Food is really good here and the pickle fries are a must with the sauce they serve on the side. We also had the fresh potato chips which were also good. I would pick the NM burger over the Maui burger. The Native Taco was super filling. Fish and chips also good. Service has ways been great the few times we've been here. There are board games you can play while you eat. They also do trivia here, but we haven't been here for it. Overall it's really good food here and an easy recommend for anyone. I was in desperate need of a good burger and so glad I came to check out Flatiron for that fix. I recently was with my brother and we decided to check out Flatiron for a burger and wings night. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice sunny weather, it was great. They have a solid selection of drinks including a very delicious house made root beer, the exact type of root beer I wanted. They also use that root beer to make an excellent barbeque sauce, totally awesome. We started with the chimayo buffalo wings which were thick with sauce, maybe a little too much to be fully honest, they choked me up a bit. Tried Flatiron tonight and had a great experience! While the menu isn't marked with gluten-free options, our server was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly about what dishes were--or could be--made gluten free. I had the chicken wings and French fries, and was happy to learn they have a dedicated (no gluten items) fryer (a rare find in Albuquerque!). Nice dinner at flatiron last night! I saw on their website live music every Saturday, I wasn't expecting live music on Friday as well! The band was REALLY good, great lead singer, but it was soooooo loud we couldn't have a conversation, and I was meeting with an old friend trying to catch up. I guess I should have guessed it might be that vibe but I didn't see anything about live music on Friday when I was checking out the menu. We moved outside to the patio after eating which was really really nice, would be even better on a warmer night!! Our food was really good! I got the chicken sandwich with bacon and green chile, very yummy! I do not like their fries and do not recommend, they were not crispy and not worth it for your side choice! The pickle fries were confusing, some were really delicious and crispy while others were soaked in oil and completely soggy mess. (To be honest the majority of the pickles were stuck together soggy mess, but there were some yummy crispy ones mixed in.) I would try a different app next time I visit. Our server was wonderful! Came to this fun little place to listen to a few bands play for a fundraiser for a child. It was super crowded but I found a place to sit. I ordered a peanut butter porter and it was to die for!!! We decided to come to this place on a Sunday and it was such a good choice. Flatiron is located by Cliffs and the Albuquerque Great Academy. This place is more than just a brewery as the food is amazing. There are a lot of seating options and a football game was on the screen. The staff was friendly and helpful as well as just pleasant to be around. We got a beer, Diet Coke, NM Bacon Yard Bird, house made chips, Calabacitas, and the Chicken Salad Sandwich. The food was delicious and the house made chips were my favorite. All together it was around $50 for two people. read more

At lunch, we were looking for something we haven't tried before. Flatiron showed on Yelp and it was close. The decor was nice, a bit on the dark, sports bar side, but the big windows gave enough light for lunch hour. The bartender and waiters were very attentive and friendly. For appetizers, our server said we counldn't go wrong with chile cheese fries. Even though they looked good, they lacked flavor and spice. We ordered the Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger with green chile and the House Apple Coleslaw. The burger patty was thick and juicy. It was mostly at medium temperature. The portion of avocado was quite impressive. However, just like the fries, the burger had very little flavor. The coleslaw was interesting but was quite heavy on the cinnamon. Truly, the service, portions, and look of the food could have made this experience a good one, but unfortunately it disappointed in flavor. read more

Come for the jazz and stay for the food and drinks. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is quaint. It's a small place and it's really not fancy. However, they do support local music and jazz night is filled with some excellent musicians. The burgers are really good. Nice little hole in the wall. We love this spot for Thursday night trivia!! The chips and queso are a great starter, with those homemade chips coming out crispy and a little garlicky. The fried pickles are also yummy, and both the burger and chicken sandwich are great entrees too. Lydiana is the sweetest waitress and takes amazing care of us. The live music on other nights can be pretty loud so it's hard to have conversation over it. read more

Really hit or miss during a happy hour visit. The star was the fish tacos. They were perfect. Flavorful fish with correct amount of batter. Fresh cabbage and lime. Only criticism would be to make them on a doubled tortilla. The selection of local beers is good. The overpriced cranberry margarita was a real miss and full price even during happy hour. Must have barely waved the tequila bottle over it. The atmosphere is bare industrial sports bar without any personality. Such a good place for getting good pub/bar style food and drinks! We went to go watch a football game. They also had a live band show up later on to play. The food was really great and server was very attentive. They have a good draft beer selection and also do cocktails but we only tried the beer. We tried the pale ale and IPA, both very good. For appetizers we got the green chile cheese fries. These are probably the best cheese fries I have ever had. They were so good, nicely seasoned and the queso flavor with green chile was amazing. Enough to cover all the fries. For food, we did the BBQ burger with bacon and the prime rib sandwich with au jus. These were both very good, especially the sandwich. This is my second visit to this business; first time I just was there for a beverage and to listen to music. This time I dined. The outside decor is minimalist; in fact it is my opinion it can be a bit hard to find this place for your first time. Decor is relaxed and comfortable. I went to the Sunday evening jazz performance and jam session and had food. Wait staff friendly and accommodating. Menu is not extensive, but has several nice choices. I had steak with side of mashed potatoes and squash. Cooked exactly as ordered, and was out of the kitchen in good time. Crowd for the jams is pleasant and supportive; they know their music and applaud well done breaks. I add a star for places that support live music. read more

Being from Austin and tired from the drive, I searched places close to our hotel and this place caught my eye. While it's hidden away in a quiet strip center, the action inside is what matters. Our waitress, Rainey, was so friendly and exactly what we needed to help us figure out what we should eat and drink. We were very surprised this place wasn't more crowded on a Saturday night. The food, drinks, service and music kept my entire group from 14-50 years happy! Didn't get pictures of our Craftburger BBQ or Yardbuger BBQ, but both yummy. This was my second time in Flatiron and I enjoyed it both times. This time I came in craving a Cheeseburger and I ordered their NM Bacon Cheeseburger. I feel like this is one of the better burgers I have had locally. I like that they do it with American Cheese and this is probably the only restaurant that has property toasted the bun. The crunch from that was very satisfying. Probably close to a perfect burger. The fries were okay, probably would not get them again. Was worried when we came in as no one had food, but the food came out pretty quick and the service was good. The inside was also very clean and modern. Oh man! This place takes food to the next level. They have awesome ideas of seasonings/combinations of flavors! They get their Halibut flown in fresh from Alaska weekly! No better fish than good ole AK Halibut! The fish tacos were really good! They come with same seasoning that comes on their "elote bone in ribs," which is phenomenal. I will never eat here without an appetizer of the elote! It's top notch! The bread pudding is something I'd never order but a coworker did and made me try a bite and I was amazed at how good it was! Not soggy at all which is why I wouldn't usually order that, but very flavorful and I'd definitely get it on my own. I've been twice now and the 2nd time I ordered the Maui burger. Overall I was a little bummed with their Maui sauce. It tasted like soy sauce with maybe a small bit of teriyaki or something sweet added, but way to salty overall for me. The beef seemed quality though, and I also loved the bun! But, when I think of a Maui style burger I'm thinking sweet, not salty. The ole lady got the bbq pulled pork sandwich. The BBQ sauce is delicous! It's different! but great. The sandwich itself was not quite as good as I had hoped but it was solid enough. My pops loved his mushroom swiss burger. Goodness, I love this place! Tried to go to Don Choches, but it was closed due to whatever weather power outage. This was a relatively close 4 star joint.
