Burger Boss To Go reminds me of long gone burger establishments of Houston's past. The burger patties are of the thicker variety similar to what was once served at businesses like Guy's Meat Market or New Orleans Po Boy. I can definitely appreciate this given the strange smash burger phenomenon these days, which is both ubiquitous and, to some extent, annoying. There's no ambience because this is a to go only establishment, but the service here is good. The same guy who answered the phone also cooks everything. The thick-cut fries are fresh, not frozen...and delicious. The fully dressed cheeseburger was well seasoned and well done. The burger was juicy. This place is amazing! I had the original boss burger with fries. It was a 20 minute wait because the burger had to be hand packed, seasoned and cooked fresh, but it was well worth the wait! The fries were actually wedges, well cooked and seasoned very nicely! The food was so good yesterday I'm going back again today! Best bet is to call ahead and pick up your order as there's not much space to park and wait for your food. They don't have a dine in area and you'll have to wait in your car. read more

He said the place was packed; there was just a little window to order from and only one burger boss working the back cooking so service could be a bit slow BUT he's making your burgers fresh and boy is it worth the wait! Look at that patty! It is thick! He does not skimp on the meat! It is seasoned well, with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and a soft bun! It was delicious and filling!! The guy who runs the window is the one who makes the food. Each time I've gone he has been pleasant. Not rude- but not talkative which is ok with me ‍ I took my family. Dad and sister gave it an A++++++++ / dad got the wings (no sauce - top tier) my sister got the pork chops ( top tier) and my dad said we have a new spot! Which is not too far from me. Parking lot is small but so what - and don't expect the be in and out within 5 minutes. The food is cooked fresh! There's an estimated time frame - ( phone orders are taken too). Expect your food to be hot. It's a walk up window - nothing too fancy but it says it in the name TO GO ... no cash here - only card. Apple Pay - yes. Would I come back again? Duh! Yesterday was my first time trying this place. I Called in to place my order and I have to admit the guy who answered didn't sound very pleasant. I advised him it was my first time ordering and didn't know what they had but asked for a Cheeseburger meal. He didn't advise any menu options or anything he just asked me if I wanted the burger "all the way". I told him I didn't know what came with "All the way" but asked for a cheeseburger with Lettuce , Tomatoes , Cheese & Onions. So though he wasn't very nice I still decided to give them a try . I arrived to the joint and seen it was a small joint with just a window where you can pick up the food. When I got there a guy whose face I couldn't even see , gave me my food and asked "what's gonna be the drink" . I excitedly said "oh I didn't know the meal came with a drink I guess I'll take Big Red". He then hands me the can of soda and that was that. I was excited after looking at a few reviews before going and When I got my food I noticed it was a nice portion size. The food was hot as well I must admit. Unfortunately the first thing I noticed when I picked the burger up was that my bun was soggy! When I picked up the burger it almost fell apart because the bottom bun was almost Disintegrated like maybe too much butter was put on it before toasting. The Lettuce was iceberg but it seemed like I had gotten the ends or core of the lettuce & it seemed like someone just rinsed it and threw it directly on my burger from under the water. It was wet and tbh the WHOLE BURGER WAS SLOPPY! The Mayo was slapped on and I only got one tomato! When I took a bite of the burger I was hit with the Saltiness of the burger! The burger didn't have any flavor it just tasted like Tony Chachere"s. I didn't taste no garlic powder , pepper or anything just Tony's! The fries looked like it was a potato that they cut into 8 pieces as the "Fries" were so thick! It wasn't in a good way though! They weren't even. And they were damn near burnt as with that thickness it's impossible to get them crunchy and crispy. Lee's Burger Joint has better Burgers to me and the service is much more hospitable. The only reason I came here is because Lee's no longer takes call in orders over the phone and I needed something quick for lunch. They have the potential to really be a good spot but just need to tweak a few items , get friendlier members and maybe better QUALITY ingredients! Maybe then hopefully I can give them another try. But as of now it's a NO for me. read more

These are big ole, thick, juicy and succulent, well-seasoned pieces of goodness. The meat by itself is wonderful.
