From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and filled with creativity. The setup was perfect and beautifully arranged with canvases ready for our class to paint. Autumn and her daughter were so kind to even offer to blow up some balloons for the birthday occasion. One of the other perks of this event was that you can bring whatever you want to eat and drink, which made the night even more special. My high school best friends went all out, catering my favorite Filipino dish, Pancit Palabok, alongside their own delicious culinary appetizers like steak crostini. Since I was celebrating such a milestone birthday, my friends from all walks of life contributed to the potluck feast. We also had Korean Kimbap, Greek hummus & chips, flaky Baklava, creamy Leche Flan, and so much more. The mix of flavors, cultures, and homemade dishes made the night feel even more personal and heartwarming. It was great coming back to Westwood Village which brought me instant memories while I was at UCLA. There is something definitely vibrant about Westwood Village and I love feeling its energy. I do have to give the biggest shoutout to the amazing owner, Autumn Flynn, who was so patient with all of us. She walked us through the step by step process of painting the "Inner Goddess within Ourselves," which made the experience so great. Her guidance and passion made the evening feel therapeutic and allowed everyones creativity shine in the most beautiful way. This was such an unforgettable experience that I hope to experience again very very soon.

Lots of kids painting and a mural for everyone to be a part of. The staff did a great job managing the event given there was just one person running the show with a lot of interest. We stopped by to check out the mural and I've painted at the studio before. It's a really lovely place and I was excited to see such a good showing. I popped into These Hands Maker's Collective this afternoon after having driven by it countless…read moretimes but also because I was trying to find a needlepoint kit that I thought they might carry (turns out they don't). Not sure why unwind.studio lists them as a Stockist but alas, it was great to finally have a reason to check this place out. It is a maker's collective so there are various forms of art available for purchase. But, also, they have a variety of classes that I am definitely going to explore their schedule because I am interested in the Dubai Chocolate Bar class and candle making, among others. Definitely a neat space and you can get some inspiration by checking out the crafts available for sale.

He showed us how we would be painting our bears, and left us to it so we could enjoy our time together, but still nearby for any questions we might have. I only wish we had the time to do the blacklight session, but sadly it didn't work out for us this time. We really enjoyed our session! At first, I didn't think it would take 45 minutes to paint the bear, but that is exactly the perfect amount of time you will need. Something to keep in mind is that you will need to leave your bear at the studio to dry to be picked up in 15 days (he will email you once ready), so don't expect to bring it home same day. (We painted the surf shack at Windnsea.) And It's really affordable - $35 includes everything. Paint, canvas, hors d'oeuvres... EVERYTHING! (Other places in the area aren't all inclusive.) It's a really fun night and something different to do in San Diego. For either a girls night out, date night, private party or group outing like we did, I highly recommend it!
