Green Chile cheeseburger, onion rings and carne asada taco.

With all the new burger restaurants and burger trends popping up, it's easy to forget that you've already had access to great burgers for decades. Rex's is exactly that place! The people are super friendly, the dining room is clean and not overly lit, the prices are amongst the lowest in town, and the knowledge of what they're doing and how to serve it is excellent. These are my favorite onion rings anywhere. The only other two that come close are on Viking Ocean, Cruise ships, and Red $obin (but we know those come in on a truck from somewhere).

Rexs is by far the best burger I've had in Abq. Meaty patties, ooof the cheese and the green Chili is just right. People are friendly. The interior is retro haha but who cares. The food is 10/10. My go to spot for a good burger

Another amazing visit to Rex's today for lunch! The girl working the register was so sweet, always great customer service here! My burger was delicious, the DIET COKE IS SOOOO CRISPY AND PERFECT. I love that I get one onion ring with the platter bc one onion ring is the perfect amount. Really love it here and definitely recommend

I tried Rex's again as they are one of the places I really like for burgers. My burger was delicious as usual. Of course I got the green chile cheeseburger, which is my standard around town, and it tasted delicious as always. My onion rings were a little under done this time. I only got three of them and they were chewy instead of crisp and hot. So that was a little disappointing. I've noticed their portioning has gotten quite a bit smaller and while I do understand it, they don't give you as much food as many of the other burger places around town. Rex's is still tasty and still a place from which I will order from time to time. Hopefully next time the onion rings will be a little bit better and they'll be a few more of them. I'm a little worried about them given that I got the wrong order a couple weeks ago and now the chewy onion rings. I hope they can improve a little bit. Otherwise I'm afraid they may be losing some of their longtime customers like me. I'm still gonna give them another shot though because they're local, I've eaten there for decades, and I love them. My order was ready on time and delivered quickly. Delivery instructions were followed. I haven't been in Rex's for quite some time so I can't comment on the ambience, but it was always a nice little burger spot with ample seating and large windows. Please give this local business a chance. Aside from the green chile cheeseburger, the mushroom swiss is also super yummy.

We went to Rex's because I was craving some chile cheese fries and this was close to where I was running errands. There were not to many people in the restaurant. We sat down but and the food came out super fast. My husband ordered the green Chile cheese burger platter (comes with fries, 2 onion rings and choice of applesauce or vanilla pudding) he chose the applesauce. I got the the chile cheese fries and a grilled cheese. I was not very hungry, and coming back from the stomach flu. The burger had a nice flavor and for the price was decent. The chile cheese fries were very tasty. We would definetly go back.

I wanted to give them a 4 but. The only reason was it said onion ring's'. And I got one onion ring. Thing is it was one great ring. steak strips were great, fries were good. basic freezer fair but good. chocolate float / shakes was yummy.

The food was okay, but not a lot for the portions. Two of the workers were smoking something that smelled like marijuana out front. And the tables were all dirty. The people were quite nice but it just wasn't nice in there. There must've been a problem with the air conditioning because it was quite hot.

Went to Rex's with my bestie today and it was a 10/10 like usual! I absolutely LOVE Rex's Hamburgers, I think it's one of the best Green Chile cheeseburgers in Abq!! The burger Patty tastes like good quality beef and the fries are always crunchy with a yummy side of apple sauce as a dessert! The Diet Coke was especially crisp today, I couldn't get enough! Everyone who works at Rex's is so sweet and and are so helpful! Love them! It's such a cute place, I always recommend to friends when they want a good burger!

Haven't been here in years so I thought I'd stop in for a burger. Got the popular green chili cheeseburger platter. The burger was great and full of flavor. The chili also had some good kick to it. The fries had a weird taste to them and they forgot my applesauce. Overall though the burger was the highlight as it should be!

Rex's burger is a great place for a local home feel kinda meal! We opted for Rex's rather than the Red Lobster next door! I wasn't terribly hungry so I was glad to see something lighter for me on the menu. The frjto pie caught my eye! The bf went their Garver burger! It's a big one two! Came fully loaded with two patties, cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, green chile and garnish of course. We shared his sides which consisted of some very fresh fries, 1 large (shareable) onion ring and a side of pudding! (Or apple sauce if you so choose!) We were both members of the clean plate club along with full tummy's.

Rex's food is amazing. Like a burger straight out of the 90's! Expensive though for what you get. All together worth it once in a while.

He walked away as I approached the counter. I was confused as I wasn't aware I had to order on the tablet on the counter. When I began using the tablet I was in search of the new mushroom burger they sent me an email yesterday about. Of course you know it's what I wanted to try. Sadly it wasn't on the menu on the tablet. When I called the employee for help I basically got the vibe he didn't want to be there and he was hesitant to approach. When he did come to the counter I asked about the burger even showed him the email to get told it's not out yet and it was coming soon. I found myself wondering why I even got the email if this was true. Needless to say the food came out really fast. I thought well that's good at least. The presentation was better than the experience. The cheese on the queso fries was pretty skimpy. There were way more fries than cheese which was disappointing. The burger I wasn't a fan of either. It needed more cheese and the stackers sauce tasted strange like it a chipotle sauce it wasn't the same as I recalled. I'm sad to say this is the second location I've had a bad experience with. It's really disappointing because I really loved this place. I guess I'll have to stick to the central food hall because so far that's the only location that hasn't disappointed me like this yet.

I knew Burger Boy from back in the Days of the great Bella Vista, Tinkertown, and etc., etc., along North 14 where I had lived back then. We were told, as we stepped in at 5:40 pm, by a clearly tired, grumpy counter girl, that: 'We are only doing Take Out," to us and the four people that came in behind us. I said, okay, I guess, and went on to order a double hamburger, and a regular burger with fries and drinks. She pointed at the cooler where their canned soda pop was, without another word. We got our 'drinks' and sat down to wait. The staff in the back was clearly miffed that people had shown up for service, too, as we heard stuff getting slammed around along with foul-mouthed whining from them, as we sat there watching and listening to the counter girl picking up and banging the chairs up onto the tables around us. Eighteen minutes later, we got the 35 dollar bag of food from her. The 'sandwiches' were garnished with chopped up lettuce, tomatoes, and onion mixed up in a goopy slather of mayo and ketchup. There was no salt on the fries or anything else on those bland over microwaved burger patties served on un-grilled hamburger buns. Exactly the Opposite of what I had known Burger Boy to be in the past. When I went up to try and return that stuff, the door was locked, and I was completely ignored even with the other four people still in there waiting. We were hungry, and I was done with that stupid place, so we left, and yes, we did eat that wretched meal. Obviously, I will never stop there again, and I will heep scorn upon that cruddy place any every chance I get for the rest of my days.

She also seemed very distracted and did not have good recall when we were putting in our orders. She came back several times to ask what our drink orders were before finally bringing over the tablet to enter in the information right in front of us. Secondly, our food took forever to come. This also happened the first time we came to eat at social house a year ago, but it felt more pronounced this time. And the restaurant was not full. Probably a third full of patrons? We were seated at 6:45 and our food did not arrive until 830. Quite the wait if you ask me. Finally, the kitchen was having some sort of smoke issue. If you've never been in an establishment where the grease smell and smoke is visibly accumulating in the air, you know it's quite distracting from a dining experience. It was so smoky inside. I actually caught myself blinking my eyes to see if it was just my vision being blurry or if it was the room. Our food was fine, the pork belly was a standout. Otherwise, I'm not sure I need to come here again. I wish that they would get a better handle on service timing, because that seems to be an ongoing issue.

Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. Both adults also got the pork belly flatbread. I found it a bit unbalanced with too much sauce and not enough other toppings, and the base wasn't as crispy as I prefer.
