We dinedat Brothers a couple of times now so I think I can confidently say it's one of best pizza/ Italian restaurants in the EB area. The bread is consistently great. The pastas are tasty too - we've had the chicken alfredo fettuccine a couple of times now. The broccoli rabe with sausage is also good. The sausage is a tad salty but tastes good and in a home made kind of way. The penne and the broccoli rabe were perfect. Pizzas here are also pretty good though we've only ordered by the slice. Brought my daughter in, after we had our pizza and when we went to pay...she pointed and asked what is that (zeppole) I told her... the worker that was at the counter heard the conversation and gave her one for free... 10/5/25 - After all my Mexican food dining in Ocean City, I was really craving New Jersey pizza. So I headed off to Brothers Pizza in East Brunswick, NJ. What's that you say? You have a Brothers Pizza in your town too? We all do. I bet you have a Frank's Pizza as well. The Brothers Pizza in East Brunswick is located right on Rte 18. And the place is really top of the line. I was tired of watching the Yankees getting beat up so I decided to go and order two pies upon arrival. I ordered one plain cheese pie and one grandma pie. The plain was excellent but had a few issues. But they are very minor. The outer crust was a bit on the whitish side but oddly it was still crispy, chewy and moist. The slice itself was a bit limp but not limp to the point where the toppings slide off. If you are a cheese lover, this may be your place because it is very abundant. Its premium as well. The undercrust is a golden brown and the limpness issue is easily solved by folding the outer crust. The sauce is excellent too. It has great flavor and is seasoned well with the standard Italian spices. Because of the heavy cheese to sauce ratio, this is a very hearty plain neopolitan pie and sure to please the most discerning pizza lover in your home. If I was rating just this pie, I'd give the place an A-. The grandma pie was other worldly. It is a square pizza prepared in a pan and not as thick as a Sicilian pie but still spectacular. The entire crust is dark brown but not at all burned. Its crispy, crunchy, flavorful perfection. They use fresh mozzarella on it but the star here is the sauce. The sauce is tangy, chunky and well seasoned and there's plenty of it making each bite "juicy" and extremely satisfying. The flavor here between the sauce, fresh mozzarella and Italian seasonings is unmatched. It is truly a top of the line pie and I highly recommend you trying it. If I was grading just this pie, it is easily an A+. For my rating, it would only be fair to split the difference in ratings of the two pies. Overall Rating: A read more

The pizza here is great! The crust is just the right amount of thickness, and all the toppings are fresh and delicious. This pizzeria has been here for years and the high quality remains consistent. You can buy a whole pie or get slices at the counter. There's a refrigerator with bottled water, Snapples, and Sodas. The hardworking staff is polite and welcoming. Now that it's Pandemic Times, this establishment is doing a very good job of keeping us all safe . Staff is all wearing masks, requiring that customers were masks, and limiting the number of customers inside. Hand sanitizer and paper towels are provided at the entrance, which I greatly appreciate. I wish more places did that. As of today, 9/19/2020, there is outdoor seating only, but it seems that indoor dining will be allowed soon. Brothers is located near the end of a strip mall that has plenty of free parking. It is convenient to get to from Old Bridge turnpike and also from Route 18. You can either dine in or carry out. I carried out a large cheese pie, half with toppings. which was made to order and ready in about 20 minutes. I've eaten here a few times, and it's already my favorite pizzeria in NJ. I recommend getting pizza by the slice and dining in. When they take the slice from the display and put it back in the oven, the crust gets this perfect crispy texture while the dough stays nice and chewy. The pizza/marinara sauce they use is so rich and flavorful. The white pizzas can be a hit or a miss. The Balsamic Chicken pizza was very good, but the Pesto Chicken was dry and not seasoned as well. The Garlic Knots were solid. I also tried their Chicken Parm Sandwich, and I was a fan. It had thick cuts of breaded chicken cutlets, their delicious marinara sauce, and gooey cheese between two very soft sub rolls. The bread was maybe a bit too soft, but I didn't mind it too much. Could this be the answer to consistently good pizza in East Brunswick? All have tried, none have come close. Some have flickers of hope, only to have the flame extinguished quickly. Brothers seems to be the the one that holds up over time. Compared to other slices, their crust is bigger and chewier. Their slice is also perhaps one of the saltier ones, but it tastes pretty darn good. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. We thought the stuff shells were great (4/5), and the pizza was just okay (probably 2/5, although I think I might have been given a margarita slice instead of a vodka sauce slice). I walk in and the guy behind the counter gives not even a gesture of acknowledgment that I've entered! I see my order on top of the oven. Its the only one there. I would not ask nor expect immediate attention but a head nod or a "one minute" would suffice. This was part of a mini strip mall. It was a standard pizzeria with about 10 or so tables. There were lots of orders being picked up and the phone never stopped ringing. It seemed like a popular place, which seemed to be positive. The menu had a regular selection of Italian favorites with great prices for the amount of food that was given. The service was appreciated while the food came out piping hot. A personal cheese pizza ($9) was ordered to share. This was much bigger than anticipated. It was terrific. The sauce was light and tasty while the cheese had just the right amount present while the pizza as a whole was perfectly cooked. I also had a calzone with pepperoni ($7.50). This was huge as well. This was another delicious Italian specialty. My only concern was the ratio of dough to filling as there was too much dough present given the amount of cheese and pepperoni. It was also courteous of the staff to give a new container of their marinara sauce to go with the calzone that was not finished and taken home. I also had a salad, which was a normal house salad. I called Brothers to ask what soups they have for my wife, who isn't feeling well. They said pasta fagioli and chicken minestrone, so I headed over there to order a chicken minestrone and a slice of pizza, only to be treated like trash by a bald man in an apron who gave a bad vibe and attitude. He was flustered for no reason, or maybe before I came in. Something inside me snapped, but I didn't react or say anything to him. It just hurt. I asked someone else to throw my pizza away even though I paid for it. I lost my appetite. The bottom line is to treat people respectfully because you don't know how their day is going. My wife likes the soup, and I can't badmouth their food because it is good. Their business will continue on and I guess if your food is good, you don't have to be kind to customers. But unfortunately, I will stop eating there. I was made to feel like I should have memorized the menu, and I was some schmuck for asking which soups they had today. Brothers tastes like childhood to me. My family and I have been dining here for nearly 30 years now. Mancinis across town has only been open for a few years, but definitely presents itself as a strong competitor in the East Brunswick Italian game. Yes, they have a much larger menu and a more lively dine-in atmosphere. But, at the end of the day it's all about quality of food and brothers has got some of the best. What we always order: -Vodka slice. Their vodka sauce is to die for. This is a perfect grab and go lunch option. -A hippie roll. Or, a "famous hippie roll" as the brothers call it. Gooey and stringy mozzarella cheese with sausage, peppers and onions. It's badazzzz. -Chicken parm dinner. Hands down, THE BEST chicken parm I've ever eaten. Huge pieces of breaded chicken dripping in red sauce and cheese, served with mounds of pasta and bread. The portions are huge and a chicken parm dinner with a hippie roll is the perfect share for my family of 4. Order an extra side of the infamous red sauce.
