I wanted a burger from here and ordered a cheeseburger which was cooked very well done and dry. I couldn't believe that it took 17 minutes to get my burger. This place looked like a good place to stop for a burger and I had not eaten since breakfast and it was already after 4pm. I didn't think that the over cooked burger was that good but the toppings were fresh on a soft bun that squashed flat as you ate the burger. read more

My kind of chili dog....nothing fancy, just solid. The weenie had never met a rabbi. Although it may have once been in Alabama I sought it had ever been outside the state of Georgia. The bun was fresh, soft and cradled the Frank well. But it was bottom shelf Piggly Wiggly, a cheapie. The chili was robust but had never been to Texas. It's better Thursday than it is Monday. It's made like momma made here chili...a pack of chili-o mix, can of tomatoes, can of Bushes chili hot beans, can of water and about twice as much hamburger as it said use on the back of the Chili-o packet. The onions are cold and fresh chopped Bermuda's. You can eat one with one hand in three bites but not while riding a bicycle. If you drive by and miss out on an opportunity to eat here it's your own damn fault. The Lord may love you but you ain't from the south. read more

Burger Chick is a nice place. They are a local restaurant and they value the food they serve. The restaurant makes about everything to order, so be sure to call ahead or be prepared to wait (10-15 minutes is enough notice to call). The food is good too. I split lunch with my Dad and we tried the O Burger, Double O Burger, beer-battered fries, and onion rings. The O Burger was the perfect size. The Double O was delicious but too large for it's own good. It was a nice challenge to tackle. The fries were greasy and exactly what I expected. I was a little disappointed about the onion rings (tasted good though). There were four or five compared to the large amount of fries. A closer proportion between the two would have been great (Our meal was 13 dollars) If you're in Tallapoosa, give Burger Chick a try. It's worth an adventure. read more

One of the best Phillys I have had. Husband got a burger and it was delicious as well. This definitely a fresh homemade hamburger. Entry of options for toppings. Onion rings were homemade and great but fries were not. Now for the negatives. As others have stated, staff was not overly friendly. They only take cash so be prepared. No bathrooms and seating is next door in an old building. Didnt mind it though, it was charming. If this resturant was in one fo the towns many vacant buildings it would be at a whole other level. So many times a restuarant will have great decor and horrible food. This place is right the opposite. So if you dont mind the atmosphere or complete lack of it. The food was great! I have lost count how many times I have eaten from Burger Chick but it has always be excellent. The food is great and served hot and fresh and delicious. I've worked my way through most of the menu and haven't been disappointment in anything. My personal favorite is the Big O (if I'm REALLY hungry)and onion rings and a shake. The flavor of my shake has to vary because I love them all! But it's a great place to grab a fresh lemonade on a hot day also and not even eat. Always stop at the Burger Chick when I'm in Tallapoosa! Make sure you bring either a check or cash as they do not accept cards. I've had to double big O and I was stuffed! I now get the Big O combo, which is a quarter pound patty, fries and drink. Upgraded with a large sweet tea runs little over 6.50. Burger taste like it's fresh not frozen patty. Never got anything but the french fries and they're delicious! Call ahead, at lunchtime to get pretty busy which is a really good sign. Great for a burger joint taste and freshness wise. When you first see this throw back place you think "No way this place on the side of the road is going to be good!". But boy, I was wrong. This is probably the most under-rated place in west Georgia. The burgers are fresh, juicy, not greasy and tasty as heck. the buns are fresh, soft good as well. Great Job to the crew. What makes this place 4 stars for me is the incredible milk shakes, OMG, shakes are done right, with just the right amount of syrup. All in all a great place. It is only marked down because although occasionally it is cool to do, eating outside is not that great. The dining area next door is not that much better. read more
