If you are in the mood for a good old-fashioned country style brunch, then this is the place for you. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted. The staff is absolutely amazing! We were immediately approached by the server once we sat down. She was extremely friendly as a matter of fact, everyone who worked there was really nice. I ordered the Brioche French toast with a side of bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Everything arrived at our table, fresh, hot, and very delicious. I have absolutely zero complaints. She kept our cups full. My partner ordered the Big Ol' pancake and was unable to finish it. It was definitely large. She said it tasted really good and was very fluffy! All in all, I really enjoyed the food and casual ambiance. Parking was pretty good. They do close early on Sundays, so don't tarry!

I visited Chat & Choo on an overcast Friday afternoon in July with a work colleague. McKenzie(sp?) was our server. We were welcomed warmly and invited to seat ourselves. I ordered salmon and made a special request for the seasoning. My sides were collard greens and sweet potato fries. My friend had the pimento cheese and bacon sandwich and mac and cheese. The restroom was clean and stocked with all the requirements (If they're looking for a way to renovate a bit, they can scrape and resurface the fun checkerboard tile). The food was really good!! The ambiance is just right for a downtown area with wood floors, funky tile entry, and exposed industrial look. My one teeny criticism is the view on the walk to the bathroom of that back room; maybe clean up all the chaos back there or drag a long curtain across that area. Music was good and not too loud. Service was excellent! Nice quiet place to grab lunch on a weekday. I'll be back for sure!

This is probably a funny way to start a review, but the place was extremely clean, even way above our heads in the ceiling. In my experience with diners and cafes similar to this, cleanliness isn't high on the priority level when it comes to all the decor and items above your head. Even the ceiling fans were clean. Our server was extremely friendly and polite. We both had breakfast and it was solid food. Nothing extraordinary, but good. My friend had a ham and cheese omelette which was simple, but good. I had 2 eggs, potatoes, toast, and a sausage patty. The sausage had good flavor and was cooked well, not too greasy. The eggs and potatoes were good, but they didn't really have any flavor. I used salt and pepper which was fine. It was an overall decent breakfast. It was interesting to me as we were there during the cross over between breakfast and lunch that no one came in for lunch. I'm curious to come back.

Small town cafe with friendly staff. Our office is located about a mile down the street from them, so we decided to order lunch to go. We called the order in around 10 am and mentioned it would be picked up by 11:30. Our food was ready by then! Plenty of parking at 11:30am. Two of the staff ordered the Cajun duck breast with raspberry sauce ($15.75)they both enjoyed it and would give it 4 stars. Another co worker and I ordered the grilled dill weed rubbed salmon ($12.75) with sides such as cucumber salad, baby Lima beans and mashed potatoes. The salmon unfortunately didn't have much flavor, the cucumber salad was just pickled sliced cucumbers and onions. Another co worker ordered the chicken bacon cheddar jalapeño ranch sliders with crinkled French fries ($11.75) she enjoyed hers as well. The entrees come with either a roll or cornbread, the cornbread was delicious.

The Trading Post Cafe is a spot where local folks come to eat. A visitor can easily spot the "regulars" chatting with their servers. The staff is patient, attentive and extremely kind. We were visiting the area and found The Trading Post Cafe via Google when looking for a breakfast spot. Our entire party agreed that it was the highlight of our day! Our server, Kate, to exceptional care of us. The menu had plenty of options for whatever size appetite. When my server came back several minutes later, she asked how my breakfast was. I pointed to the corned beef hash's burned side and mentioned they. No apology offered. She asked with indifference if I wanted them to remake them. I said yes. She said it'll be a bit. I told her never mind, I don't have time. She said ok and walked away. At the register I was asked if everything was good. I said no. I was asked what was wrong. I said the corned beef hash was overcooked and crusty. She asked if I told my server. I said yes. She then gave me the total due without even offering to remove the burnt food. This food was seen by the cook and server at a minimum and nobody cared from those two moments till I paid.

Considering it was a Saturday around 11 AM and the restaurant was already packed, the wait was understandable. We didn't get a chance to try any drinks this visit since we were hitting the road afterward, but the drink menu looked great and we'll definitely be back to check it out. For brunch, we ordered the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich, and it absolutely hit the spot! Adding jelly took it to another level. It was so good that I wanted to keep eating, but I had to stop at half because I didn't want to be too full for the drive. It was truly sensational. Despite the busy brunch crowd, the atmosphere and service was great, and we had no trouble finding street parking nearby. Overall, a delicious brunch experience, and I'm already looking forward to coming back!

Food: catfish & grits (both were too salty), fried green tomatoes were over cooked so they were too crunchy, the devil eggs (which were only TWO that were split in half) had way too much relish and the chicken sausage on my French toast sandwich was undercooked (I didn't bother telling my server). Atmosphere: Everything was pink, the photo backdrop options were cute and they had a Barbie case outside and that was cute too. Overall, I am quite disappointed with my experience and I'm 95% sure I won't return.

The ambience is your typical lounge. It's pretty chill no thanks spectacular however, I would go back because the drinks were very good and you can't be a five dollar deal after work.

I've been for happy hour a few times. If you get there I'd say before 6 the music level is ok,…read moreespecially during the weekday. After 6, expect to have to yell at the person next to you. My friends have tried attending and found the music level too loud & left. If it's supposed to be a restaurant, then maybe save the loud music til after 9 for the club vibe? ‍ We came for dinner Sunday, 7/27/25. There was a good mix of R&B & hip hop, with more R&B, I'd say. My husband, "can't do boopity-boo," and was able to hang in there until bingo. I'l come back to that. I ordered the Baldwin Hills, which was fruity, but strong. The bartenders need to get on the same page tho, because the 1st one was definitely better than the 2nd one. I'm from LA & Baldwin Hills is above the area where I grew up, so I had to represent with that drink. Normally, I'm a whiskey/bourbon lady, but vodka is my white liquor preference so I was good. The food is good. We started with the jerk chicken eggrolls. It was definitely fried hard, or maybe refried from earlier? Idk. It was not as light as the picture. Due to the lighting & how hard they were fried, I had to do some editing to make them visible. The server said they weren't too spicy. They come in 4 pieces. The 1st piece I had was definitely mild. My husband said they had a kick when he bit into his, but I didn't get that...that is until I had the 2nd one! Whew! All the spice was in that piece! I'd say slightly spicier than a little kick. They were tasty tho. We both waited a while for our entrees. The table next to us, also only with a couple had their food come out before ours, though they came in as we were finishing our appetizer I think. We'd already placed our entree order by the time they came. The server apologized for the delay on our food and said it would be out in a few minutes. It was more like 10-15 minutes before they brought out his entree. The person who brought it out, maybe the manager?, said she didn't want his food to get cold waiting on mine to come out. It took another 10-15 minutes, if not longer, for my food to come out, with no explanation. My husband ordered the fried catfish entreè with spinach & rice pilaf. He enjoyed his food. His only issue was not having 2 fillets. As you can see the piece you get is sizable, soooo, if you have a big appetite, maybe also get the catfish on the happy hour too to supplement the meal. ‍ I'm trying to get into salmon & the honey bourbon salmon was good. It wasn't overly sweet and it didn't taste fishy, like salmon sometimes can. The spinach is good also. I had to send the potatoes back because they were not hot. As long as I waited for my food, I wasn't expecting lukewarm food. The server quickly brought out some hot potatoes and they were good. They have bingo on Sunday night @ 8; or at least it was 8-something that's night. Initially, the dj said it was an R&B bingo, but when the bingo paper was passed out, it had hip hop on it too. I'm familiar with some hip hop, but don't know all the artists' names, lol. It was still fun, but I knew I probably wasn't going to win lol. We sang during the songs (had to ID the artist on the bingo card), and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I'm glad to have this option in Douglasville and glad it's still here after a few years when some other restaurants have closed. They are also open late, which is good, as most restaurants in the area close at 9 or 10. I'd ask the owner to consider a grown and sexy night or an over 35 night with good R&B music that's played at a level that can be enjoyed and allowed conversation to flow. A line dance night would also be good. I met the owner when the 1st location in Atlanta opened on Edgewood. It just so happened we had family in town visiting from LA. They gave him the business lol about the drink names and the place, but really enjoyed the vibe. I'm glad to see the business flourishing and in multiple states. I wish continued success and that there will be some acceptance of the feedback provided.
