We had a great time wandering around Santa Cruz last week, and one of the cute little shops we visited was Bunny's. It's not all shoes, but you know places with shoes where you always find something adorable that you can't resist, because the management does such a great job curating the place? That's Bunny's. There are pretty dresses on the wall, stuff on shelves all around, and tables with jeans and all kinds of things. Really, you end up looking all over, because the place is so eclectic. For someone who's obsessed with shoes, I'm shocked to say I've never actually gotten shoes from here, but I have gotten some sweaters and tops over the years. The shoes are always what drive me in, but I quickly remember I have too many pairs that I never wear, and instead shop the clothes. They don't have much in terms of clothing, but what they do have is typically cute, comfy, and moderately priced. The trends they carry are very in style, but also unique to the store. I love the boutiquey feel this shop offers. On occasion, they also have some good sales, which usually sells me on whatever I was looking at. The sales associates are always friendly and willing to help, but not pushy - which is a huge plus. read more

I've purchased cute clothing items here before and had a good customer service experience- so 3 stars for that. However, today I was so put off I had to leave. A sales associate practically yelled at a young girl shopping with her mother to "be careful" with the shoes. She ran over and took the shoe from her and said something about it getting dirty. The girl was not super young and she was clearly shopping with her mom 3 feet away. They also immediately asked me to put my tea by the front which is fine, but if announcing rules is the only customer service I get in a store, no thanks. They didn't offer to help or ask if I was looking for anything. I spent my money at Pacific Trading Co. where they offered to help me. Some of the sales associates need to do better here. read more

I really like this store! But I just had to minus one star for their semi high prices. I understand they have to pay their space rent. They have a great selection of shoes here ranging from Sam Edelman, to Jeffrey Campbell, to Jessica Simpson, to Steve Madden, so they get two stars for that. Bunny's, however, will not be getting any of my money. They've made it fairly clear to me that they don't really care for it. Ok, girls... if you can't stand shoe shopping then please sit down and move on to the next review. I get giddy when I see cute shoes. To me, they are the essential part of any girl's wardrobe. Afterall, we have to walk in them so why not look cute doing it! This store carries many of the usual brands and then some, but the collection that they have is unique and fun. Maybe it's the delirous sun fever I develop after a day at the beach, but when I walk into the store I can't help but marvel at the fun shoes that I can afford. Certainly there are practical shoes, there are unpractical shoes, and then there are the ones that fit right in between. They also have an extensive collection of flip flops (hello... we're in Santa Cruz) and purses to boot. Oh, and their sale rack is simply divine! Be prepared, though, they don't seem to have air conditioning so it can get a little stuffy inside. Oh, and if you drag your man with you, leave him outside the door with his blackberry. so I have a job interview in 3 days and i'm panicking because i have absolutely no business appropriate shoes in possession. The thought of spending $50+ on shoes or traveling to Capitola to visit a Payless makes me shudder. Thanks to Yelp, I read reviews on Bunny's shoes and headed downtown. I glanced at the sale rack outside and not a minute later i was holding 3 pairs of shoes. I go inside and only one pair had a size 7. I tried them on and they were perfect! $30 originally with 50% off...i only had to pay $15! it even beats payless! and much cuter too! the rest of the store had ridiculously cute shoes. plus a lot of Ed Hardy shoes/collection items (woo!) now even if i screw up my job interview...at least my i'll look good! read more

Super cute little shoe store with some fun, unique styles as well as mainstream brands. Reasonable prices. It's a very small space so it can get really crowded, but it's open pretty late in case of a shoe emergency. ;) Which is a bonus. Be sure to check the other Bunny's store across the street for fun clothing, gifties (like candles, funky tiki/cocktail chachkis, retro magnets etc), and more. The sales ladies are very helpful. They don't mind getting shoes for you, even if it's across the street. I appreciate that they are interested in helping me find the perfect pair of boots in the best color, size, and fit. I'm extremely impressed with the sales that the store has as well. The boutique is brimming with women's shoes: shoes along wall racks, shoes on tables in the center of the store, and racks of sale shoes outside the shop. The majority of shoes are (1) moderately priced (under $100) and (2) for juniors (brands: Seychelles, Sugar, Fergie, Naughty Monkey). Styles are predominantly casual (flip flops, sandals) but that's probably a function of the season (summer). The shoes seem to be on trend (e.g., fringed, strappy, gladiator) and current and a good number are on sale. They didn't look that well made but they're probably not meant to be worn for long. read more

Tons of realllly cute shoes, lots of them vegan and all of them incredibly cheap. Brands like Irregular Choice, BC Footwear, Seychelles, etc...everything for the budget fashionista. I got some super adorable cut out mary janes with a little wedge that were like $29 bucks. Buyer BEWARE, you may find yourself coming here a lot more than you would like! When I go shopping I am usually pretty good. I have learned to think about what I am buying and I really try to buy things I will actually use. But when I go into Bunny's that all goes out the window. I find myself mesmerised, in a shoe trance that I can not get out of! For a girl I would say I don't really have very many shoes. I rarely buy them. Purses are more my thing. But just about every time I come here I buy more than one pair of shoes. I just can't help myself! The sale rack will get you too. They have some great finds at almost a steal. My best friend worked here for a while and that was so bad. She was always telling me about new shoes that came in.. Stop that! I have to eat don't I? Well shoes do last longer than food... hmmm. MIssion complete! I have been looking for a hot red clutch for quite some time now. Harder than I thought. Store after store after store...no clutch to be found. If I was going to buy a clutch, it had to fit my personality and stay within my budget. Luckily, we walked into the Hat Co of Santa Cruz next door first because we would've totally walked by this store. I love my new hot red clutch! It's not any ordinary design...pretty sexy for a what I found. Will have to post a pic of it soon. I would like to return and spend more time checking out their shoes. A strong 4 stars for Bunny's Shoes. Ive come here before in '09 and got a cute pair of sandals for a decent price. From brands like soda to UGGs and Steve Madden they have a nice range of types of shoes, brands, prices, etc. Today i saw a pretty nice range of shoes on sale and i even got Tall Navy Blue Uggs on sale 30% off pretty good. They had two racks outside of sale and then 4 or so more bookcase like racks of shoes on sale. They have an ehh range of accessories but cute scarves for $9.99 and handbags on sale as well. Crappy customer service. No manager on site to make a decision. Wife bought uggs for my daughter for xmas. They were too big. Unfortunately we were out of the country and unable to get there before 30 days. They stated that their refund policy was after 48hrs and returns after a week. Of course no one mentioned that during the purchase. They would not even exchange for smaller size. I own a small business in sc snd i have never seen anything like this. Avoid at all costs. They have fabulous, fabulous shoes. I bought my favorite pair there - platform heels in a leopard print pony skin. The sales are good, because they discount at 30 to 50%, but by the time they go on sale they usually only have a couple of sizes left. Plus, they sometimes price above retail. When I took home my yummy platforms, I discovered the price listed on the box by the manufacturer was like $10 LESS than I paid. Argh. Also, don't stand around with the sample shoe in your hand, looking hopeful. The two gals in the corner who are having a nice chat, looking like they are there shopping? No, they actually work there. I absolutely love boutiques! The merchandise is usually unique and not massed produced. It is important to support local businesses so I try to shop local as often as I can. Bunny's Shoes is by far my favorite local boutique! There is this location in downtown Santa Cruz, California and another location in Aptos, California. I may be giving away my age here, but I have been going to Bunny Shoes for about two decades! I have watched this boutique evolve from selling exclusively shoes and hats. To their current inventory of shoes (of course), to clothing, accessories, small housewares, home décor, jewelry, books, office decor, candy, and much more! It's my first stop if I am looking for a unique gift to send to my sister in the East Coast. Every time I visit the store I see at least one item that makes me smile and chuckle. Even if you can't find anything for yourself you will get a kick out of the items they sell. It's not just their eclectic merchandise that makes this place so fun to visit but their staff is usually really nice and welcoming as well. The owner's first name is really Bunny and I've spoken to her once and she was pleasant to talk to. The price of their merchandise is reasonably priced in comparison to other boutiques and they have regular sales and a clearance section located at the far left back corner of the store. Every item I have ever purchased from here I have received countless compliments on! I recommend that if you are visiting Santa Cruz, California that you make a point to stop here. It's not a very big store but as soon as you walk in the store you will notice that they go to great lengths to display their merchandise in an eye appealing way. I have been shopping and perusing this store since 1999... found this cute pair of blue, orange and white fubus which I rocked to their tattered death. They have a little bit of everything here, which is surprising considering the size of the store. SUPER CUTE PLATFORMS AND PUMPS! They always have stuff on sale-- and for the most part have a good selection of sizes... always a fun place to stop in and take a peek while on Pacific. read more

I love shoes and I love this store. Everytime I'm in Santa Cruz I make it a point to stop here. They have an amazing selection of shoes and there is always a sales rack outside and more on sale inside-everything from sneakers to high heels and don't forget matching bags. I got some great Ed Hardy slip on sneaker (a la Vans) here on my second to last visit (the last visit nothing was in my size) for like $18. Purchased a pair of Steve Madden sandals Spring 2010, and they're still looking good. The entire store is run well, and has some nice things. There is an excellent range of princes, from the expensive high-end $200+ to some cheap things that are under $50. I kind of wish that the store was a little bigger, or had a little bit more room to move around in. It can get cramped sometimes if more than a few people show up. read more
