We gave this place a second chance because my sons school was fundraising there. Nothing had changed. It's a chaotic layout with bad food.

Solid 4 stars, very friendly crew, very clean restaurant. Concept is fun and good options, ordered the black and blue salad, hubs ordered the black bean burger. We split the half sweet potato and regular fries basket and relished in about 10 dipping sauces literally...yum. management is attentive and everything was delish! This is by far the best burger joint around! My wife and kids are not huge fans of burgers but this place made a liver out of them all. The service was very fast. We thought like most places we would have time to sit and talk before the food came out, and were amazed at how fast our order came out..... and it was correct. Good service but the food is terrible. Sadly, 5 guys is better than this. The quality of the beef is gross, it's gamey and mine came out over cooked. They have a counter of sauces to choose from, all of which taste super sweet. I'd never choose to come here over a place like Counter Burger. read more

I dont know why I keep craving burgers but tried out B21 again. Its pretty good but all n all still feels too "fast foody" overall to me to make me go out of the way to come here often. Expect tons of kids/families at this popular joint. The service is good. I would not say B21 is as good as Melt Gourmet overall. Prices are way higher than standard fast food but there a lot more choices, even gluten free now (yay!). I got a free chocolate chip cookie by Yelp check in and I must say it was outstanding! A little bit greasy but very fresh, melty chocolatey chip goodness that tasted right out of the oven fresh baked. Really loved the bacon cheeseburger that I ordered!! Really good burger! Think this will be my go-to place for burgers! Just need to remember to not come in when the high schools aren't in session... Great place for the family My husband and son are huge fans of burgers and love this place. My daughter and myself often choose other items, which they have plenty of. We have been here multiple times since it opened and still enjoy it but as other reviewers have mentioned, the quality of some things have gone done. The managers or owners used to make the rounds but they seem to longer do so. Declining services results in a loss of stars. We have consistently gotten good food here but the service is on the steep decline. You need to search for a clean table and the wait for certain things can be really slow. One thing that I have noticed is that they bring out the fries ahead of everything else. I don't want that. My fries are not an appetizer, they are part of my meal. Don't send them out early. The staff is young but the food is good. I have had several different chicken burgers and they are always juicy. My daughter loves their chicken fingers. Burgers are cooked medium well but you can ask for something else and it comes out as requested. Every month they have a burger (not necessarily beef) of the month along with a shake of the month. The food is great and you can customize anything on the menu. Burger 21 is worth the stop. read more

My family went here for dinner tonight. The staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was clean and modern. We loved the different sauces and the burgers were good, although smaller than I anticipated. The buns were not as fresh as I expected, either, but still ok. I think where they fell down was on the sides. We ordered a "large" tray of fries for $7.99 to share among three people (9'e of them a child), but they were very skimpy on the portion. My wife was astonished when I told her this was a large, and when she asked the staff about it they told her that corporate sets the portion size and there was nothing they could do. My family comes here regularly for their burgers, shakes, and more. Quality food, which comes out consistent and tasty. We have dined in and ordered takeout frequently. Today their milkshake machine was broken but they weren't able to update the website. Instead of refunding just the milkshake, Sondra who helped me, provided incredible service and refunded the whole entree. I'm picky about my food and visited Burger 21 this past weekend after seeing good reviews on yelp. I ended up going TWICE this past weekend because the food and shakes are unbelievably tasty. The burgers taste fresh and there's a variety of them to choose from. I've had both the vanilla shake and oreo shake - both are some of them best I've ever had. the burgers are good. the cashiers are super friendly. this place would have gotten 5 stars Except for one little mishap by the table staff. I asked her for a knife and fork only because I saw her bring out proper silverware to another patron. her response was "there over there". not quite the customer friendly response. hopefully this review allows for an opportunity to fine tune their staff. Just as I'm writing this, one of the friendly cashiers came by and asked how everything was. This nice gesture actually made me add one more star to the review. Good save. read more

I was totally craving a good burger last weekend, and was not interested in the same old Red Robin/Fudds etc. On advice from other yelpers decided to try Burger 21. It was REALLY good! Great, solid, JUICY burger - I just had a good old cheeseburger. And do yourself a favor and try all of the different sauces. The Thai Ketchup is as advertised... I could eat that stuff on just about anything it is SO good! Will definitely be back soon! read more

Before the three stars throw you off, this could easily have been a five star experience. Maybe it was the dreary day, the fact that we walked in between lunch and dinner, or that everyone in that place was just off, but the food was not worth the lack of service that we experienced. Upon entering, no one was at the front ordering desk, so my party and I roamed around aimlessly until we walked back up to ask for some help from the float station. This was when a high schooler comes strolling up to us, and just motioned for us to move over to the front ordering station. She asked us if we had been there before, to which I responded, "no, first time, I've heard a lot of good things about you guys!" Now, when I've said this before at our places, I've been welcomed with recommendations, or at least a smile, none of which was made this time. Now, let's get to the food, it was beyond good for Ashburn, the burgers well made, the floats even better, and by the time we were done, we were ready unbutton our pants and walk home instead. The Thai Ketchup had to be the best ketchup I've tasted, and when I went up to the sauce station, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who was ready to tell me all about their sauces and which ones would go perfectly well with our burgers. Overall, my experience was dwarfed by the lack of service by the staff at the front desk, high school girls texting on their cellphones and taking orders while smacking gum in their mouths. I might go back, solely for the burgers, but definitely not for the service. Sad to say that an oversight on hiring people who actually want to be there will cost this place some customers. read more

Yum! I am not a burger person but my husband has been wanting to try. They have some cool other burger options that are not beef- I had the shrimp burger and it was awesome. There's a sauce bar too with neat flavor a like "toasted marshmallow" which is great in the sweet potato fries. My husband also loved his cheeseburger as did our three year old. She ate more than she ever does. I think as loudoun station grows this place will continue to be popular and get more traffic. It was just start to finish casual dining good. read more
