Came to Michigan to visit my younger brother, and my partner and I are very into wine tasting and just happened to be curious enough to look for one around the area we were in. We got to this place and were a bit timid. It looked like a house from the outside but, as you walk in, it's a wonderful looking store and winery. Everyone there was very nice to us. They were very genuine and forward with any answers they had for our questions. They serve cheese and crackers, kinda like smaller charcuterie boards so you can enjoy as you wine taste and they sell their own wine glasses as souvenirs inside the shop. For the wine tasting, they give you a menu of wines with their flavor profiles and a piece of paper where you write your desired sips to give them so they may prepare it for you as you go to your seat. They have outside seating and during the fall it is an amazing experience! I can't recommend enough coming to visit this place at least once, if you're in the area! It's a cute little place to come visit and the wine is very good! I recommend the A Maize 'N Blue if you like sweet wines! read more

My partner and I randomly found this winery when we were visiting his brother. We were kind of iffy about entering because the location looked like a house, so it seemed kind of sketchy, but I guess it's true what they say never judge a book by its cover. The inside of the winery was super cozy. They had a seating section outside which was wonderful because it wasn't too cold or two hot, the weather was perfect. They offered a variety of wines. These included a preset menu or we had the option of choosing the wines we wanted to try. We also bought a charcuterie board which consisted of cheeses and deli meats. I bought some jam to spice it up. The wines and food were great! Finally the girls who were serving were super friendly. I would love to go back when we visit Michigan again read more

While on an impromptu road trip on the first 70°day we saw a billboard for Burgdorf's Winery. Went to Yelp to read the reviews which were good so we decided on a visit. Glad I read the reviews beforehand as it made finding it much easier. I knew to look for a house and what exit to get off so thank you fellow Yelpers for that info. It's right off the road and there is a sign so it's very easy to locate. The inside of the Winery is very nice and welcoming(as is the outside). Their is a nice bar counter to have your tastings at in the main room and one in the next room as well. We actually met the owner when we arrived who was very sweet. As was the rest of the staff. If you're looking for a special gift they have those. Decorative wine glasses with cute sayings on them. Aprons, coasters, mugs. Looking for a tasty treat instead? They have locally made chocolates, jellies, dip mixes. And of course WINE!! That's why we came remember. I have to say this is one of the few places I've went for a wine tasting where they actually had wine offerings that tasted decent and not just the sweet offerings many places have. Often the"dry" wines at other places aren't really dry and instead are overly sweet. Now they do have a large section of sweeter wines thankfully because that's all my husband likes or will drink. But for the rest of us they have us covered. I didn't try a wine I didn't like. I went with the dry whites, all but the Dry Riesling and one red, the Cab Franc. The Blanc was my favorite, I also enjoyed the Pinot and the Chardonnay. You can choose five samples for $5. Not bad, although as others have mentioned, the samples are on the smaller size compared to what I've had. But they are good and they are worth it. They offer crackers for cleansing your palate between tastings and my husband enjoyed a few chocolates in which to pair with one of his wines (remember he went with the sweet variety). The Ice Wine, his favorite and I also thought was tasty, was an additional $2 but seriously with all the work that goes into making them I'd charge extra as well. I did notice they had some cheese and cracker offerings you could purchase for snacking on as well. One of our favorite things after the tasting was heading outside to the back where there are tables to sit, relax, and sip your wine. I had purchased a glass of the Blanc. There glasses of wine are $7. The backyard area was very nice and peaceful. You could also see the building in which they make their wine. Would be great if they offered tours inside . Really great place and we truly enjoyed ourselves. I hope to be back next time we are out that way. read more

We stopped here and this place quickly became our favorite. My wife became a member, so she gets extra deals. The wine selection is mostly made from grapes grown real close to the winery. Most of the wines have meaning to their name. We have had a few different staff, most are very friendly and welcoming. Some more than others. We will continue to go here frequently. I do wish they allowed you to uncork your wine you buy there. You can buy a glass to enjoy on the patio. There is some wine decor items for sale. read more

I was in Lansing with two girlfriends with some time to kill, so we figured we would check to see if there were any wineries in the area, and we found Burgdorf's. We called to ask if they have food to snack on, and the owner (I am drawing a blank on his name!) answered all of our questions, but then told us they were closed on Mondays. However, he told us to still come by and he would open for us, which was super sweet of him. We pulled up and saw that it was just a house, and we were confused but since it said tasting room, we figured this had to be it. Once you walk in, it looks much more like a winery with a bar and some wine related gifts. We were given a sheet of all of their wines and got to pick 5 to taste for $5. All the wine we tasted was good, and I liked the Finlay's Reserve the best. We all bought at least a bottle of wine to take home and all purchased a glass of wine and some cheese to enjoy out on the cute patio since it was a nice day out. I definitely recommend you check it out, but there were two things that made me rate only 4 stars. The first is that the owner pushed me to try a white wine when I don't like white wine. He said that all of their wine is good and I have to. I just don't enjoy white wine as much as red, so I didn't like feeling forced to try one when there were other reds I would have liked to try. The second is that the taste you get is very small. It's about one kind of big sip or two very small sips. It was actually hard to taste the wine because you got so little to taste. He did give us a few extra tastes for free, which made up for it. But if he doesn't always offer that to others, you don't really get a lot for your $5. read more

We had a pleasant time visiting Burgdorf's Winery in Haslett during the Wine Days of Summer Picnic Tour in August. The winery is to the east of Lansing in Haslett( i would call to get directions) off of 127. Outside the winery is in a lovely mid-century spacious home. The wine-tasting and buying takes place here; the wine-making takes place in back. In the house is an excellent gift shop dedicated to all things wine: wine charms, cheese-cutting boards, t-shirts, Michigan dips and snack foods, and a great Michigan fudge using the winery's Perfection wine. Of the wines we sampled, we loved the Cayuga and the Perfection. The winery just won a gold medal for their Marquette wine a red, and it will be available once the labels are made and ready for use. The owners are gracious and knowledgeable and the wines well-balanced and full-flavored and wonderful! read more

We stopped by on Sunday of Memorial weekend. As always had a great time. Tasted 5 wines and bought 3bottles. The Elderberry wine is a great dessert wine. I normally as not a fan of fruit wines, but this is wonderful. Not to sweet not to dry. Do yourself a favor and try/buy some. We also purchased Finley - red blend of Merlot, Cab and Pinot Noir. Hello Yelpsters... I am happy to report that upon this visit to Burgdorf's Winery they were open and boy did they remember my rating! I am pleased to say that I had a much more pleasant experience this time around. They were generous with the sampling portions and the wine was lovey. The Niagara and Chancellor were among my favorites. Also they offered locally made cheeses for a small fee to accompany the wines... (Stilton was well worth it). Do not go here as there are other breweries that will give you your moneys worth and a quality experience. Horrible experience after loving this place for so long. We booked double the amount of time we could in order to enjoy a Saturday morning with friends Amongst the four of us. We put down a $200 deposit two weeks in advance and they stop serving us once we reach that deposit amount, which was of course within the first hour and a half. It's extremely unfortunate that we went hours without service. Go elsewhere! read more

What an amazing experience. I went to Burgdorf's yesterday with 2 of my girlfriends. They have tents and igloos for individual parties to dine safely. The service was incredible and the wine was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and even offered to take a group photo for us. I had a chance to chat with the owner and he was very kind. What an amazing winery! The owners operate right out of their home and backyard and they were very welcoming! Both were very knowledgeable and we could tell they really take pride in making sure they deliver a quality product. All of their wine is made from 100% Michigan ingredients, which is really cool, too! We got a tour of their winery and I could not get over how clean and neat everything was. We ended up leaving with about 18 bottles, but our favorite wines were (in no particular order): Vidal Blanc, Pineapple, Perfection, St. Croix, Cayuga, Spartan Red, A Maize n' Blue (They had this one mulled with a cinnamon stick and its name says it all! SO good!), and Wolverine White. So glad I finally got a chance to visit Burgdorf's! You should definitely stop by if you are ever in the area! read more

We booked a group tasting back in December of 2012, and could not have fit in more fun if we had tried. We found room for 20 relatives, tried 10 wines, and learned quite a lot from Dave! He is very funny and a truly delightful host. My favorite wine is the Red Raspberry. It is AMAZING! Even though it comes in such a small bottle, it is worth the price. You at least need to try a sample when you go in. We also really enjoyed the Spartan White and Strawberry. I always ask for their wine when people ask me for a christmas wish list or birthday ideas! read more

The Burgdorf's are not only humble and gracious vintners, but also exceptional winemakers. The dessert wines are phenomenal, but be sure to try and sample all of their wines. I have been back multiple times and am just as pleased every time. We really loved our wine experience at Burgdorf's! We weren't sure what to expect as we pulled into the driveway of the Burgdorf home in Haslett and found out that half of the home has been converted into a winery! We went inside and the room was filled with every type of wine accessory you could imagine! Colorful wine clocks, corkscrews, books, shirts, wine glasses, and much more! It was very quaint and there was so much to browse through! We were greeted by Jessica who is the Marketing Director of Burgdorfs and she gave us a tour of the winery and gave us lots of great info! Jessica took us into the tasting room and introduced us to Emily who told us all about Burgdorf wines and poured us some wonderful samples of their passion! There were so many great wines to choose from, it was hard not to try to taste them all! Dave and Deb Burgdorf even stopped into the tasting room to make sure we were having a good time and we were enjoying their wines. We were! We even met the Burgdorf Winedog "Buddy" who was very friendly and playful! Everyone was so hospitable, friendly, and knowledgeable! That means alot in this day and age of getting you in and getting you out quickly. They spent time with us and gave us all the information we could handle. The wines were very good and very tasty. There was a wine for everyone! For those who love sweet and syrupy to robust and dry! We live near Detroit so this was only an hour away and worth the trip! My wife and I went to this winery expecting a fun time. Unfortunately we will not be returning. Immediately we were not very well attended. We were not offered any crackers/chocolate whereas other people were. We were given the very smallest sip, not even a sip making it hard to taste... nothing I have ever experienced from other wine tastings. It was like they were cheap. We bought two bottles of wine. We wanted to have a glass on the outside patio, only after buying the wine we were told we cannot unless we pay an additional 10.00 for cheese and 5.00 each for glass. This is after we paid 45.00 for two bottles. Overall it felt clumsy, cheap and unprofessional. read more
