Ordered 2 Dogs ahead of time by calling it in. I must've gotten one of the owners cell phone because when she answered, she sounded surprised I was calling my order in. Also, she had mentioned it would take 10 minutes. I get there about 11 minutes in and they did not start my order. The dogs themselves were fine (Vienna) but the bun wasn't steamed and definitely tasted a few days old. The fries must've been cooked with some light, cooking oil and wasn't flavorful. As a regular I came in to grab their famous burger and the fries came with it and Bill and Tony are nice enough to bring it to your table to make you feel like family. I've been going there 9 years and something strange happened before it opened the batting gage and mini golf. The property owner demanded them to pay all of their bills that were outstanding before there season began as winter months were slow. I couldn't imagine Craig made them pay before their busiest season which is spring and summer. I've never seen such a rude landlord as Craig is. The way he treated these people who have brought business to him and given a name to the restaurant as the best burger in Lincoln wood. Craig was out of line and I'm not coming there again. And I think Bill and Tony will close up the shop because no one should be under the lease under such a pr*ck. read more

Not only does this place serves up hot dogs and burgers, they are part of Novelty Golf & Games, having a mini golf course in the rear, batting cages, and games. I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Bunny Hutch before. I'm pretty certain that despite the change in ownership/management I could still lay out the menu from memory. I grew up around there and my mom still continues to live around here. However, I was looking for a decent hot dog and Bunny Hutch was nearby. It's definitely gotten a fresh coat of paint on the inside and the bunny out front definitely has had a facelift. They serve pizza now which is new. The single hot dog combo is priced right as well and it's good. The hot dog was steamed and it had a lot of celery salt not a sprinkle, but a mad dash of it, definitely an above average frank and it's cheaper and tastier than going to a local chain. read more

Ordered my usual 2 dogs, fries and root beer. The non-casing dogs was fresh and firm, and plenty of crunchy fresh topping. Love the onions, they were diced to have some in every bite. I wish the peppers were hotter but still they packed a punch. The fries were good not stellar. And I know it's a small thing, but they have bendy straws!!!! REPEAT: They have bendy straws. There's nothing more fun than taking a walk down memory lane. My hubby used to work here when he was a kid, and so it was fun to take our son here for a quick burger and a night of stories from the past. The burger meal deal was $7.59 for a huge charbroiled, juicy, delicious hamburger made the way you want. The bun reminded me of a brioche bun, and the meal was served with a large order of thick cut fries and a can of pop. A good old fashioned great value. Run by two brothers, who were so charming and fun to chat with while our burgers were being made, their hospitality made us look forward to our return visit (which we hope is sooner than later). I was craving a burger and fries, so I decided to try T's Grand Slam! For me and my brother, I ordered a double cheeseburger, 2 polish sausages, and a large cheese fries. It was a tiny bit pricey, but the food was good! The polish sausage tasted grilled and fresh and the burger had very good beef flavor! If you want grilled burgers and hot dogs, definitely order from here :) I used to like the crinkle cut fries before it was T's Grand Slam, so I'm sad that it changed. But, I think the fries now still taste good and I would order them again with my meal. I would definitely come back and try some other things too! read more

Best things about the mini golf: 1. There is no theme. It's all over the place. One minute you're putting through a mermaids mouth the next minute you're goin through the sears tower. 2. This place brings back so many memories. I came here as I was driving back with my son after moving him from one apartment to another after his senior year of college. I had driven by many times but somehow the stars aligned and we stopped this time for a late lunch. Ordered two double burgers and fries (no bun for me) and decided to eat outside on a soon to be steamy Saturday afternoon. First bite was char and grilled meat goodness with hot cheese on the back of the bite. It took me back to highschool, the last time I visited the Bunny (see picture). This is the kind of place that I hope stays around forever. It's the perfect little date night spot or just a place to hang with friends. The mini golf is full of such fun and goofy themes. In my opinion it's a little expensive if you want to do both courses, but I only go from time to time anyway and it's a fun "throwback" experience. The batting cages are also a favorite. I would go just to do those! The food isn't bad either. I've been satisfied with everything I've ordered, just simple good old fashioned options like cheese fries, milkeshakes, burgers, etc. They have a cool old school photobooth, too! Stopped in here to pick up carry-out on the way home on a Saturday evening. I've driven by here for years but for some reason was drawn in this time, where in years past I've just driven by and barely noticed it. I found out why we were drawn in when I talked to the owners while waiting for our order. They're experienced south side restaurant owners who just took over this location last summer, and gave it a huge face lift -- Everything is clean, bright, fresh, and inviting. And it's open year-round, which I guess wasn't the case previously. They tell me it operated as The Bunny Hutch for 68 years! Wow! Now it's T's Grand Slam at the Bunny Hutch. I tried the Italian Sausage, which comes with fries. (Did I want it charred or deep fried? Heck, yes, either, but charred sounds great this time! And with grilled onions, please, but no peppers or tomatoes, and with a little juice but not wet. And they got it perfectly right!) I also asked for a side of cheese sauce so I could dip the fries, not because I'm a huge cheese fries fan, but because because usually hot dog stand fries are too thick and mushy for my taste, and the cheese helps them go down better. When we got home and I dug into the fries (everything was well-wrapped and bagged, and stayed warm on the trip home, too), I realized I didn't even need the cheese sauce (although it was great!) because the fries were thin and crispy, and delicious! The Italian Sausage, served on a hoagie bun, was great, too. The only thing I'll do differently next time is ask if I can have the bun toasted. I ate the fries and about 1/3 of the sandwich at my first sitting (The fries were a big portion! Yes!), then later in the evening I toasted the rest of the bun and heated up the rest of the sausage, put a little of the leftover cheese sauce on it, and had a delicious second meal! During our conversation with one of the owners, he offered us each a piece of their pizza to try. I knew I couldn't eat it plus my order, so I declined, but my husband tried a piece of their sausage pizza and said it was good, and later told me he liked it better than the Lou Malnati's thin crust we'd tried a few weeks back (for the first time, after only eating their beloved deep dish for many years). Wow, that's huge! He said Lou's deep dish is still the best, but for thin crust he'll come here instead. For his meal, he ordered their double cheeseburger and said it tasted "like it just came off the grill -- not like the Burger King grill, but like it just came off the backyard grill." Again, coming from him, this is huge! He, too, liked the fries and the cheese sauce a lot. Each dinner also came with a can of pop. We could have passed on this, since we were headed home and had other beverages there, but it was a nice addition, especially if we were going to stay and eat on site. The price was great -- Under $20 for our two full meals -- And the warm welcome and conversation made the difference between four-plus and five stars. Next time I go I'm planning to try their gyros. I was telling them how disappointed I was that my go-to place for many years for gyros, Nick's on Harlem, had changed their tzatziki sauce a year or so ago to where it was super runny and disappointing. They showed me theirs, and it looks perfect. And their gyros meat is cooked on an open flame versus a coil, which is a big determining factor for me when I'm looking for authentic gyros. (Nick's is open flame too, but many these days are not.) Nick's meat is outstanding, but if theirs is in the ballpark they've just earned a new regular gyros customer, too. I'll report back on that later! The owners told us they jumped at the chance to open this location when the Bunny Hutch became available, in addition to ones they've run successfully on the south side for years. Based on our visit, I think they'll have a long and successful run on this side of town! Ohhhhhh man. Bunny Hutch is such a legendary spot I just have to give them 5 stars. Although this place really does not deserve 5 at all, I just have to give it to them due to the amount of amazing memories I've had here as kid. Growing up, this was not my favorite place to play mini-golf or take a couple swings at the batting cage AT ALL, but every time my friends/family and I would go it would be quite the adventure. One particular time my dad and I went to the cages it was a relatively chilly September day. My pops and I were eager to get our hacks in before the season was over and we decided to go to The Hutch to have some fun. My dad walked in the fast cage (roughly 70 MPH) and the first pitch is wild and gets thrown directly at his head. It was kinda funny we, we had never seen a pitching machine throw such a wild pitch so we laughed it off and he got back in the box. The next 4 pitches were strikes, but the 6th came right at his nose! It popped my dad right in the face! It was crazzzzzzzy. My dad starting bleeding and everything, he still claims to this day his nose was broken but he refused to go to the hospital. The machines were out of sync clearly due to lack of maintenance and upkeep. This is still to this day one of my dad and I's favorite stories to tell. So for nostalgia purposes - I give Bunny Hutch 5 shining stars! But I really don't recommend this place haha. read more

I came in with low expectations for the food and high hopes for a fun round at the batting cages, but I was pleasantly surprised by both. The batting cages were the best fun anyone can buy for a dollar and the hotdogs were the best I've had in Chicago. I love the fact that they don't steam the buns and that its loaded with all the goodies piled on top of a juicy dog. Yum -o. Way better than superdog and half the price. The burger was a dissapointment, but since I shared it halvesies with my man it wasn't a big deal. I quickly forgot how bad it sucked when I ate the dog!
