We did not see the doctor. We made an appointment for 11 and arrived on time. After waiting 25 minutes in the waiting room, I asked how much longer we needed to wait to see the doctor and the receptionist answered 15 more minutes because there were two more patients ahead of us. I don't believe in waiting for 40 minutes when an appointment was made. If there was a situation that caused the delay, there needs to be an explanation before being check in. Please don't waste people's time. The reason for the two stars was because making an appointment was easy, and they did a great job reminding us about the appointment. read more

The new office is nice and spacious. Dr. Craig and Wayne are professional, respectful and provide accurate information about the diagnosis. As any business, employees are an important key for customers to return and make business in the future but when the employee shows lack of customer service the experience is different. Unfortunately, one of its employees is quite pushy and very annoying and does not understand about the clients needs like providing a nice friendly environment, proper space to surf and choose the proper frame. Her insistence is so high and and the look for new frames turns unpleasant. I changed my mind and decided to go to a different place to find new frames. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars i would because they totally deserve it. I swear the office staff works on commission because they are illiterate money grubbers and try to vacuum as much out of pocket money out of you as they can. The staff tried to up sell everything and anything they could think during my eye exam including extra sessions to learn how to put on my contacts.. not needed, I've worn contact all my life. They DEMANDED I pay $65 out of pocket for the "deluxe" eye exam which included a follow up visit but dude, i just wanted the exam and I'll pick up my contacts cuz I know what I'm doing but no, the girl would not let it go. And when it came time for glasses.. geeeez :( The girl okayed and verified the estimate for my glasses with her manager to make sure everything was good. Fine. I have pretty bad vision and I'm okay with spending a couple of hundred dollars out of pocket to get a nice set up which includes a good discount from my insurance, no big deal. But, at the end of the week I received a phone call from this place saying they got it wrong and certain things were not covered by my insurance and they wanted $350 extra??? So that's $550 out of my pocked not including the $130 covered by the insurance??? No way. I cancelled my order and got my money back. I have never paid over $600 for one pair of glasses. Good thing I waited to find Eye Lab because OMG are they the bomb. They actually make the lenses on location and have two panels of frames to choose from. Oh, and when the front staff gave me my prescriptions, they were blank. Good thing I noticed when I got home because when I went back in person to get my money back they signed the prescriptions with another Doctors signature. I had to go back a third time to get the Eye Doctor who did my exam and who's name was on the prescription to sign by her printed name. What a waste of time. I went here because they advertised that they take care of or specialize in people with extremely low vision and yes, they will take care of emptying your bank account it you let them. Worst service ever! Do not go here! It has been over 2 months since my exam. No glasses and won't return my frames that I bought privately on Amazon. They didn't like that and tried to sell me their frames. I wanted to use my own. They don't return calls. They try to sell you things you don't need. They give you the run around. They keep telling me that the lab messed up with the lenses and the lenses won't pass inspection. Three times?!!! Absolutely horrible front office staff. I recently took my 10 year old son to have his yearly eye exam. I want to mention I had a Saturday appointment and was seen within about 15 min. Fantastic!!! The staff was very nice and helpful. The exam was very thorough. The doctor took her time explaining everything. Unlike other optometrist' Ive seen that just want to rush you out. We were then shown many frame & price options. Bridgette was very helpful and took her time. We got to choose a great pair of glasses with a fair price. All in all great experience. read more

If I could I would give them negative 5 stars! Since we have the option to order glasses at Warby Parker and other online retailers at a fraction of the cost, this office is playing games to make it impossible. I was there 2 days ago and said specifically that I will order my glasses online. I even asked for 2 copies for my prescription. The 3 girls at the front desk and the person taking the glasses orders were there and helped me with all the printouts. However, they did not tell me that I will not be able to order any glasses without my Pupillary Distance. I called to ask about it and was told that this is not included in the exam and I have to come back and pay an extra $10 for that measurement. Why on earth would I get a prescription for glasses and not be able to use it? All along they knew I need it and nobody said anything so I, as a client not ordering from their overpriced frames would be taught a lesson! They have my measurement from the last time I have ordered glasses there 2 years ago but still wouldn't give it to me and I was told once again that I have to go back and pay for that. This is pure extortion and they call it an Office Policy! Who is going to pay me for my lost time!?! My insurance paid for that useless exam! I told them to reverse the charges and I will give them the prescription back since I cannot use it without the measurement! Of course, the answer again was "No. Office Policy" If they have told me on the spot I would have paid the extra $10 even if it was unfair, but no, they have to waste my time and play games! I guess this is done to discourage ( actually make it impossible ) to order glasses, but this is not the way to keep your clients! Optometrist offices are EVERYWHERE! With my vision insurance I seem to be paying quite a bit more than my previous optometrist. But going to a local place with a friendly staff makes up for me driving across the Valley to Porter Ranch where the staff was not very friendly at all. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday and met Dr. Hoeft. Parking is a little limited, but the inside of the office is nice and modern. There appears to be a lot of staff and they were all very polite and well mannered. After a 30 minute wait (not awesome), I finally met Dr. Hoeft. He apologized for the delay and told me an emergency had come up, which I appreciated because otherwise I would have stayed irritated. We then had a good conversation about my issue (my eyeballs), and I felt he gave me a strong plan for addressing my concerns and really gave me a structure for 'what to expect'. I felt 100% clear on the services I received, how much it was going to and did cost, and I feel confident Dr. Hoeft is going to work with me on a continuing basis moving forward, which is nice. Overall I was happy with my visit, and will definitely return. It is just really hard for me to completely get the bad taste out of my mouth when I sit in a reception area for 45 minutes (they requested I come early to fill out paperwork), and at one point I had to ask one of the ladies "what is going on- am I ever going to see the dr."? Someone really should have updated me that an emergency patient with a problem had come- or even better- CALL ME and delay my appointment. I have a job too people, and it's important too. So I was on the verge of 3 stars but Dr. Hoeft's personable manner and intelligence in dealing with me pushed me up to 4. read more

Please be very careful as to what exam they perform on you. I declined one of the exams prior to going in to see the doctor, and once I was finished they slap me with the co-Pay of the exam I had declined from the beginning. It was literally a regular eye exam and all of a sudden only because we discussed the words "contact" it's an automatic "contact exam?" I have been going with Dr. Gordon for years now and am so disappointed with how they sneakingly attempted to push that fee on me, knowing I had already declined. As much as I think Dr. Gordon is a great optometrist, this is not an appropriate way of dealing with people, specially when we have followed him to his new location. Will not be returning. read more

I went to get an eye exam and contact fitting by Dr. Hoeft and he is a very nice and funny man. He did the eye exams and explained every step on the way. Bridgette was very helpful too letting me know the prices and explained everything in clear detail. She also recommended if I wanted to apply for care credit because I didnt have enough money to pay so I thank her for letting me know about that too. I highly recommend this place. A++ read more

I went here because they had great reviews. Everyone is super nice but I've been here 5 times so far (3 exams and 2 times to try my new glasses) and they can't seem to get my prescription right. Went in for my first visit with Dr. Wayne Hoeft after having been with my old optometrist since I was in first grade (I am now 27). The office is pleasant, with very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. The doctor was just as amazing. He was able to recommend glasses that worked well with my specific eye conditions after a great exam process. The exam itself was very thorough, and while the doctor explained what he was doing as the process progressed, he also gave me an overall explanation at the end of the exam. He answered both my and my wife's questions, before, during, and after the exam. The doctor's assistant, Ms. Carmen Trujillo, assisted me throughout the entire frame selection process and made recommendations based on my specific taste (I am very particular about my frames). She was patient, and very friendly. Likewise, they treated my wife, who doesn't wear glasses, like part of the office family and even gave her a little present on our way out of the office. As a customer service supervisor myself, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I wish the doctor and his staff nothing for the best, and will recommend his office to my whole family, friends, and co-workers. read more

I read some of the reviews before I started to write mine, and I have to say that most of those low reviews that are negative are from people that want to spend $0 and get free glasses! Unfortunately most Vision Insurance Companies Benefits are somewhat limited, thus,the covered items are very "basic" materials. I have been with several Insurances and worked for HR AND ALL are the same, limited benefits. Which then comes to the real picture that most people DO NOT want Limited Benefits, they want to wear the best frames, the best lenses, with the best options. I believe when it comes to the care of your EYES & VISION we all want the best, which takes me to my REVIEW: You will first get the best service from the girls in the office and the most professional/Thorough exam that you can get from Dr. Hoeft! The stock the office carries is also very broad, you will get basic frames but you will also have the opportunity to choose from the best designers in the market as it is obvious that this office keeps up with the demands of the ever changing world of fashion. As far as the wait, if someone feels waiting for the doctor 30-minutes is too much, these people need to refocus in the fact, these doctors take your exam very serious and their out most attention to YOU the current patient seating on the examination chair! So knowing that I will get the best exam in town, means waiting and extra 30-minutes, or getting the time from the girls in the office in choosing the best option for me, and knowing this is a ONCE a YEAR exam! I took my daughter here and the Optometrist misdiagnosed her. He wanted to keep seeing her and wanted to bill my Medical Insurance. He should not have been treating her once he knew this was a job for the Ophthalmologist. The correct thing for him to do was refer me to a specialist. It was a very traumatizing time for my family since the diagnosis he gave me could have meant she was going to be blind. I told her Pediatrician about the diagnosis and she referred me to the Ophthalmologist. Thank the lord he was dead wrong and the Dr. was able to correctly diagnose her. I called him once I seen the Dr. to be removed from there records. My family was no longer going to visit that office. I spoke with the Office Manager who assured me she would relay the information to the Optometrist and we would be removed. I kept receiving calls, voicemail's and mailings. I called several times and they continued. When I finally called back and raised hell I think they got the point. Haven't received anything since. Sad that a customer has to go through hell for them to get the picture. I would not recommend this Optometrist. read more

I took my 4 year old son in to be seen after failing the vision exam at his annual Check up. This place is AMAZING. Not only do they see pediatric patients (most places I called won't see peds until they are 7) but they are open on Saturdays. The office is small but clean the girls up front were friendly. We were taken back within 10 mins after getting there. We were taken back and they did a few tests-they took longer then usual but we were never rushed and the girls didn't get annoyed or frustrated with my son. We were immediately taken to a room and the doctor walked in mins later. She introduced herself and greeted my son and started her exam. I did not catch the dr name but she was so calm, patient and caring. His exam took a long time since well he's 4 and can't sit still for long. She was sompatiemt with him. He had a very hard time when she was trying to check his eyes (you know the bright light) but she took as much time as he needed. Never rushed him and work with him to fully complete the exam. After his exam was finished the girl from the front occupied my son while I picked out some frames with the other girl. She picked frames my insurance would cover and were cheap-I know he will either lose or break these. Not to mention he looks adorable in them. I used to go to linden optometry for myself but I will now be going to Burbank Family Optometry. They are fast and courteous. The front office can really make or break an office and the girls here are amazing There some reviews on prices quoted. Know your benefits. I'm new to the world of glasses, I went here for my sunglasses in 2012 and was really pleased, however this year, I go in for my yearly eye exam in an effort to take care of my eyes. I get charged an additional $25 for a 'picture of my eyes' what the heck-as far as I can tell a complete waste of money- please refuse this 'service' I had been warned of the $25 material fee, and this is just another ploy to take your money. Then we go to the glasses. It's all selling you these more expensive frames, with these lenses, because they do this and are NEW and your old glasses didn't have this, and you want that. I don't appreciate being taken for a ride or being told what I need. Just give me what I ask for, the new prescription with similar lenses. I don't need the new light weight trendy whatever. I know glasses cost a bit, I realize that you need UV protection, and sure maybe the insurance only covers part of things. But there's just something about eye doctors, no prices are ever listed, they circle things and fill out something really fast and suddenly you've spent all this money. I'm not going back. read more

I just went for an appointment to get an eye exam and to replace my old pair of glasses at this facility.I was seen by Dr. Wayne and he is undeniably knowledgable and was able to answered all my questions and help me with my concerns. The staff was very helpful and friendly. As soon as I arrived I was seen ASAP, I didn't have to wait which I loved.There was a staff member Ana in particular which was extremely helpful.She had great tips on which pair of glasses would work best for me and was very patient while I made my selection.I had a great experience and I would highly recommend this optometrist office to anyone!!! read more

First visit. Took our elementary school daughter for an eye checkup; her first formal one actually apart from the ones she gets annually at school. Arrived 15 minutes early. Everything went smoothly & on time. The office staff was efficient & polite, from the receptionist to the young lady who did an initial checkup before doctor Jim Caballero took over. He was very friendly right from the introduction through the entire thorough checkup process, & seeing off. He answered our questions with clarity & didn't make us feel victims of what I call 'medical upselling'. We appreciate his integrity in telling us that though our daughter was almost negligibly nearsighted, her eyes were perfectly fine enough to not really need glasses at that point (we were quite relieved to hear that!). He gave us the choice if we still wanted glasses as some parents chose to, but agreed that often getting glasses too early might lead to a greater increase in a child's eye no. over growing years. We were also happy to know she didn't need to come in before another year. Will be happy to choose this optometry again for any eye business concerning my kid, my wife, & myself. read more

I got glasses at Burbank Optometry in Oct 2010 and was very satisfied with the whole process... very helpful staff and timely delivery of the glasses. When I went back for my contact exam Feb 2011 (waited for the new year because of insurance) I was quoted a co-pay of $60 and I asked twice on the phone because I wanted to have the exact cash. I was told the whole exam would take 30 minutes... well yes the exam did take 30 minutes but I had to wait 40 minutes to get to the exam. When I first went into the room the young lady that brought me into the room said that the fee (not sure if it is a co-pay or fitting fee) would be $75. I told her no, that I was quoted $60 on two occasions. She then led me out of the room to sit down once again in the waiting area while she talked to someone... ok the fee will be $60 she said. She then did 2 quick initial tests then led me into the exam room for the doctor. On the positive, Dr Craig is very engaging and explains everything well. My prescription IS very high, I have mono-vision and would prefer not to wear "readers". After his exam I was told to talk to the insurance (benefits) lady to give me a price. Well she said that since it would probably take more than two visits to fit me properly that the fee in addition to the $60 would be $275 up front!!! WHAT?!? I said I was not going to pay that and that is why I have insurance. She then talked to the doctor and came back and said she could lower it to $195 (she told my insurance company she said the "special" price was quoted as $175). I still would not pay that. I gave her my $60 in cash, got my receipt & left. Now because of this rip-off technique I have to wait until NEXT year to go to another eye doc if I want insurance to pay (WHY am I paying monthly premiums!?)... oh, I do have a free sample of saline solution that I paid $60 for... I am ashamed this is going on in my fair city of Burbank.. next stop Chamber of Commerce and BBB!! read more

I went to this place for the first time a few months ago. I had been putting off getting new glasses forever - like 8-9 years forever!!! I was convinced that the Dr. was going to tell me that I basically needed new eyeballs. It was quite the opposite. He assured me that my eyes were not nearly as bad as I thought and put me at ease. After much deliberation, i finally chose my favorite frames within my budget and I'm on my way. The girl that was helping me tells me they will be about 1 1/2-2 weeks but probably sooner. The very next day, my glasses (which were my backup glasses) break!! I immediately called the office and explained what happened. In return, they called the lab that same day for me & asked if my glasses could be rushed. They also said they would call me the minute they arrived. Not being able to see very well, I got a little antsy and would call to see if my glasses arrived in the daily shipment. Everyone that I spoke to was very kind and empathetic & wasted no time in checking the shipment (even if it hadn't been opened yet) for me. The glasses arrived much sooner than expected and the office called me immediately! I can see again!!! These folks went out of their way to help me out in cruddy situation.
