Have you driven on Gibson between University and I-25 lately? This formerly humble strip of road has become South-central Albuquerque's biggest corporate restaurant plaza; if you're partial to franchise eats, this is your holy land. One of the OG fast food spots in this area is the Burger King on Mulberry Street. I've eaten here a few times before. There's no knowing when the desire to eat Burger King will strike, but it's a mighty urge indeed. Today, I came through to satisfy that craving. I ordered 10 spicy chicken nuggets for $1.49, probably the best nug prices in the game right now. These came out hot and delicious. While the coating doesn't taste too much different from normal nuggets, they were actually kinda spicy. Nicely done. Then came the double stacker. This sandwich, a fan favorite from many years back, delivers layers of beef, cheese, and bacon, all topped with the signature XL sauce. Today, however, the sauce had run dry. They offered to put green chile on it instead, which turned out to be a great call. Thanks to the staff for this inventive and delicious solution. Gotta say, this is pretty much my ideal fast food scenario: cheap, quick, responsive to my needs, prepared how I like it. Nicely done, Burger King. This location is being run like a real business, and I appreciate the attention to detail.

Fresh food that was served quickly, it made to order. As usual they had some good deals/specials for breakfast. It was a typical BK experience.

By far, the worst Burger King you can come to in Albuquerque. They will take 20 min with you in the drive thru. Absolutely ridiculous!

In search of vegetarian options and stumbled on this place…read more Super friendly service. Will visit again when in Albuquerque. The ambience was quiet given it was a Friday evening. Super proud of my decision to come here they sure did not disappoint.

I peruse the menu, another customer drops their shake. Gonna be longer. That's fine, go help them. "No, I can take your order REALLY FAST." Well, I was looking at the menu, but cool to be rushed. I remember when the young lady that used to work there was at the counter. 6-8 people in line, greeted with a smile and Hi! Welcome in! There was a longer wait, but it was ok, because the service was good, and so was the food. Today? I'll never return. I spent over $15.00 including a credit card surcharge (a business owner that wants to take credit cards but can't be bothered to be a business owner and pay their bills.) I left a $5 cash tip - I figured I'd the business owner can't pay the 3% on a bad merchant account, they most likely aren't paying the staff livable wages... I sat down and put my gear down, and waited... for about 15 minutes, before this garbage salad that was falsely advertised as having toppings and 3 sliced chick'n strips. The entire salad didn't fill the bowl.? On the bottom were less than a teaspoon of diced tomatoes. In the entire salad there was ONE "fried onion." The lettuce was chopped like slop, there was barely enough chick'n to call it 1.5 slices. Absolute trash. For 15$ I ate my salad, listening as Morticia Addams' understudy pleasantly said good bye, have a nice day, et cetera to the customers who were leaving. I got up, threw my trash, walked out. Silence: The whole time I was in there, a cheap speaker was streaming some crappy 90s "radio friendly hip hop." When my salad was brought to me, even after explaining it's very hard to eat, or carry , a salad on a motorcycle, it arrived in a to-go/carry out, lid is RIGHT THERE,.Morticia helpfully pointed it out, a subtle hint that I wasn't a welcome guest. As I was gearing up to get on my motorcycle out comes our antagonist. Not to be polite or anything. To smoke or vape. I didn't stick around to smell which one she was doing in the doorway. I get it, lucky goose doesn't want my money. They've made it abundantly clear. That's fine. I'll go to Steelbender, where they have vegan options, and like that customers come on to give them money. I accidentally posted this review to the uptown location. I've never been, and will never be, to that location. This review was the knob hill location.

This was a straight up delicious smashburger. So good, that it was easy to overlook the calamity…read morethat acquiring it turned out to be. So I got into Albuquerque early, and wanted lunch even though it was a little before 11am (having come from the east cost). This place inside the 505 food hall was recommended to me by Mia, the local Albuquerque community manager. I got there about 10:55, they open at 11, and knew what I wanted to eat about two minutes prior to that. I approached the counter... and well... was told not to for two more minutes, pretty curtly. OK fine, i can respect that, and the fact your day must not be off to a good start. So I come back at 11:01 and place my order for the El Burqueno burger with fries. That's a double smash cheeseburger with fried onions, green chiles, and a garlic ailoi on a grilled buttered bun. I grab a seat nearby to wait, and can see a commotion forming around the kitchen. Apparently, their frier would not turn on, so basically fries were taken to another restaurant in the food hall, brought back, and served to me. Which made things take a little longer, but was more a point of craziness for the staff than me. Neither the fries, or the burger suffered at all. In fact, the burger was one of the most on-point smashburgers I have had in recent memory. A wonderful brown crust on both smashed patties, and skirted with lots of melty cheese. The bun definitely had a rich buttery flavor, and it all came together nicely. So, mild curtness and foibles aside, this was a great stop, and I would recommend it to others seeking a smashburger adorned with chiles.
