Stopped at Burger King in Alamogordo, NM for takeout. The last time I went to a Burger King in San Diego was about 3 years ago. I ordered the 8 piece chicken fries combo with an Oreo shake. My son LOVED this combo!! He can be very picky during road trips and ate everything!! Makes me miss the Burger King near my house that closed down 2 years ago. Their Burger King menu improved!! I placed my order online on the Burger King app about 35 minutes before they closed and although I pulled up at the drive thru window at 10:55pm (they close at 11pm) the employee at the window was still super friendly and even joked around with my husband. I was pleasantly surprised they weren't irritated by the late order even though I could tell the employee was tired. The food was good, it was still hot and tasted delicious. You can't go wrong with a Whopper! I'll choose BK over McDonalds any time. Anyways, if you order on the app you can earn reward points to cash in for free food. They also have deals and offers there that you won't find if you order at the actual restaurant. All in all, good experience. read more

Every time I go, the staff just always looks so distressed like they're all going through a breakup..not to mention them always forgetting things and then sounding annoyed when they ask for the order... Food is average for Burger King, but service is really slow. After spending a long time in the drive through line, they tell you to park in their small front parking lot to wait for your food (which is also a long wait). This has happened to me twice. This tells me that the store is mismanaged... they should have most food orders ready or near ready to go once you get to the pay window. read more

Absolute worst experience of my life! Took a chance on BK over the McDonalds across the street because the line was long, and found out the painful reason why no one comes here. The girl taking our order was not very competent and struggled to work their apparently awful system. She left before our order was even complete. It took 20 minutes to order, waited 30 minutes at the window (no one even looked our way) so we left, empty handed and a carful with 2 hungry families, to the McDonalds across. Honestly this is just a normal BK. We only came here to avoid the heat and let my son play in the air conditioned play area. There were no mistakes with my order and the staff was friendly. The customers on the other hand were disgustingly rude. There were probably 4-5 people working. And a huge line inside of customers and a line at the drive-thru. The employees were doing their best and correcting any mistakes given to them. But the consumers were just miserable people who obviously do not understand human error. The only reason I'm not giving this BK 5 stars is because I think they should hire more staff and they should clean the kids play area more often. read more

As we walked in we notice the tables and floors were very dirty. I had order a spicy chicken sandwich and was just given a regular. My wife had order a whopper with no pickles as she is allergic and she had found some in her burger. Appearance: probably the worst looking Burger King I have seen. I had a craving for a whopper and decided to try the Burger King here in Alamogordo. I used the drive though so exterior was all I saw. Service: service was good. Quick and received my order expedient. Cleanliness: I have seen many things and I an not squeamish, however the staff at the window made me completely lose my appetite. As the person at the window reached for my money his nails were horrific. Long, black and disgusting. I had to check the date to make sure it was not Halloween. I ordered from this establishment yesterday about 750 pm to which there was no line. I replaced one meal for another to which the person taking my order already seemed as though they were bothered. When I pulled up to the window I asked for the military discount to which she (jenn) replied "we don't have one". I asked when did that go away, she replied with attitude "i don't know i don't do cashier" as she closed the window to her run my card. The entire place was a pig sty...food on the floor, trash cans overflowing, drink area was out of service for 3 choices! Ordered chicken fries and onion rings...waited 25 minutes! Watched onion rings go out for drive thru and our order was not filled until there was no one else! Only one person running counter. I would NEVER stop here again. Onion rings we got were cold and I assume were the left over ones from what the drive thru did not use. Soda overpriced. You may think that reviews like this are often biased , but in the case of the Burger King here in Alamogordo , there are spot on . The bad service , the horrorific sanitary conditions , the pot smoking in the parking lot , scary , often unedible food , all true . The bottom line is this , its a crap shoot eating there , sometimes you get good food , sometimes you dont , and as a result we do not frequent burger king like we used to 8 years ago before moving here . I have very low standards usually, especially when it comes to fast food but this place was bad. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with the overwhelming smell of a sewer. While I waited for my food I noticed that the entire building looks like it was falling apart, and borderline unsafe to be in. This place is dirty and filthy. You can smell the aroma of a marijuana cigarette burning as you go thru the parking lot. The young girl who was taking my order was high as hell! She just kept on giggling while trying to take my order, her eyes glazed, and blood shot red. A year or more ago this BK was so bad that I refused to redeem a coupon for a free whopper that corporate sent me after I complained. THEY HAVE CHANGED! I have been back twice in the last few weeks and have been greeted by wonderful order takers in drive-through (they were not only slow in the past, they were rude and unpleasant.) Both times in the last weeks these people have been friendly, accurate, and very helpful. The food also has been brought up to the standard I used to expect. The ONLY issue I had was that it might be just a tad warmer. But the vegetables on the Whopper Jr and Whopper have been fresh and the food was good! What a drastic change! They had gone downhill and hit rock bottom. But something has changed and for those who remember the days that I do-- I'd give them another shot. I attempted to enter lobby at 9:26 pm and the door was locked. A young lady named shirly opened the door to tell us the lobby was closed and when I asked what the lobby hours where she said I don't know. I asked her to ask she said no shut the door and locked it. I was able to speak with the manager and I was satisfied with his concern and guarantee to ensure hours are posted and explained why they closed lobby early. read more
