    The Outlaw with cheese curds
    Michael W.

So I saw the Yelp reviews and thought I needed to try this place. My impression is it was OK, but not great. I had the Cheesesteak with Onion Rings; my wife had The Outlaw Burger and Fried Cheese Curds. The fried food was just OK; the oil tasted fresh but the Onion Rings were not crispy and tasted oily; my wife felt the same about the Cheese Curds. I had high hopes for the Cheesesteak when they asked me if I wanted Whiz or Provolone (I went with Whiz); everything was there but I wasn't wowed by the sandwich. Service was great and it was a pleasant interior. I cannot say anything bad about our visit but nothing great, either.

Food-WONDERFUL! My burger was juicy and cooked just as I ordered it. The bun was toasted and buttery good. I like it when buns have a little crispy buttery edges and the hamburger did. Everything tasted so fresh. The service was OUTSTANDING. The prices were comparable to other places in the area. The restaurant was clean. The place is decorated in a western theme and it is tasteful (pun intended). The hot dog with the melted cheese was warm and so good. I like it when restaurants don't skimp out on cheese. They give you plenty. I didn't get a chance to try the salad but it looked incredibly good. I read some other reviews about their onion rings and I agree. The outside is crispy good but the actual onion was mushy. I'm okay with this because I like mine that way but I could see where someone may not. The fries are delicious though. I don't know how I've never eaten here before but I am hooked now and I plan on trying everything on their menu.

Always great. Patty melt was awesome. A tad over cooked for what I love. I DID NOT tell them to only cook medium. But still tea great. The Mrs. Got a chili cheese dog that she always likes. We will be back. You should go too.

    Breakfast Burger

Mid City Grill Kingsport. Top notch breakfast. They are open Sat/Sun I think at 9am... It was super clean, staff was great. Best breakfast I have had in Kingsport and def top 2 for Tri-Cities for me. There should have been a line sadly we were the only people there! This is a hidden breakfast gem. After over indulgence this was primo hangover cure! I got the breakfast burger, which had hashbrowns on it, bacon fried egg cheese, and a ginormous 8 ounce patty . It came with bloody Mary mayo , which was awesome! the morning taters are the crown jewel of breakfast potatoes they were absolutely perfect. My better half got the philly steak omelette, you can see it was massive! Every bite was delicious! Each entree was $11.99 amd we had left overs. I hope more people will go and check them out for breakfast . They told us next time to try the pancakes so that is on our agenda, but I will always have to have those morning taters

    Really good breakfast this morning!

$15 Philly cheesesteak was disappointing... like a huge let down. Fries were pretty good.

We went on a Tuesday evening and there was only a handful of patrons at the bar and a few tables. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. She had us find a seat and was quick to get drinks and appetizer orders. The menu had many interesting items including about 10 different hot dogs and 10-15 different burgers. The food came out quickly and overall was pretty good. We had deviled eggs with pimento cheese and fried banana peppers for an appetizer. Both were large and fed multiple people. The eggs were a little disappointing because they were just hard boiled eggs hollowed out with pimento cheese put in place of the yolk. Would have been more interesting to see how it could have been made with the yolk as well. The banana peppers were tasty with a good balance of sweet and crunchy. I had the burger with spicy goat cheese and the banana peppers. Overall the burger was delicious with many layers of flavor. It's a smash patty type burger with crisp edges and cooked well done. While my preference is a thicker juicy burger, this has lots of flavor to it and the unique combinations gave everyone something to try. My side was pickle fries and these were excellent. Some of the best fried pickles I've had. Overall a delicious meal for a very reasonable price.

It has a cool vibe with music and attentive servers. I love the mounts on the wall. We got here around 5:20 and people kept streaming in. We started with their chili cheese fries: they were really good. They bring out a homemade ranch that is also good. I'm a spice fan, and their chili wasn't spicy, but the chili was thick and really good. Beer selection is pretty good; lots of domestic beers and some on draft. The food was very good: their fried banana peppers and fried pickles are fantastic. I had their spicy burger without a bun (sorry, no pic) and loved it. Overall, we really liked our visit.

Uptown Cheesesteak definitely knows what it's doing when it comes to bold, satisfying comfort food…read more From the moment I walked in, the aroma of sizzling steak and grilled onions set the tone for what turned out to be a solid dining experience. The cheesesteak itself was the highlight--thinly sliced beef cooked just right, juicy without being greasy, and packed into a fresh, soft roll that held everything together without falling apart. The cheese was perfectly melted. I added grilled onions and peppers, and they brought a nice balance of sweetness and texture. The menu had a good variety beyond the classic cheesesteak, including poutine, loaded fries and other sandwich and burger options, but it's clear the star here is the signature sandwich. Portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality and quantity. Service was quick and straightforward--nothing overly fancy, but efficient and friendly enough to make the experience smooth. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, making it a great place to grab a quick bite or hang out with friends without any fuss. While you are there, be sure to check out all the unique artwork and murals on the walls. If you're craving a hearty, no-nonsense cheesesteak that delivers on flavor, this place is definitely worth checking out. It's not trying to reinvent the cheesesteak wheel--it's just doing it really well.

I made several visits here to come up with my own assessment of Uptown Cheesesteak. Being originally from the Philadelphia area, I was practically born with a cheesesteak in my mouth. And when I would visit, I always ordered the same thing... the OG Cheesesteak. My conclusion to get this as close to a cheesesteak from Philly... I would ask for double the meat (the ratio of meat to bread must be 3:1 lol) and that the meat needs to be chopped down to near bits. If you bite into one and out comes a huge sliver slice of rib-eye meat, "Negative, Ghost Rider." I will say the fries are excellent. My party and I enjoyed their fries very much. And the staff is always helpful and pleasant; I appreciate them very much when they accommodate my asks. :) THANK YOU!!

The easiest way to find it is look for a building that looks like an auto body shop. Parking is on gravel adjacent to the building. The spaces are not marked. There is a handicapped sign to the left of the door. There are a few spaces across the street and more on the side of the building. There is a concrete sidewalk in front of the building. The gravel lot is even with the sidewalk on the right side but there is a small step up on the left. The entrance door is in the middle of the building. Walking in, there is a counter to the left where you pay. Bathrooms are straight ahead in the rear. Seating is a mix of booths and various sized tables. Seating is plentiful but well-spaced so maneuvering around is no problem. There was a sign to seat yourself so we picked a booth along the front of the building near the row of windows. Decor is auto related as would be expected. Lighting is bright without being overpowering. Our server arrived in less than a minute to bring the menus and take our drink order. She returned with the drinks in a couple minutes and took our lunch order. The drinks were in very large, maybe 32oz cups. Our server did come by near the end of the meal to ask if we wanted a refill but we still had just under half the drink left. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. The bacon cheeseburger was very good. The burger was hot and juicy and served on a fresh and soft bun as large as the patty. The lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh, cold, and crisp. The onion rings were also very good. The batter was crisp and the onion slightly soft, an excellent combination. The Western burger was another winner. The sautéed mushrooms were not mushy and had a nice sauce accompanying them. The sauteed onion and white cheese added additional depth. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bun soft and fresh. The french fries were thin and crispy but had a nice softness inside. This was an excellent lunch, and each burger was a wonderful flavor sensation. The french fries and onion rings were an excellent accompaniment and deserve mention on their own. Bond-o to Burger also does breakfast and I look forward to trying that soon as well.
