Buns was a cool little college dive spot. The folks running it were nice and interacted well with me and my kids answered our questions and served us quick and friendly. Inside with clean and had a diner feel. The food was good. The fries were phenomenal. I enjoyed my salmon burger, and my kids enjoyed their regular burgers. But the fries were the standout item of the night

Good burger. The cheese fries were not very good. Good vibes. 2 TVs and lots of ketchup.

First visit + great food= I'll be back! Buns is a must visit. The service was fast and friendly. The menu has an array of options, and there is plenty of seating options. We ordered a burger and a hotdog with fries. The hot dog was all beef and the fries reminded me of Five Guys. Buns offers numerous toppings for your fries, burgers and hot dogs. It's a cool place to hang out at during UNC game night.

Monday lunch brought us here to escape the rain. The counter guy explained how the menu worked and what was customizeable. The fire roasted jalapeño burger was so tasty ! I loved the home cut fries too! Ambiance is very cozy with TV's and comfy tables. I recommend Buns in downtown Chapel Hill.

This was my first time here (didn't even know it existed) and it was fantastic! Service was great. Huge burger which was delicious. Definitely look forward to going back!

First time trying this and I decided to try the burger based on Yelp reviews. I ordered a burger on a brioche bun with Mayo sauce and Swiss and grilled mushrooms. The burger was delicious. It was flavorful and juicy and cooked medium the way I requested. I really appreciate a good burger here and there and this did not disappoint. They offer many options when building your burger and the price was reasonable.

A great place for a real burger. Very reasonable prices, large portions but most importantly very tasty food. You can order your burger with one, two or three patties (I go for two, a huge meal but also balances well with the toppings), then get a large variety of toppings and cheeses (most are at no additional costs). The fries are excellent, though I found the sweet potatoes a little chewy. Despite this, the dipping sauces are great, their wasabi mayo is one of my favorite anywhere. I definitely recommend.

Still just as good as it was before! The employees are nice and the food is always great. Best sweet potato fries !!

Great place for a good burger and fries. Got the Cajun burger that has andouille sausage. Delicious flavors and the sausage makes the texture great. Also comes with a sauce that's tasty. The portion of the fries is massive. They are kind of like Five Guys fries but a little sturdier. Not my favorite type of fry but still good. Tried the sweet and sour dragon sauce which was good. Definitely get your moneys worth. Ordered for take out and it was ready in 10 min. Great service.

Casual burger place for a quick meal. We ordered the veggie patty as our burger base and it was good. I saw beans, zucchini, carrots, mushrooms and oat pieces throughout so I could tell it was homemade. Good selection of toppings available. Side of sweet potato fries were a good portion. Big enough to split. Food came out hot and without a long wait.

    Inside. Pepsi fountain drink machine.

It was freezing today outside and we were seated by the door. Everything was fine until the hostess propped the door open. They left the door wide open and everyone in the front seating area was miserable. I asked if they could please close it and I was told no. They said the hostess stands by the door on game days. So they really don't care if their customers are comfortable or not. That says a lot. They certainly could've made adjustments given the cold and windy day. But our waitress was kind enough to move us when a table opened up in the back. That was a big relief and much more comfortable. Now to their food. The bacon cheese fries were great but didn't have bacon so we had to get them to bring back to sprinkle on top. The ranch was excellent and we all liked the app. My youngest got a grilled cheese which he enjoyed. My oldest got a burger which he said was okay, but nothing special. But the real disappointment comes in with the hot dogs. My first dog was cold, like unappetizingly cold. The waitress was very nice and took care of it immediately. However, the second dog came out almost immediately. If you like a boiled hot dog that's reheated in a microwave, you'll like their hot dogs. But I want a quality grilled hot dog. We'll stick to our ol' faithful CH burger joint from here on out. And I hope next time your customers are extremely uncomfortable on a freezing day sitting right next to the open door, you exercise some courtesy and close the door next time.

The Firehouse Dog is a must -- bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick. The cheesy jalapeño dog is everything it should be: melty, spicy, messy in the best way. And the taco dog? Somehow ridiculous and incredible at the same time. The fries are crispy, seasoned, and absolutely addictive, but let's talk about the real stars: the sauces. There are so many good ones that choosing becomes the hardest part of the visit. Drizzle, dip, smother -- you literally cannot go wrong. Even the buns deserve love -- soft, toasted just right, and strong enough to hold up to all that delicious chaos. Everything here is done right, from the flavors to the quality to the fun vibe. Sup Dogs is one of those places that makes you excited to come back before you've even finished eating. Five stars, no debate.

Just your rude customer service alone wins you a nice one star rating. You're in customer service he hospitable. And added extra ketchup since there was hardly any on it (specifically asked for ketchup) Moving forward if i ever come by this spot, i would just get the dog with ketchup and mustard and light steaming of bun They def have the good ice pellets though. 2 stars for the ice and the dog with ketchup and mustard only

We tried both sushi rolls and corn dogs in our 3 experiences as a customer at Mat Jib before: 2 for corndogs, 1 for sushi. The sushis are nothing special here; a bit overpriced for their mediocre quality. However, we'd return to Mat Jib for its Korean corndogs. There are 4 kinds of corndogs you can choose from: 1. Potato + Hotdog (no cheese) - $8 2. Half Half (Half mozarella/ half hotdog - $7 3. Only Mozarella - $7 4. Only Hotdog - $6 As you can see, no matter what we choose, there seems to be something lacking depending on your choice. What if I want a full hotdog with cheese with my corndog? "Oh sorry, you can't have that!" What if I also want cheese if I choose the potato + hotdog option? "Oh sorry, that's not one of the choices either!" If you're going to sell a corndog for $7+, why not fill it up more? In our latest visit, we got 1 Half Half corndog to share. I was standing in front of the Mat Jib concession, waiting behind what I thought was a short line. But it turned out that those people were just waiting for their order and the employee standing in front just looked at me without saying a word. I went closer to the cashier, and ordered that Half Half corndog. She asked if I wanted ketchup and mustard placed on top of the corndog or on the side. I said on top. The service in Mat Jib was kind of slow. There were only about 2 to 3 customers waiting before me, and it took about 15 minutes for our corndog to be ready. We got the spicy popcorn chicken from Love Bao 5 minutes earlier than 1 corndog. Ridiculous! Mat Jib shares dining spaces with other food concessions here in H-Mart, so there's nothing special about its ambiance. It can get super crowded here on weekends, so it might be better to just take out a corndog or 2 than wait for vacancy. We didn't have issues finding a couple of seats on a Wednesday evening, however. We enjoyed the mozarella cheesiness of the corndog and how the breading is tasty with the mustard & ketchup. One thing that annoyed us was how the hotdog inside was little since it's half; it was more like a Vienna sausage. Nonetheless, it was the most delicious corndog we've devoured together, a more satisfying choice than Mat Jib's sushi rolls and most of what you can get from other food concessions in H-Mart - Cary. | Overall Score: 3.3/5

Until we visited, I didn't know this was Chapel Hill's first and so far only beer garden. It's located just one block east of the Carrboro-Chapel Hill border, on popular West Franklin Street. The business opened in October 2021. Over the last few years, my wife and I passed by this place several times, saw all the people enjoying beer and food outside, and it piqued our interest. We're glad we finally got to check it out. According to Chapelboro.com ( https://chapelboro.com/news/business/beer-study-moving-to-new-chapel-hill-location-new-bar-taking-over ), the folks behind Franklin Motors renovated a small building previously owned by Franklin Street Auto, LLC. That's presumably where the "Motors" part of the name comes from. There are several auto shops in the immediate vicinity, including one I went to often: Automotion. I highly recommend them, by the way: https://www.yelp.com/biz/automotion-carrboro There's a Town of Chapel Hill gravel parking lot that you can pay to park in, adjacent to Franklin Motors. We parked for free on the street (South Graham Street). Compared to other beer gardens I've been to, Franklin Motors is one of the smallest and most humble-looking. The business sits on an unassuming corner lot. It's a simple, sort-of-makeshift spot that gives off vibes of an independent garage. You can get up on the rooftop, which is nice, and they also have a dedicated food truck on site: Roquette at Franklin Motors. The building has an indoor space on the ground level. Outside, it's gravel and there's a canopy -- that's where we sat. We couldn't get the fans to work. We stayed for hours, into the night when the property was string-lit. There was also a fire pit. This place is good for groups. We had a group of eight. It's also dog-friendly. Here's what my wife and I had: Drinks * Pimms Cup (forgot the price) - Pimms No. 1, lemon juice, cucumber topped with ginger ale * Middle James Great Musa Hefeweizen, 4.8% ($7) * Noble Wild Berry Knight Cider, 6.0% ($7) Food from the Roquette food truck * Mac & Cheese ($10) - fresh cream, Ashe County cheddar, toasted bread crumbs * Hand Cut Fries ($8) - hand-cut potatoes, parsley, rosemary, thyme, and housemade roasted garlic aioli (and ketchup). * Pineapple Chipotle Tacos ($18) - braised pulled pork, simmered in a pineapple sauce, chipotle, coriander, ginger, and orange, with avocado, pickled onion, cilantro, and queso fresco * Sliders (pick 3 for $15) - we got 2 Cheeseburgers -- Baldwin Beef (Yanceyville, NC), tomato, pickled onion, roasted garlic aioli, toasted brioche bun; and 1 Cajun-fried Chicken -- pickles, house slaw, roasted garlic aioli, toasted brioche bun The drinks hit the spot. The beer selection was good. Decent variety. The cocktails were standard. The food was OK. The only underwhelming dish was the mac and cheese. While the portion size was generous, it didn't taste significantly better than instant mac and cheese. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you expect better when going out and paying $10+ for mac and cheese. I did appreciate that it was made with local cheese. Everything else was pretty tasty and again, generous portion sizes. The fries were nicely seasoned. We wanted slow-cooked duck leg instead of braised pork on our tacos, but they were out of duck. That's alright. The tacos were meaty and filling. The sliders weren't bad. The beef in the cheeseburger sliders was a bit tough (well done to overcooked), but that was fine. Better safe than sorry. The Cajun-fried chicken slider was tasty enough. Some of our friends got the Caesar Salad ($10). It looked fresh and yummy. Portions on that were generous as well. Service was fine. We visited on an ordinary summer Saturday and stayed from about 5 to 9pm. There was a slow, steady stream of customers and it never got too busy or crowded. I wouldn't mind coming back to hang out and have drinks with friends.
