I am very glad to write this review on this awesome dentist's office! I would definitely recommend…read moreeveryone in Houston and beyond to come here to receive the best dental care you have ever had in your life! This is no exaggeration, this is simply the absolute caring, timely, and gentle visit I have had to date and I plan to come back real soon to receive a root canal as well as a much needed dental cleaning. I think I will do a whitening as well. It depends how brave I am because teeth whitening definitely hurts. The first thing that struck me when I entered into the office to receive service from Dr. Funmi, a great dentist, is the calming music. It put me at ease right away. While beyond the reception station was the regular bussle of a dental business, in the lobby was calm and soothing. It was very nice. Now the receptionists at the front are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are very invested to help you get care that is affordable according to your insurance or out of pocket pay. Of course dental care is expensive, but there are options. The dental assistants are for sure professional and knowledgeable. That means that they are top tier and have a wealth of knowledge of every dental procedure. That is very comforting when you are getting procedures done. I felt relaxed and at ease. One of the assistants is an actual doctor from another country and he is awesome. Now onto the doctors. They are very very sweet and beyond professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Funmi is the dentist who took care of me and I was so pleased with the care I received. I feel like she could have done my procedures in her sleep. She was so fast and effective in her care. She made sure I was very comfortable and at ease. She not only told me the procedures I needed, she also explained what she was going to do at length so I knew what to expect. Also, she reinforced what she was doing while she was doing it. I did have to be numbed and I was pleased that the numbing didn't last for hours later. I had feeling shortly after everything was done and the pain was almost none hours later! I will definitely be back and of course I highly recommend!

First time here. Scheduled an appointment same day great. My appointment was at 1:30. And FINALLY…read morestarted our appointment at 2:20 ...idk if this was just a bad day on their part or if this is a regular occurrence but it was very off putting as a new comer. Waiting 50 minutes after your appointment time is insane. They also kept trying to switch appointment times/date on us. This would've been okay had I not heard the front desk lady talking to her coworker about " switching a lady's appointment time cause she had to take her son to practice and didn't wanna stay late" very disappointed in the service here. I wish businesses valued our time as well as we honor theirs. Came back here a second time and while in the waiting room a girl who was being treated came out and complained about her wait time and how nobody's checked on her in over an hour. It seems this place likes to take in more then they can handle and WERE the one that pays and has to wait. If what we needed wasn't so emergent, would've gave my money somewhere else. Go somewhere else that will value your money and time cause this place is inconsistent, not punctual and over promises and under delivers.

Said her baby tooth is on watch for a cavity but we will check it in 6 months. Other dentists we have been to would have suggested fillings or caps right away!

Let me start by saying that Deerbrook Family Dentistry is my primary care dentist through my…read moreinsurance company. I had a huge hole in my back tooth that was causing me severe pain to the point I couldn't chew food, even on the other side of my mouth. I arrived and was promptly taken to the back, where I was cared for almost immediately. Saw the dentist and she told me she didn't think she could salvage the tooth and that it would require extraction. She wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and Tylenol 3 for the pain, as well as a referral to an oral surgeon located near the office. I scheduled the consultation (which apparently is standard when needing emergency oral surgery) for the next day at the other facility and was looking forward to having the issue taken care of quickly. An hour before the appointment time, the other location called me and informed me that they did not accept my insurance. So, I called back up to Deerbrook Family Dentistry for a referral to a place that accepts my insurance, only for them to tell me that Dr. Perez only refers patients to that specific facility so it would be my responsibility to find a surgeon to remove my tooth. Excuse me, but I don't remember going to dental school and meeting an entire network of other dentists and dental surgeons. As a matter of fact, I know absolutely ZERO people in the field of dentistry. How am I supposed to know where to find an oral surgeon, considering I don't have a rolodex full of all sorts of colleagues/dental professionals? More importantly, why on earth would my in-network dentist refer me to an out-of-network oral surgeon, knowing full well that my insurance wouldn't cover the visit? How does she not have another facility she can refer me to? The solution I was given was to find my own oral surgeon, set up an appointment, and then call back with the new oral surgeon's information so that they can then send a new referral to the surgeon. Mind you, the hole in my tooth is so painful that I can't even see straight, and I am now having to make my own professional connections in an industry that I don't even work in, just to get my tooth taken out because Dr. Perez only refers patients to one specific oral surgeon and can't be bothered to think of one other oral surgeon in the whole world she could refer me to. So my emergency tooth extraction went from a quick fix to not getting fixed for a month out from my initial visit. I just don't understand the logic behind her decision to send me to a clinic that doesn't accept my insurance and how the process has fallen solely on my shoulders. Like, what kind of primary care is that?
