    Stacked Sutton's Club Sandwich Combo
    Kristine U.

I met my boyfriend here for lunch and it's a super cool spot on UNC-Chapel Hill's campus. This place has been around for like 100 years! Lots of history. We both had stacked sandwiches and they were massive! Reasonably priced too. I liked the fact that they used the small ice cubes in their fountain drinks. We could only eat half of our sandwiches and had to take home leftovers. We would definitely return!

I can see why the drugstore makes it on so many popular tourist lists. My son and I ate here for an early breakfast on a Saturday. We were early enough so it was not busy. The staff was very nice. My son ordered the omelette with ham and I ordered the pancake combo. all of the food was simple and delicious. The pancakes were so good. My son loved his breakfast and even ordered an extra egg. Other diners were also friendly and it was a nice place to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast.

It's an interesting and historic place for Chapel Hill. I will say prices are pretty good but you get what you pay for. It's pretty simple food- I got chicken waffle bits and onion rings. Wasn't super impressed with the food but maybe will try something new next time. Unfortunately I don't visit often and so we sat at our table for 25 mins trying to catch our waitresses eye before realizing we had to go the front to pay, and pick up our own food trays? We were a bit lost as to what we were supposed to do and the waitress didn't check on us often so not really pleased with the service. I guess they assume that the restaurant has been around for 100 years so new visitors should know how things work? Regardless it's a better stop than any chain restaurants taking over Franklin lately.

I've been wanting to try this spot for so long and I'm so glad I did today with my friend. It's such a chapel hill classic spot that's been here for over 100 years though the hours are a bit limited unfortunately. We came right before the lunch rush which was good since it got real crowded! Service was good and friendly. I got the cheese dog which was really good. I also got the bbq sandwich and sweet potato fries which were also great. Good food at good prices, excited to come again!

Great food and a great price. Step back in time and feel like you are part of the family!

While you may think you are walking past a little market/drug store, there is a whole restaurant inside! Sutton's is the cutest little diner with such reasonably priced food. So many classic burger and sandwich options to choose from and they give a generous amount of food (especially for the price!!). The staff is all very hard working.

I was driving from Washington DC to Jacksonville and decided to stop in Chapel Hill for lunch. I happened to get a parking spot right in front of this place, so I decided to have lunch there. It is nicely decorated with tons of UNC jerseys and pictures, so it is a fun place to grab a quick bite to eat. The grill smelled great, and the menu had plenty of sandwiches, wraps and salads to choose from. I ordered the chicken tenders salad, and it was good, but after smelling the onion rings, I wish I had ordered them. Maybe next time!

A Franklin St staple. Got in around 1130 and just beat the lunch rush. No frills, classic sandwiches here - I got a turkey reuben and it was great, I appreciated that they used a thick-sliced and grilled turkey instead of the usual deli meat. Service was fast but as you can see, this place fills up!

Inside the store is a old-timey general store front with a huge selection of sodas, candy, and jams/pickles. Behind that is a classic diner with a plethora of photos from customers who have ate here (photos range from children to celebrities like Rob Lowe!) The food at this diner was incredible. With such a wide selection of foods and all at an affordable price, it was difficult to choose what to eat. The flamethrower hot dog lived up to the name. Super hot with siracha and jalapeños, I thought it was too much at first, but as I continued to eat it got better and I began to appreciate the way it blended with the hot dog. The chili on the fries was fantastic and well seasoned, but I wish there was a little more. The tuna sandwich was very light and refreshing, pairing well with the complementary chips. I was really surprised by how filling the food is and even struggled a little to finish. Definitely give this place a try if you haven't, just make sure you get there before they close (2:30pm).

Cozy booths and photo walls make a great place for casual meals! Service is superb. I love the cold coffee.

Everyone else in the dinner party that had not eaten the muscles was fine. The service staff was over-extended. We had to ask the busing staff to get our waiter so that we could order and later in the meal to refresh our beverages. And finally, our dinner party was seated in the very furtherest back room that features an exit door with a large lit up exit sign over it. The room was not really fit to seat people at that price point. There are no sound buffers in the back room. It is akin to a large storage area with artwork on the wallks. There was no way to hear anyone talking at the table due to the roar of the sound bouncing off the walls. The room should not be used for seating at Tandem's price point. The Firehouse Dog is a must -- bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick. The cheesy jalapeño dog is everything it should be: melty, spicy, messy in the best way. And the taco dog? Somehow ridiculous and incredible at the same time. The fries are crispy, seasoned, and absolutely addictive, but let's talk about the real stars: the sauces. There are so many good ones that choosing becomes the hardest part of the visit. Drizzle, dip, smother -- you literally cannot go wrong. Even the buns deserve love -- soft, toasted just right, and strong enough to hold up to all that delicious chaos. Everything here is done right, from the flavors to the quality to the fun vibe. Sup Dogs is one of those places that makes you excited to come back before you've even finished eating. Five stars, no debate.

It was freezing today outside and we were seated by the door. Everything was fine until the hostess propped the door open. They left the door wide open and everyone in the front seating area was miserable. I asked if they could please close it and I was told no. They said the hostess stands by the door on game days. So they really don't care if their customers are comfortable or not. That says a lot. They certainly could've made adjustments given the cold and windy day. But our waitress was kind enough to move us when a table opened up in the back. That was a big relief and much more comfortable. Now to their food. The bacon cheese fries were great but didn't have bacon so we had to get them to bring back to sprinkle on top. The ranch was excellent and we all liked the app. My youngest got a grilled cheese which he enjoyed. My oldest got a burger which he said was okay, but nothing special. But the real disappointment comes in with the hot dogs. My first dog was cold, like unappetizingly cold. The waitress was very nice and took care of it immediately. However, the second dog came out almost immediately. If you like a boiled hot dog that's reheated in a microwave, you'll like their hot dogs. But I want a quality grilled hot dog. We'll stick to our ol' faithful CH burger joint from here on out. And I hope next time your customers are extremely uncomfortable on a freezing day sitting right next to the open door, you exercise some courtesy and close the door next time.
