On a biz trip and I find a gem! The burgers here are no joke. Look at the pictures! The pulled pork egg rolls = OMG! The Burger = WOW! Highly recommend this jewel in Johnson City! I saw this restaurant on Yelp and thought I would give it a try. Walked up to the main door and it was locked. So I called to see if they were open, they told me to use another door. I was drawn in for the Hilton honor points. I purchased Parmesan French fries with garlic aioli. I would have to say subpar. It was just fried with Parmesan shavings that look like they can out of a bag. My entree was the 8oz steak. I subbed green beans and mashed potatoes for my sides. The steak didn't have much flavor and the green beans and mashed potatoes were cold. I asked for a steak knife and they didn't have one (how do you serve steak and not have steak knives?!?!) Had a hankering for steak and it was storming pretty bad outside so I headed down to the burger bar and to my surprise they had one on the menu. We went for a burger before our movie at 9:10, we arrived one hour before. There was no one there to greet us and we waited at the host stand for five minutes before a waitress came to say "give me a second I've got to find a table." The place wasn't that busy and there were at least three waitresses on staff. We ordered one burger to split and two orders of fries. The service was the worst we have ever had. Professionalism nor excellence is employed at this establishment. I placed a to go order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. When I arrived my food was not ready so I waited an additional 15 mins. While waiting, I asked the server that I was dealing with for 2 bbq sauces to go that they were not placed in my bag. My food was very poorly prepared and I was skeptical about consuming it. My Parmesan fries tasted like the cooks got them off of someones plate, who returned them, and put them in my box. They were extremely lukewarm and my turkey burger was burnt. I called to address this grievance the next day(Monday), because I ordered my food around closing time, and spoke with the manager. She assured me that her boss would call me the following Tuesday but he never did. The Director of Food & Beverages- Neil Moore finally called me on Wednesday and he was extremely rude and dismissive. It was almost as if I was inconveniencing him because he had to do his job. He proceeded to aggrandize himself and discount my experience. This did not sit well with me because I paid $16 for a overcooked burger and lukewarm fries and was subjective to low quality and extremely unprofessional service. Excellent! Highly recommend for a good burger and AMAZING sweet potato fries. We had great service at our table by Michelle. She was very personable and was very helpful with our dietary requests - even reviewing the ingredient list for sauces and reporting back to us very quickly. My husband and I both had beef burgers with a ton of toppings. Lots to choose from. You actually use a dry erase marker on the table to check off what you want on your burger on the menu. I liked that because I could see what toppings I was ordering and how they would go (or wouldn't go) with the others. The burgers are really big with all the toppings and one order of sweet potato fries was plenty for my husband and I to share. I liked the atmosphere - nice upscale burger joint. Whatever you wear to Outback or the like would fit right in here. Did see a few business people dining alone in their business casual.. Overall, go - it's wonderful! Yes, it's in the Doubletree, but ignore that - its fabulous. *We went on a Monday night around 630 and nearly had the place to ourselves. This place has great food! But that's the only thing good that changed. It use to be an amazingly huge sports bar and it use to be packed and it use to be fun. This is what happens when corporate gets involved. At least its the best style burgers in town. But if it would revert back to the Fanatics sports bar and keep the food it has now in would be there every weekend like most people. Unfortunately now I only go a couple times a year. read more

My husband and I stayed at the DoubleTree and had dinner at the Burger Bar. We were so happy with our experience. We were saying we would come eat here even if we weren't guests at the hotel. This was possibly the best burger I have ever had. I basically got to customize my burger with my favorite things I put things that I have never had on a burger. It was cooked the way I like and well worth the money. The fried pickle chips were good and the staff was very attentive. I also liked the sports bar feel. Ordered a turkey burger to go. It had obviously been waiting for me in the freezer so to compensate for the temperature gap, they freaking took a half an hour to burn it for me. Great burger. Build your own with any fixing you want. This rating would have been much higher. But, service is important. I ordered a yuengling beer in the bottle. The waitress brings the beer out already poured in a glass. I ask: Why did you pour the beer in a glass? Have been to this place a few times now, and it never disappoints. I've had both a burger and the turkey burger and they were great. They also have the best sweet potato fries with the best dipping sauce I've ever had. They give you a little board you can mark whatever you want with a dry erase marker so you can do a create your own type thing. It's a little weird since it's attached to a hotel, but I highly recommend the food read more
