I always eyed this store when visiting Capitola Village. I'd always visit right after their closing time so I was never able to go in until a few days ago. The clothes looked so cute... but the employee's intentions were definitely not. When I walked in, I was greeted with a look up and down and harsh silent judgements. One of the ladies followed me around the store with the obvious assumption that I was going to shoplift, which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I do not recall this type of behavior shown with the white women also shopping around. As a hispanic/south-east asian woman, I was utterly offended by this stereotyping! Nonetheless, it broke my heart that the store I've been wanting to shop in for the longest time saw me in that light. read more

Pretty solid women's boutiqe shop more or less ground zero on the capitola esplande. Parking can be tricky. in the winter, in the mornings, and in general in the off season and it's not a big deal. Street parking is randomly possible (free parking in december!) and the lots close by never fill up. come in the summer however and if you're not here by ten am you're in for a park and walk for certain. i think this is the largest boutique of it's type on the strip. More choices then most, better staffing, and overall a great if expensive fashion stop. More or less divided into a section for panty/bra stuff, slinky things, and fashion. While it's been described as conservative, older fashion and that can be true for the some of the tops/pants/jacket combos the beach wraps are very young/fast fashion focused. Something for everyone really. They have that light classy cali look dialed in. Decent amount of the kind of jewelry that costume jewelry was meant to mimic as well. As stated the staff are pretty good at picking out what looks good, making suggestions and soothing over one's spouse who may not feel terribly comfortable in the space at first. That may not be a thing you have to worry about but it sure came in handy for me, and I really appreciate it. Pricing is on the higher side. If you get out spending only a couple of hundred dollars on an outfit you've done well. You'll be turning heads though, so it can be worth it. read more

This is the best store in Capitola. They have a lot of high end designers here. One of my favorites is Maria Bianca Nero and I have purchased many pieces from Yvonne over the years. I like that they have a good variety of tops, pants, jewelry,etc. most of the shopping In Capitola is casual, like bathing suits and beachwear for the most part, so that why Yvonne stands alone in its merchandise. The only reason for the four stars is the customer service isn't so great, I've been treated pretty poorly more than once. Actually I probably won't be going over there much anymore because the water is polluted from the river, I wouldn't put my big toe in that water! read more

Brands like Trina Turk, Goldsign, Yoana Baraschi, Theory, Cosabella... the kind of clothing that not only looks great, but FEELS fabulous! The staff at Yvonnie's is very helpful and it's a lot of fun when they show you different ways to wear an outfit, or what accessories work best with it. What's also nice is that the clothing selection they offer has something for every occasion -- whether it be for work, casual, an evening out, or a party. In a nutshell- I can find more perfectly fitting, great quality, beautiful things in a trip to Yvonne, that an entire day at Valley Fair and its million stores. The Yvonne women know how and what to buy and take the time to help their customers. They actually bring sizes and suggest pieces and outfits to try that I would never consider, but the things end up working better than what I choose for myself! It can actually be quite fun..and I usually hate shopping. They are professional clothiers, friendly and funny... I think the store has been in the family for over 30 or 35 years... that says it all. You don't stay in business in little Capitola (especially if your not serving alcohol) or anywhere for that long unless you are really a special business. P.S One of the darling sales women even ran out and fed the meter for me so I wouldn't get a ticket.... Yelp of Capitola parking control is for another day... we'll keep this positive. read more

I was just in this store and the woman working there was TERRIBLY rude! I could not believe it. A friend and I were shopping around for nothing in particular and after not finding anything to die for (which is pretty much what it should be considering one is paying over $300 for most items in the store) we were about to leave when the woman voiced how appalled she was that we weren't buying any of the awfully overpriced items. this place has a lot of really pretty stuff. I've poked around in here twice. A lot of there collection is pretty, but i don't remember really liking most of it.
