I came here about a week ago on a Saturday for their Heartbreakers party (5pm-9pm) with a few friends and had a great time! Tickets (~$30/pp) were easy to purchase via their website and they email you the QR code which you can show at the door when you arrive. No need to print the ticket! I was surprised at how big the venue was inside because from the outside, it looked like a small spot. Apparently this spot has been around for awhile because when I mentioned the place to my stepfather in law, he knew about it from when he was younger! The place was also surprisingly very clean and tidy. Coat check was $3 cash and the line went relatively fast. I was really happy they did not misplace or lose my jacket at the end of the night (speaking from my clubbing days from "back in the day"). You get a physical ticket after handing them your jacket and they even tell you to take a picture of the ticket in case you lose it during the night. After getting my coat checked, there was a table with lit up flower headbands and lit up foam sticks. These were both a hit as almost everyone at the venue had one of each. I would say the age range went from those in their 30s up to women in their 50s. Everyone was respectful of each other which was great. The place was crowded but not so crowded that you couldn't move around or felt claustrophobic though at times, the venue did get kind of warm inside. I did not order any food but I think the VIP tables had that option. I also did not order any drinks because I do not drink alcohol. My friends that did drink seemed happy with what they got. There were multiple bars throughout the venue which was great as you didn't have to walk far to get a drink. I had no issues with any of the staff throughout my night. The bartenders were pleasant as well as the staff handling the coats, the bouncers and security. There were two bathrooms (men and women) and there was always a line for both. At this specific party it was females only so staff allowed us to use the mens bathroom. The DJ (DJ Mary Mac) was great and played a good variety of music throughout the night. There was even a portion of the night where January birthday party goers got up on the stage to celebrate their birthdays. Sound quality was great and even though this was a "day party", it really felt like we were partying at night like the good old clubbing days haha. The con is that parking is hard to find so arrive early before the party. It is located right next to the LIRR train station so I guess that's good for those that want to travel by train. A lot of areas around the venue was 1 hour parking until 6pm or 8pm which was annoying because the party I was going to started at 5pm. Overall, I would definitely return for other events! Recently enjoyed being the oldest person at The Warped Tour Band's show on their home turf. Fine work on the "emo national anthem" Cute Without The "E", Fat Lip and many other early aughts classics. Related: who wants to go to karaoke sometime? Decent sound system. A pillar interrupts the view but you'll get used to looking at whichever side the singer's on. Bathroom ratio seems above average for the category. Security/entry process was quick. Near the LIRR. Circa 2004 I saw Gin Blossoms here (no, Google AI, Mulcahy's isn't in New Jersey). TVs for the Yankees-Red Sox were on and the audience was distracted. In my hazy recollection, lead singer Robin Wilson said "my name is Biff and I'm from right here in Long Island." read more

Came here last weekend for a country and house music show. While I found the music was descent and the floors sticky, I really did appreciate the welcoming bartenders and staff. For non-alcoholic beers, they only charged me about $5 or $6, which I appreciated. I also liked that there were multiple bars and restrooms as well. So while it was packed, it didn't feel overwhelmingly crowded. I'll definitely come back for better music and vibes the next time. read more

Saturday 5-9pm party was a Blast! No little kids just us millennials vibing Dj was on point! The drinks could have been a bit stronger but I'm a tequila girl so I didn't have any issues. They also had food to munch on . So much fun !!! read more

Seen many a concert here over the years. Recently moved to the area and realized how easy it is to get here now that I live on the Babylon train line. Saw Say Anything most recently (20th anniversary for I'm a real boy tour) and wasn't a bad view in the house. Like every other LI music venue (I'm talking about you Crazy Donkey, rip) you're getting no frills music with regularly priced beers. They have a good selection at the bars, but you have to be able to post up nearby in order to get their attention. Place is always packed for certain artists. read more

Mulcahy's is an iconic name in the south shore LI bar scene. It's close to the train and easily the biggest bar in Wantagh. They put on all kinds of great events (especially if you're into cover bands), but it's a place that definitely thrives off of its high, club like, energy more than than it does it's chops as a bar. Food selection is nothing special, basically what you'd find at any bar around with finger foods, but it is actually decently tasty, I recommend the chicken fingers and their Bavarian pretzel. Beers on tap are pretty generic choices and plenty of canned drinks too, but if you're looking for something more beer snobbish, you're going to be disappointed. But like I said, you're not going here for the beer, youre going here to dance and see music and party, and this place will deliver that to you just how you like it, but perhaps with a cover fee. read more

I came here last night for the Warped Tour Band concert. The place is nice for a Long Island concert bar venue. There were 2 long bars and the bartenders were attentive. The bathrooms were very clean and surprisingly nice. There were no bar stools or places to sit. What's convenient is that it's right next to the wantaugh train station for anyone who wants to take the LIRR to get here and be able to drink. Solid place for a long islander. read more

i had a great time last night at the Spongebob Rave event they held here. it was a sold out event, and thankfully you still had some room to move around. Nassau and Suffolk have a lack of nightclubs, and lacking EDM scene. the people who attended the show should say enough that we need more dubstep/house/techno events in the Nassau/Suffolk area. i used to have to drive every weekend to Brooklyn (and i still do) to listen to EDM. the bartenders were good and attentive, drinks were poured correctly, nice bathrooms. i really hope they do more EDM events here, i had a blast and can't wait to come back! read more

Wow have not been there for years and now I remember why we have not gone in a long time. $50 to get in. and 37 for two drinks? Way too "controlled" of an environment. Had to sit one section while waiting for the band which was ridiculous since it was a very light crowd due to the storm. Asked for Pino Grigio and they don't carry it....really, in a bar? Tried to give some crappy $7.00 wine. Just an off experience. The band was not good tonight either. Would not go back again. read more

Came here to watch fights this was bigger than I expected on the inside. They had a variety of fight ranging from MMA to mui Tai, and kickboxing. We went to tipsy rodeo last night. What a disappointment first of all the girl who was giving the country line dance lessons was a complete inexperienced and unprofessional Dancer. She may have picked the hardest line dance to do and try to teach everyone in about 15 minutes. We've been to many many Line dance lessons at bars in various places she was the absolute worst... the bartenders are great and as far as country music well it wasn't a country band at all. They played rock music mixed with dance music. Nothing country at all. Again, the worst was the teacher whoever she was should stick to line dancing in her room on TikTok. read more

Good time. Went there to see Clutch. We were by the back bar and it was still good spot. Seen plenty of shows there, but was really disappointed. $10 for a ln 8 oz plastic cup of Guinness!!! But hey you're at the venues mercy. I will definitely go back (depending on the band) but not my place to frequent. Ordered fries and a jumbo pretzel. Won tickets for Drew Baldridge through Country 96.1, hadn't been to this place in years. Guys at the door were nice, our bartender was too and generous with his pours. Food wasn't that good though, only liked the giant pretzel. The spinach artichoke dip wasn't edible and the steak sandwich just meh. No bottled sparkling water available. Saw 2 openers, definitely a great night of music. Restrooms were clean. Big downside is all the standing so make sure you wear comfortable shoes and leave your coat in the car unless you're going for the VIP seating which isn't center stage but rather off to the side. read more

What was once THE place to go to watch football on Sunday afternoons is now a joke. I'm not sure what happened, but from what I have seen and heard over these past few years, the owners have ruined the experience and made their former patrons go elsewhere. The food is still pretty good, but the menu has big turnoffs, like the $16 hamburger, for which you'll pay $1.50 to add a slice of cheese. The place used to be the size of a multiplex movie theater, but now they partition off just the one bar area. Smart move, given the lack of customers (I arrived at 3:15, the height of early-game excitement and there were THREE PEOPLE HERE. (See my photo) And with this limited space, they have three televised channels playing: the game I could watch on CBS at home, the game I could watch on FOX at home, and the red zone channel that I can watch at home. You get the picture...and you could get the pictures for free at home in comfort. The servers are cordial, but you cannot help but feel for them, giving up a Sunday to work and make bupkis for tips; and you needn't listen hard to hear them complaining about the empty place and lack of earnings. All in all, I will continue to stay away. I'll either continue to watch at home, go to a real sports bar, or I will work Sundays and listen in the radio. But Mulcahy's football Sundays are dead! Bought a "standing room only ticket" for some fights and this was a big mistake. A few years ago we were allowed to walk around near the ring. I went here a few days ago and the standing only ticket area was right in front of the bar ONLY. We were a million miles away from the ring couldn't see a thing because they put more tables in front of our area and all those people were standing up. I paid $65 to not be able to see anything. I'm glad I didn't read reviews before attending the Mike Del Guidice Billy Joel band because my experience was positive from the music, drinks/service, and restrooms. There is a higher price to purchase tickets at the door or same day; we didn't take advantage of the food so that may have been a concern if that was my expectation as the luau was pork sandwiches and nothing else. The place was packed and the bartenders were attentive with heavy pours and quick service. Drinks were about $11 for premium which is to be expected. I wish I could say 'I Love this place', because they book bands I adore. What NOBODY adores is to feel harassed, threatened by authority and so uncomfortably shook up, tears arise. I was there the night of Friday 1/5/24 and had a VERY Disturbing experience just trying to enter. I was so distraught I missed the one or two songs I was hoping to see Bumpin' Uglies play, I missed my trains and was late-that's on me. I was asked to remove all metal objects from my pockets. Trying to not bring a bag because I wasn't sure of the policy... so yes, my pockets were stuffed! They had No table, and handed me a teeny basket (maybe 5"x8"!) to hold my belongings for them to inspect. I just wanted to run inside to catch the songs, but the fleet of 6 men with arms crossed would not let me pass until they THOROUGHLY inspected and looked through all of my items...! I expressed to the kind man helping me, please help yourself and look at whatever, I have nothing to hide, just please let me inside! Do I really need to empty every pocket?! [It seemed very unnecessary, I am the farthest thing from a dangerous or harmful person. I heal people with Reiki (God's light) & would get hurt to save a stranger.] This was taking a while because I was fumbling to empty and hold the tiny basket when Mr. I'm in charge of security, BOSS MAN JAVIER decided to "help" maybe to speed me along? (I have ZERO CLUE what his intentions and purpose served, aside from terrifying me!) It seemed like he wanted to insult both me and his colleague, to remind him he's younger but in charge. He raised his voice, to a yell and was just a very mean and nasty person. I will send him light, because he sure needs to be held and told he's loved. Anger can do strange things to people... while I was trying to gather my belongings and go inside he approached me to shake his hand... I never wanted any beef, he brought the nasty and I made a huge mistake of matching his negative energy. I was sarcastic because he was nasty, this enraged him even more! Then when I was inside I had to ask the bartenders if they were working because they had been chatting in a huddle and not tending to the customers... the bar by the front door had nicer people who did their jobs, the back one closer to the stage, they sucked. It's a shame that staff (particularly Javier of security and a few rude/inattentive bartenders) can ruin a good venue with awful & unwelcoming hospitality. Famous pub and venue in Long Island right at the Wantagh stop. The shows I've been to here have been okay and the space is pretty big. The drink options here though were a bit limited - basic kind of stuff like Heineken, Corona. They didn't have hard seltzers last time I was here. They also closed relatively early on a Friday night, like 11p or 12a... not sure about Saturdays. I've visited the side they host the shows but not the other space. read more

Location is great! I like the renovations because the place is nice size. But please tell me, why would you put a big post practically in the middle of the stage area blocking the center of the stage?! And I guess they ran out of money when it was time to update the sound system! The alcohol prices are higher than the usual Long Island rates! I would not mind any of those things, if only the sound system were improved. It kind of defeats the purpose of going to a concert, if I can't enjoy the sounds, let alone understand what the hosts are saying!!! read more

Used to love coming here all the time but for some reason since they updated the sound I can never hear the singers for the local acts. Unless you know the songs the vocals are almost impossible to make out. It could just be me but I've been there a bunch of times since they renovated and yea that's the only issue I have but it's important. Otherwise it's a good time for sure read more

At Mulchays right now to see they Zac Brown Tribute Band. Paid a fixed price for food and drink. We then paid an up charge for Craft beer and Tito's vodka. Waiting a ridiculous amount of time for drinks. I feel like they took our money and we're getting screwed on the drinks. Should be one star but the bad is really good Move to 1 star. My burger came with the wrong cheese. Waitress, who seems pleasant, is overwhelmed. Our group of 12 has been patient but this is awful. Went there last year for a Louie Devito event. They offered ViP for 60pp and it came with credits for bottle service. The ViP section was loaded up with couches as a typical ViP service event would be. Fast forward to August 26, 2023, it turned out the fired the even company and told everyone there's limited availability. We show up to to a half full area of people, No couches, only applebees style seating and they gave us a problem about added 3 more people. They didn't let us know of any changes in the ViP and we were led to believe we were getting what we had last time. This should have been communicated prior to purchasing tickets. Ultimately we will most likely not go back. read more

Food was horrible you can get a better meal at McDonalds. Service is horrendous they are so rude and unprofessional. Bouncers think they are the police, I would like to meet them on the street one day. The place looks like a dump and smells the same. I even saw mice there! I always remembered "Mulcahy's Pub and Concert Hall" for clubbing when I was younger. I only found out recently, they have a sports bar for watching games. So of course this location made my list to visit this Football season. Parking outside on a Sunday is a nightmare! It took at least fifteen minutes to find parking. But once I did, we made our way inside. It was bigger than I remember, it also looked really nice on the club side. We needed directions to the smaller bar inside the restaurant. Once we finally got into the bar, we looked to see what TV the Giants game was on. Interesting thing though, no TV was ready to watch the games. They waited almost two minutes before the game to set them up. After, nearly missing kickoff we ordered wings. I was surprised when they brought on order to the table. I reminded the waitress that we ordered two and she said "I know, your order is being prepared." So I sat and waited nearly ten minutes before my order came out. Once I tried my wings, they were okay, nothing to sing about. Next was my main course. I ordered a turkey wrap. They messed up my order. I didn't complain because I was afraid it would take to long to come back. So I ate it, but it was definitely to dry. The french fries were incredible. No salt and they tasted good. I was definitely happy about that. The burger, now that was something to brag about. I definitely loved the large beef patty. Plus they used so much cheese! My brother nearly took some off (He wouldn't ever remove cheese) because they used so much. I can say, that burger would get me to return. If I was coming here to meet people I would definitely come and grab a burger, but for sports in the future, it's not a good match. read more

I haven't been in this place in over 10 years. It was very cool in the 90's. The landscape has definitely changed and this place has a huge identity crisis and has been built out so many times that it doesn't make sense, has no flow and the design doesn't match in the different areas. Very weird setup. I assume it's all done for catering business as they can close off any of the three rooms / sections. The sound system is terrible for bands, absolutely no low end or bass. And the lighting is just harsh front light on the bands and effect Ied lights pointed in the audience is just blinding the customers. There is also a video wall behind the bands that is not wide enough and is very distracting while the band plays. The whole production appears very amateurish. read more

Rented the private space for a Gatsby theme party it was awesome!!!! Food was also amazing!!! The best price per person you'll get on the island with all they offer. I would highly recommend this place for your next party. You have your own side entrance. And private bathrooms. Own bar. Projectors to display colleagues. Just amazing read more

I'm here for the 15th annual tribute to Ssgt James Mcnaughton. First NYPD officer killed in Iraq. They hold this event every year. Cops, firemen, military and friends come to celebrate his life. His parents are the best and do their best to make it around to say hi to everyone. The bar and its staff are aces. Polite and energetic doing their jobs. Right outside is the Wantagh LIRR station so don't worry about driving. A good place to visit. read more
