The hygienist was very thorough, they cleaned her teeth and polish them. Even I, being her daughter, saw a difference between her teeth before the appointment and after the appointment. I am very impressed with the hygienist at this location. After getting her teeth cleaned, the dentist closed her fillings. My mom was very pleased with the work. She was so thankful that this office was not trying to sell her on things that she did not need to get done. While they did mention her need for a crown, they did not sell her on any ancillary charges or bogus treatments for her teeth. My mom hates going to the dentist. And she doesn't like the dental field because she feels that they're very pushy and the make up charges or work without very much proof. But she was so pleased with this dental office, she couldn't stop stop sharing her experience with me. she's looking forward to her next visit in six months.

Dr. Herbst Informed me that I needed two crowns on my upper left molars. The reason I went to him was that I was experiencing pain and pustules of pus on one of the two molar crowns in question. Several days later, I informed Dr. H. that I was still in pain subsequent to the prescription antibiotic mouth wash he prescribed for me. He informed me that the pain would go away once the new crown arrived. The new crown arrived and I informed him that I had to re-order additional antibiotic mouthwash and my tooth was still in pain. He insisted that everything will be fine once He inserted the new crown. I was very reluctant to have the new crown place over my aching tooth. I wanted him to realize that I absolutely did not want the new crown without further investigation. I informed him that I requested a second opinion from my doctor at MD Anderson. I was confident that he would stop with my request. Dr. H proceeded to Informed me in a manner of authority that I did not have cancer and placed the new crown over my infected root canal. After a Short time, my new crown was seeping puss. When I returned to see him he became very nervous and started to call other dental specialists. I walked out informing him that I would not trust anyone he recommended. Needless to say, my new crown and root canal had to be extracted at great cost. I am very disappointed in this dentist. I could have filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. I just hope that this negative experience will make Dr. H realize that he must have more respect in listening to his female patients, in lieu of focusing on the remuneration he will receive by inserting a new crown.

While Dr.Nab is a well educated dentist with many years of experience, I have had multiple appointments now where his and his office staff's attitudes toward my concerns were a bad experience for me. His office does not communicate well about expectations for appointments, leading to confusion and unpleasant surprises at the appointment itself. At my most recent visit, I clearly communicated my apprehension for the procedure and requested numbing. Dr. Nab did agree to numb me for the procedure, but during the process, when I was reacting to the pain with tears in my eyes, he demanded to know why I was crying during a procedure that "didn't even require numbing". Afterward, when discussing an additional procedure that my insurance won't cover until the next calendar year, I was provided with no other option than to pay fully out of pocket (no payment plan) or to go seek out a dental student to work on my teeth. When asking for his professional opinion in the likelihood of different scenarios based on timing, Dr. Nab even stated in a condescending manner that he "can't predict the future". I was not requesting nor expecting that level of rudeness and refusal to engage in a discussion about my future care, which will no longer be with this office. I caution everyone who is considering Dr.Nab to reconsider unless they don't mind being talked down to, jerked around, and nearly mocked for experiencing real physical pain. Dr. Nab and his staff are wonderful. As someone with severe anxiety when it comes to dental work, they always do what they can to make me feel comfortable and calm. Their communication is clear, especially in regard to the procedure being done and cost. A quote for services is always given before the procedure. Everyone in the office is courteous, friendly, and very communicative. They even alerted me to issues I was unaware of with my previous dentist and helped me recover fraudulent charges. They declared I needed a $3k "deep-clean", discounted to $1500 b/c of my insurance, of which I would pay $1000 out of pocket. When I pushed-back and asked for just a standard cleaning, the dentist said if I did not get the deep-clean, they could be found negligent in care. So I acquiesced and paid $1000 out-of-pocket for the deep-clean. 30 minutes in the chair, I experienced the same cleaning my retired dentist performed as standard cleaning (prior dentist never billed beyond what insurance covered). I cannot recommend Meyerland Modern Dentistry, nor their parent company Smile Generation.

My oral health has been extremely good my entire life. I don't recall any deep cleanings, and I have had my teeth cleaned twice a year for as long as I can remember- going back to childhood. Dr. Tran refused to "approve" a regular dental cleaning for $59 as advertised. He indicated that he was somehow not ethically able to approve a regular cleaning when a deep cleaning is required. While I was waiting/ wasting more time on a young woman to return with price information, I called my regular dentist's office. I've been going to this excellent dentist for over a decade. However, he's out of network, so he"s more expensive for me, and I am between dental plans right now. In dentistry, you pay for what you get. I asked my regular dentist's open, honest, ethical assistant if I ever had deep cleanings, and she said "only one small area." I do not recall even charged extra for the area. My dentist never presented me with a lengthy dental cleaning bill. Look at my attachments. Examine the advertisement- with no "exceptions" listed at all. Read the lengthy, legalistic contractual style itemized bill they were pressuring me to pay instead of actually practicing patient care. TWO HOuRS in this office without going over my X-rays or receiving a cleaning, This is coming from a woman over 50 who has never had a cavity in her entire life. Caveat emptor!

The did 3-D imaging that cost $323 then would not give me a copy of it. I called every week for over a month and they would promise to call me when it was ready, but never did. I was lucky to go to another Prosthodontist who did the same test for free because they knew that I had already paid for it elsewhere. Evolution gave me an estimate of $75K to do work that I have since learned it's totally unnecessary. Do not waste your money.
