Having one person playing in the bar area just adds more noise. A full live band is loud and energetic which drowns the noise and gets people on the dance floor and sit there tapping and/or nodding their head. Before 2026, MJ's in Spotswood had full bands playing almost every weekend. Now it is just the other way around with one or two musicians. You really need a drummer to get people on the dance floor. The Cabin restaurant in Freehold on the other hand always has full bands playing every weekend and the dance floor is always packed as well as the rest of the restaurant. We like MJ's in Spotswood since it is close by us and our friends. We hope it will bring back full bands on the weekends regularly. Also, We went to MJ's in Spotswood last Tuesday night (5/26) for their prime rib dinner special. It didn't come with a salad. Asked for an end cut but they said they don't serve them. The prime rib on both plates had globs of un-rendered fat and gristle but no crust. We spent half of our time trimming the fat and gristle away. The cheese on the baked potato was not even melt. The bacon bits on the baked potato were so dry and hard. No butter or sour cream. The only thing good on the plate was the green beans. So not sure their prime rib dinner is worth the price.

As mentioned, the food quality is exceptional, very flavorful and always fresh. Chicken chunks are very tender and well seasoned. The rice is delicious and the salad is always fresh, crisp and cold. They have a wide variety of sauces and they always ask if you need more. And, yes, the platters are enormous. It is literally impossible to walk out of this place feeling hungry. The Halal Spot also has lamb, falafel, butter chicken and wide variety of other dishes. So if you are looking for a place that serves outstanding food, enormous portions that is reasonably priced. Your "go-to" spot should be The Halal Spot. Yes, it is that good!

Also, the fries are rarely fresh you have to explicitly tell them to give you fresh fries. The sides like apple pies usually come burnt. Last time ordering from this Mcdonald's it's by far one of the worst I've ever visited. Do not waste your time.

i used to love this location, until a manager began to act up. his attitude was as big as his bloated stomach. my man didn't even have the brain capacity to figure out how to pull up my mobile order and had the AUDACITY to call me a retard as i explained to him how to pull it up. before i drove off, the manager flipped me off and threw out my food, which i was ok with since he had prepared it after pissing his pants like my 2 year old son would do. although the experience was horrendous, the young man that took my cash deserves a raise, who apologized for his half expired manager's immature behavior. read more

This is the shitty place I have been to. I placed an order and they forget something so I went up to order again but this lowlife (Jeffrey I think his name was) told me that I was trying to get free food there. When I told the manager, he was too weak to do anything and told us that he was going to talk to the employee. I was really offended by this behavior and I highly recommend that you eat someplace else than eat at this shitty place. read more

I was there and wanted to dine in with my daughter and grandbabies. The smell of marijuana was horrific. There's a red headed employee that smells so bad of marijuana, it's disgusting. I had to take the food back to my car to eat and enjoy it. The bathrooms smell of marijuana. Terrible and horrifying.
