from there table and then deliver it to our table, which is a health violation.. she delivered to our table and I refused the food as it was contaminated. Had a great Friday night at American Beauty Bistro. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts from the appetizer menu are a must try. The fried goat cheese was a great touch to the Pear & Fennel salad. And the Horseradish aioli was a great touch to the burger. Menu options have great little tweaks that elevate the menu from an average American food restaurant. Food is always tasty and super enjoyable. Burgers and breakfasts are great! The only dish out of the many I've tried that was confusing to me was the burnt ends. While a tasty outside, they were purely cubed fat.. or at least 90%. So Not sure what his artistic background is with the tattoos, roses and scheduled Drag Queen events, but I have to say it all works and is refreshing. Wow! What a hidden gem in Massapequa! I was looking for a pet friendly outdoor dining restaurant in Long Island and found American Beauty Bistro on Yelp. They have several tables set up outside the restaurant under a giant nural of a girl in a swimsuit. We were quickly seated with our two dogs. We ordered: Spinach and Artichoke Dip - served in a cast iron mini skillet! Good and creamy. Strawberry and Fried Goat Cheese Salad - fresh strawberries on a bed of greens! Perfect for a hot summer day! Peanut Butter Rock Shrimp Bistro Favorite - An interesting combination. i really enjoyed this. Chicken tenders - kid's meal staple...nuff said. Maple Burger - This was really flavorful 3 Cheese Mac - Kids really like the cheesiness of the mac and cheese. Bistro Burger - Great burger! Fancy Chicken & Waffles - southern comfort food at its best. Cod Piccata - Some seafood for variety. It was ok. Ambience: The outdoor seating on a quiet suburban street. The Maple Burger had a fun twist on a classic. Cons: unfortunately, the value isn't here for this restaurant. A burger with fries, salad without protein, split order of avocado fries four ways, and two drinks with tax and tip came out close to $90 for two people. An avocado generally costs less than $3. We got seven pieces of avocado for $9.50. The drinks seemed watered down. They served one of the entrees about ten minutes before the others so it was awkward to have to wait for the others to arrive. Starting with the drink I ordered, it was great! Very refreshing, and just the right amount of cucumber. Two went down realllll smooth. As for the shareables, I really enjoyed the avocado fries with the aioli it came with. They were nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. We also ordered the pork belly burnt ends against my will. Honestly, the name really turned me off. Maybe I'm bias, but I am not a fan of the term "pork belly"-- it skeeves me. Adding "burnt ends" doesn't really help the matter either but I digress. Anyways, the person I was with said they weren't good. Apparently, they were not authentic. As I didn't eat them, I was satisfied with my meal. We also ordered the maple burger. ORDER THE SYRUP ON THE SIDE. The waitress told us that it comes with a lot on it. I am pained to write this review because we had high expectations for a great Father's Day brunch here. With all of the fabulous reviews here, how could we go wrong? We had 11:30 reservations for the three of us, and we arrived about 5 minutes early, and stood in front of the unoccupied reception table. First observations were that it was dark and noisy. Some lucky customers filled the tables outside, and they were served by a waitress who seemed to have ten times too much to do. After ten minutes of being ignored, we came to the conclusion that this place was in total meltdown. After 20 minutes of this, we began to think about some sort of Plan B. When I made the reservation, they insisted on getting my credit card number, so we couldn't just walk out. The bartender seemed to be the one manning the trenches, so I spoke to her, and told her how dissatisfied we were with this whole experience. She got the manager who apologized to us profusely, but her story more or less confirmed what we thought. They were just not equipped to function as a real restaurant on this particular day. As I said, total meltdown. I hope they have a series of better days than this, because so many people seem to love them. Before we left, we looked over the tables of people who were lucky enough to be seated, and noticed that, if they were lucky, they had drinks. We saw almost no food. Seems like the kitchen was in meltdown as well. Before we went this morning, I told my wife that I usually follow one rule - "Don't try a new restaurant on a special occasion." I was invited to come check this place out by the restaurant manager Mike so I looked over the reviews and decided to give it a try and to my surprise I enjoyed myself, I went on Thursday night they had live music and the musician that night allowed his daughter to sing, she was amazing her voice caught my ear, I know she will be the next big star. As for the food it was great avocado fries crispy on the outside and fresh avocado inside and that sauce give me some more lol! I didn't take a picture of my Shirley temple but the bar tender rocks because my drink was perfect, I'm tired of people pouring cherry juice in sprite! The turkey burger flavors combined complimented one another but I will say there's an ingredient in there that's off and gives a hint of a bad after taste I couldn't pin point what it was, I will be revisiting with more people next time around. read more

Finally tried this place. After reading all the great reviews i was pretty excited to check it out. Well big disappointment. Thought we were walking into a nice restaurant but is was a very small pub. About 6 tables inside & 6 on the sidewalk. Ok thats fine i love good pub food! Ordered some apps to start & dinner. 45 min later we still dont have any apps. ‍ waitress says the kitchen is backed up. Hmmmm theres only a few tables & none bigger that a 4 top inside. Anyway we waited forever so i said to also bring the main food when ever it was ready. Apps finally show up, but 1/2 are not what we ordered. Funny thing, we didnt order the quesadilla but it was actually good, the wings we ordered not so good. Main food comes out and the burgers taste like they have been sitting in a pile of salt. Totally inedible, like really bad. The pasta tasted like chicken stock. Do they boil the pasta in chicken stock? Very odd. The staff seemed nice, but no one there was in charge, all young kids, some talking on their cell phones. I never include service in my reviews its just an observation. Deff better pubs to go to in massapequa or wantagh to eat. I did notice they have gimmick nights like drag queen night or some other things. My wife and I were running errands and wanted to grab a bite. My wife had been here before and enjoyed it, so we stopped on in. It was the earlier afternoon and we were the only people in their. It appeared to be setting up for a dinner rush, but that worked for us. We shared a spinach dip, which was standard fare and had some of their premier burgers.
