My pup, Logan, finally received all his shots so it was the green light to take him to a local dog park and make friends! I liked that this dog park had two fenced in areas, one for smaller dogs and one for large dogs. Since my 5 and a half month old is almost the size of a full grown dog, the large dog area was where we visit. Logan was greeted immediately upon entrance by several friendly, well behaved, dogs. Within minutes (and once I had built up the confidence to take him off the leash) he was running and playing with his new buddies! Yes, like a new mom watching their kid go off to Kindergarten, I teared up a bit. The owners also welcomed us and gave Logan lots of love when he ran by. Without a doubt, I will be coming here often. It's so close to home and seeing Logan enjoying himself and making friends was priceless! read more

The dog park is sufficient, but it could definitely be better. Pros: there are separate sections for big dogs and little dogs. There's a water fountain to fill your furbaby's bowl. The area is pretty grassy. Cons: the parking lot is small and not paved. Both areas are lacking in seating, so take your own folding chair. If it has recently rained there is too much mud. I go here at least 3 times a week. Things have changed a lot recently with management. They need to stop taking my the toys. (Big dog section). They are just being thrown away. You have your regular people who come almost everyday and will stay there for hours on end. I enjoy coming here and it's always populated. Most dogs are friendly and everyone does care about what is going on and understands if a new dog who usually isn't there comes in then everyone keeps an eye out to make sure the dog isn't harmed. Otherwise just bring a chair and some water and get to know some people. As for the little dog section, there are barley any small dogs there. This doesn't effect me because I bring my Baby to the big section but just a heads up for those with small dogs. read more

Nothin' special about this place, but I like it because it's very flat, and you don't lose sight of your pup. The few times I visited with my lil buddies, I noticed most people stand in the center together. Burger also has a separate area for small pups under about 30lbs, which is a great advantage for those with mini-furbabies! Not a ton of parking here but worth a try. Be ware though that occasionally this park (and Lake Court) close for months at a time for upkeep.. not sure what they do but we were disappointed on more than one occasion! read more

Sooooo this review is totally from the viewpoint of an owner and not from my dog, because Rocky could give a good darn hoot about frolicking in a yard with other dogs. He is a snob like that. I blame his "real" parents. Burger Dog Park is a good park to visit to chit chat with other "pet people." Hence the use of the quotation marks. Yeah, some of the owners (no shade thrown) are serious pet lovers, to the point that they may not remember your name, but they will definitely remember your dog's name. However, for what it is worth, everyone is very friendly and for the most part keep their dogs in line. The park is rather large and divided into two sections, one side for large dogs and the other side reserved for small dogs. The divided sections is great for anyone, like myself, who is concerned that their tiny dog may get trampled or overwhelmed by a dog much bigger than they are. The park has minimum seating, so on a busy weekend I would suggest you bring your own chair. Oh also bring a hat and fan on sunny days, because there is extremely limited shade to be had at the park. Overall the park is well maintained and there is adequate parking. There are water fountains available and I always see communal bowls out for the dogs to drink water from. However, as a "pet person" and self described slight germaphobe, I would not suggest your dogs use them. Yes dogs can get germs too, and I would not want your Fido or Fida blowing chunks and Hershey squirting later on. Yucky! read more

I've been bringing my (little) dog to this park for 7 YEARS, almost daily as we live in the neighborhood.  I have nothing but good things to say about this park! After reading some of the most ridiculous reviews I've ever come across, I'd like to give a few pointers to anyone who would like to visit (and anyone who has bad things to say about the park in general): #1- This is an outside park.  If you don't like a little mud after it rains, stay home.  If you don't like mosquitos or hot sun, bring a hat and bug repellent. #2- Most of us who go there every afternoon are regulars.  And we ARE animal lovers.  If you have a dog that acts crazy or you do something to your dog that is inappropriate, we will probably say something. #3- PICK UP YOUR DOG'S POO!!!!  That's why there are bags and trash cans. #4- We bring water and bowls for our dogs.  Especially when it is hot outside.  We don't mind if your pup drinks out of the bowl, but if you are that worried that dogs drinking from the same bowl will give Fido "the squirts", keep him at home. I am not responsible for your dog being thirsty and drinking water.  #5- This is a DOG park. They play, they hump, that's what dogs do.  Chill out.  #6- The 5 o'clock crew is awesome. This is a good dog park. It's located in a neighborhood. The parking lot is kind of small but the actual dog park play area is huge. Not too many benches available but most people tend to stand in the center and chat while their pups play. There are ample doggy bags though w/ trash cans, and water fountains on both sides (big / small dogs). The people I have met there are very nice and I enjoy bringing my puppy here weekday evenings, generally around 7pm - ish. Definitely recommend :) read more

A bit out of the way for the three of us, but when meeting Miho and JG for a play date this maybe the central locale for a good day on the lawn. Burger Dog Park is the grassiest little park for my four legged friend yet. A bit boring in that there isn't anything but a flat pasture of grass, but it's nice that with grass... there's not mud. Most of the time when we go to dog parks the mulch or dirt just ends up being a big mud bath for all to play in. Burger has two separate play pens for the large and small. Both large in size providing everyone tons of room to roam. We had a good time, and most of the owners seemed pretty in tune with the proper rules and regulations one should adhere to when taking your pooch in public. Only issue other that distance was the extreme amount of gnats... oh well, you're outside. read more

This tends to be a better park for small dogs than Lake Court. The small dog side doesn't get flooded the way the large dog side does, but it is completely separate. As a big dog owner I prefer lake court. As a small dog owner, if your dog does not like big dogs/is scared of them/various other issues with large dogs, I would go to Burger Park just so your pup can have the most fun possible. read more

I got a new puppy about a month ago and have been trying to find a dog park near the Smynings/Cumberland area where I live. The receptionist lady at my vet suggested that I check out this park and another one nearby. She didn't know the park names and gave me somewhat vague directions so they weren't the easiest to find..."one of them is behind Belmont Hill Elementary and the other is behind a McD's, both on S Cobb." I decided to GPS Belmont Hill and found a match. Once I got there, the park was nowhere to be seen and I drove around another good 10 minutes before stumbling on a green sign that said 'Burger Park' and went to see if that was the dog park. There are two fenced areas as I expected, but only 2 dogs on the big dog side and 1 dog on the small dog side. This is a disappointment for a Saturday afternoon. I hung around for another good 25 minutes, checking out the two benches available on the small dog side where there weren't any trees for shade and then proceeded to chat to an old couple and a Pit Bull breeder who was hanging out in the parking lot with his puppies sleeping in a crate on his truck bed. We made some small talk and admired the cute puppies. I then asked the old couple about the whereabouts of the other park since they looked like they are familiar with the area. I go to this park at least once a week when the weather permits. Especially love going there in the fall and spring when the temps are mild. I enjoy going to this park for several reasons...the first because it has separate small and large dog areas. My dogs would not be able to function in an area that was 'free' to all dogs. Most dog owners who go there are 'regulars' and it's pretty amusing how we know the dogs names, but may have misplaced the owners names! Nice park, friendly people, friendly dogs-the only thing I would add would be for those who are new dog owners...please make sure your pups are vaccinated and older than 12 weeks before entering the park. I am all for socializing your pup, but they need to have all their shots for their health and the health of the othe pups at the park. read more

As dog parks go, this is a good one in the Smyrna area. Its sits back behind a school and some apts. The downsides are, when it rains its gets quite saturated and takes a few days to dry out because it sits low below ground level and there are mosquitos to follow so take some repellent. Also when its starts getting dark even though its behind a neighborhood, its kinda creepy if you're alone with a smaller dog, maybe not so much with a larger one. The upsides are, a good location from my proximity, it seems maintained most of the time although they ocassionally slip on cutting the grass. The large/small dog parks are seperated, there are fountains for people and dogs, doggie bags and trash recepticles and two metal benches. There is also a small unpaved parking lot. My dog and I like going there quite a bit when we can and we usually see some regulars there often. There is also a porta-potty (if needed). So found this place on the GPS last sunday afternoon, this park was way in the back suburbs and pretty hidden, after thinking we might have been going the wrong way it was right infront of us. So we got to the park, it looked really nice, lots of dogs and pups with their friendly owners, green grass, couple of benches, 2 fenced off areas, one for small dogs and one for the biggies, had water and bags onsite for the dogs. besides the weird location and maybe could do with a couple more benches, all and all pretty good :) read more

Burger Park is a fantastic place for my Wife, my Canines and me... it's clean, safe, and the other dog owners, (Dog Lovers) are very nice, and fun to be around... There are two separate areas for small and large dogs... (We have one of each, so it's really great)... Cobb County, to its credit, does a very good job of keeping the park clean... The owners, also to their credit, do a good job of picking up after their babies... It's really a win/win for the dogs, the owners and the community... Our babies get to run, UNLEASHED for a little while every day when we're able... If you are new to the area... give this park a visit... read more

I brought my dog here for the first time yesterday. I google searched it once a friend mentioned it to me and I found it without problem on my GPS. It was great to be able to let my apartment dwelling dog run free without fear of him running away or getting injured. The water wasn't turned on yet as it is still only warming up, but I will be returning again as I thought it was a great park and it wasn't too busy yet. Took my dog here today, all he wanted to do was play and he was repeatedly attacked by two dogs and NO ONE STEPPED IN. Although I have not taken my 9 month old deaf boxer there, I like this park. It's in an ESTABLISHED neighborhood; I've lived here for 32 years and have no plans of moving anytime soon. I'm looking forward to taking him there when the weather cools down some to mingle with the other dogs. read more

First visit to this dog park today! I like how they have separate small/large dog areas. There were a lot of friendly people and fellow dog lovers and most of the dog got along great. Policies are clearly stated, plenty of waste stations and a couple of benches. The only downside is the neighborhood it is in didn't seem to great, nothing terrible just a little uncomfortable. We love bringing our two dogs (an Austrailian Shepherd/lab mutt and a Puggle) to this dog park. We drive out of our way from Vinings on the Chattahoochee to this park. There are usually quite a few dogs around to play with, and most everyone is mindful of their dog. It is pretty clean, too...haven't stepped in anything that I had to clean off of my shoes later. I love that there is a fountain on each side (small dog & large dog) for people and pups, and plenty of bag/trash stations. There are a couple of uncomfortable metal benches, but we are usually running around with our dogs, or talking to the other dog owners, so that doesn't bother us. If you'd prefer to sit, you might want to bring along a folding chair so you're a little more comfortable. It gets muddy after a rainfall, so be careful if your dog likes to roll in mud or if your dog wants to drink(!) the mud...mine tried. I have seen landscapers and a worker there to replenish the bag supply and remove the garbage, so it is well taken care of. All in all, a great park, I just wish it were a little closer to home! read more

It needs more benches but most people have learned to just bring their own chairs. Park regulars know each other's dog's names (and are more familiar with them than the owner's names) and for the most part, everyone is welcoming. Dogs of all sizes are allowed and welcomed on the big dog side of the park but the small dog side.... Don't even try it if you don't want to be met with a snobby attitude. They are understandably concerned about the safety of their smaller canines, but a few owners on that side have been known to be more than rude when letting you know that your dog isn't allowed over there. It's like they can smell it when your dog weighs a pound over the weight limit. But no matter, the large dog side is better and more easygoing read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The big dogs seem to always be aggressive and the owners don't control their pets! Took my corgi there one Tuesday morning. My corgi is middle of the weight requirements so he can go on either side of the fence. There were no small dogs and only about 5 large dogs so we went to the large dog side so he could have play mates. After about 10min there the dogs all started chasing my corgi and ultimately we were both attacked. I had to go to urgent care where I got stitches and my dog when to his vet to get examined luckily the dog that shook him like a chew toy didn't break the skin. During this attack none of the owners did anything to remove their dogs from the situation. read more

Good space, irresponsible owners. Fourth visit to the park and I (the owner) got bitten by another person's dog. We had just entered the park when the only dog (with two handlers, mind you) in the park ran up and immediately started barking and growling and was getting progressively more agitated. His or her owners did nothing so I walked up to get my dog away. I reached for his collar and that's when the dog bit me. I'm not blaming the dog here. I understand some dogs don't get along with one another and it may have felt threatened by me when I reached for my dog's collar. My point is - why were the owners not doing anything before and after the incident? As I sat there bleeding trying to get my things and leave, their dog kept running around and even coming up for a second go at my dog. They left without exchanging contact info. I spent the rest of the evening getting a tetanus shot and antibiotics and thinking I should never have gone in. What a shame. My dog loved running around in there. read more

So I read all the reviews and was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to find, wasn't overly crowded so there was enough parking and the people were friendly. It was my pup's first visit and she seemed to be over joyed by having other dogs to play with and not just me. Only downside was the Nat's and mosquitoes. But this is GA what can I expect. Bring a can of OFF, a dog tow and a fully charged phone and park it for a couple hours! read more

The space is large and so are the aggressive dogs.. I have a golden doodle that likes to sprint and get a workout, but every time I go there are pit mixes that always get to aggressive and chase and nip at my dog, the owners could care less.. The crowd is not your upper echelon Smyrna, Vinings homeowners by any means. I only go if it's real necessity and there is only one or two dogs. And that's a maybe. read more

Decent. Fenced in flat area - that be it! Seperate places for large and small doggies. I would have to WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree on the notion of idiot dog owners who frequent. Dont tell me "oh they are just playing" when your dog has my 90lb hound pinned by his neck. They are not! Dont be shy here, a dog acts up don't trust the owner to handle - you handle it. The only dog ive had a problem with is a black lab with a ditzy owner. I literally had to scream get your f*&(!@@ dog off my dogs neck!! at this woman to get her to even notice as she giggled, I had to break it up. My dog listens so he didnt go back at the evil lab of doom. If I didnt give that command, or he attacks an untrained animal your little jerk labbypoo would have been in some serious trouble. Train your dogs. Know what is aggressive behavior and what is playful. If you cant comply with the above stay home!! Im not going to be deterred but I will be on guard. Rant over and out! Edit: after reading some recent reviews confirming what I have personally dealt with I will not be back. It's one thing to handle aggression between dogs, but like a lot of other people's dogs if I get bit I don't have a doubt in my mind my dog will kill whatever bit me. Not worth the chance. I did not even know there was an off leash dog park in Smyrna!! This location is kind of hard to find- hidden away inside a neighborhood. Has all the great makings of a good dog park- fenced in area, water fountain for both humans and dogs, separate small dog area, trash cans with poop bags and lots of seating. My only complaint about this location is that there is not much parking. On the weekends many people have to park in the neighborhood instead of the allotted park parking. I have no seen any major dog fights in this area- nor really seen any aggressive dogs there. After a good hour at this park my dogs have their tongues hanging out of their mouths and sleep for hours!! read more

Nice separate enclosures. I agree with other comments in that it's all flat so it's easy to keep track of dogs but that drainage after rain may make things messy. The small dog area's not so bad in this regard - it's almost all grass. But the large dog area had a section that was nothing but mud... of course the dogs love it! My negative comment is really owner centric. If you have a large breed dog, and even if you have been taking your dog almost daily to the small dog area since it was a pup, a large 5 month old puppy is a large dog. Take your large dogs to the large dog enclosure even if you think that area's too aggressive. That's a large dog owner's problem, not the small dog owners'. Small dogs have small bones. They don't do well being rolled and jumped on by big dogs. And..... if your dog is running into people, running thru people's legs, and has it's mouth around the neck of a dog on the ground, that's aggressive behavior. Btw: Yes I am an expert. Owners, you are responsible for your dog. If someone tells you to handle your dog, handle your dog. Don't argue about it. Read owners' body language too. I saw people leashing their dogs in the enclosure and going to the other side of the enclosure to get their small dogs away from two large dogs. Honor the separation of sizes. Be respectful of other dogs and owners. They may not say anything to you, but they don't want your large breed in the small breed area. read more

This is a great dog park! Plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play. Very gentle little dogs on the under 30 lb side., the big dog side seems to be equally gentle. My cockerpoo loves coming here to get in some exercise and Funtime. read more
