10/5/25 - After all my Mexican food dining in Ocean City, I was really craving New Jersey pizza. So I headed off to Brothers Pizza in East Brunswick, NJ. What's that you say? You have a Brothers Pizza in your town too? We all do. I bet you have a Frank's Pizza as well. The Brothers Pizza in East Brunswick is located right on Rte 18. And the place is really top of the line. I was tired of watching the Yankees getting beat up so I decided to go and order two pies upon arrival. I ordered one plain cheese pie and one grandma pie. The plain was excellent but had a few issues. But they are very minor. The outer crust was a bit on the whitish side but oddly it was still crispy, chewy and moist. The slice itself was a bit limp but not limp to the point where the toppings slide off. If you are a cheese lover, this may be your place because it is very abundant. Its premium as well. The undercrust is a golden brown and the limpness issue is easily solved by folding the outer crust. The sauce is excellent too. It has great flavor and is seasoned well with the standard Italian spices. Because of the heavy cheese to sauce ratio, this is a very hearty plain neopolitan pie and sure to please the most discerning pizza lover in your home. If I was rating just this pie, I'd give the place an A-. The grandma pie was other worldly. It is a square pizza prepared in a pan and not as thick as a Sicilian pie but still spectacular. The entire crust is dark brown but not at all burned. Its crispy, crunchy, flavorful perfection. They use fresh mozzarella on it but the star here is the sauce. The sauce is tangy, chunky and well seasoned and there's plenty of it making each bite "juicy" and extremely satisfying. The flavor here between the sauce, fresh mozzarella and Italian seasonings is unmatched. It is truly a top of the line pie and I highly recommend you trying it. If I was grading just this pie, it is easily an A+. For my rating, it would only be fair to split the difference in ratings of the two pies. Overall Rating: A

Both the cheese & Grandma pizzas are very good. Plenty of seating with TV on. Located in a quiet strip mall with easy parking.

I love this spot. Anytime I'm home in Jersey I make it a point to stop by before I fly back home. The pizza here is perfectly thin, not too greasy and holds to the end when you fold it. The subs are ginormous and they always stuff it full. The workers are all super courteous and I always feel right at home here. Plenty of tables and a couple booths. I wish I didn't live across the country :(

Was in the area, so had to try. Slices are delicious. Crust is a little thicker than I prefer but it's not dough-y. Sauce and cheese was delicious as well. Tried the vodka & cheese slice. Looking forward to trying more options on the menu

Still the best pizza in the area and the reason we keep coming back. Great pizza and great food.

If you're a Staten Island transplant, you're going to love this pizza. They don't do delivery, but who wants to wait an hour for cold pizza. It's well worth picking it up yourself. They do pizza the right way!

The pizza here is great! The crust is just the right amount of thickness, and all the toppings are fresh and delicious. This pizzeria has been here for years and the high quality remains consistent. You can buy a whole pie or get slices at the counter. There's a refrigerator with bottled water, Snapples, and Sodas. The hardworking staff is polite and welcoming. Now that it's Pandemic Times, this establishment is doing a very good job of keeping us all safe . Staff is all wearing masks, requiring that customers were masks, and limiting the number of customers inside. Hand sanitizer and paper towels are provided at the entrance, which I greatly appreciate. I wish more places did that. As of today, 9/19/2020, there is outdoor seating only, but it seems that indoor dining will be allowed soon. Brothers is located near the end of a strip mall that has plenty of free parking. It is convenient to get to from Old Bridge turnpike and also from Route 18. Thank you, Brothers, for satisfying my pizza needs!

I've eaten here a few times, and it's already my favorite pizzeria in NJ. I recommend getting pizza by the slice and dining in. When they take the slice from the display and put it back in the oven, the crust gets this perfect crispy texture while the dough stays nice and chewy. The pizza/marinara sauce they use is so rich and flavorful. The white pizzas can be a hit or a miss. The Balsamic Chicken pizza was very good, but the Pesto Chicken was dry and not seasoned as well. The Garlic Knots were solid. I also tried their Chicken Parm Sandwich, and I was a fan. It had thick cuts of breaded chicken cutlets, their delicious marinara sauce, and gooey cheese between two very soft sub rolls. The bread was maybe a bit too soft, but I didn't mind it too much. The service was friendly, and the restaurant had a classic family-owned pizzeria vibe. I'll be coming back to eat here whenever I want pizza.

For appys, we had a wedge salad w/ a slice of bacon, which my wife enjoyed. I had baked clams, which I loved! For dinner, my wife had Filet Mignon and mac & cheese on the side. The meat was cooked perfectly and the mac & cheese was great. I had a Wagyu rib eye cap and Brussel sprouts on the side. The meat was perfect, and so were the sprouts. For dessert, my wife had the affogato, which both of us loved. The only disappointment of the night was the Tiramisu, not flavorful at all. The service was top-notch, I appreciated that the waiter was not a kid, which so many places use these days. It's very expensive, $380 for two (BYOB), including tip. As great a meal as it was, I don't think I will be a regular. If I come back, it won't be for the steak, mine cost $115. The mains don't include sides, it's all a la carte. If the money doesn't bother you, or it's a special occasion, I highly recommend this restaurant. Somebody in that kitchen, knows what they are doing!

I was especially looking forward to ordering the ribeye and lit up instantly when the server listed it as one of the specials. The server shared that he would need to collect the orders for all of our courses at the same time which was fine with me. I actually had more confidence in the timing of everything for that reason. Our server had a delightful energy particularly at the beginning of our visit. After we placed our orders, everything began to fall apart. It did get noticeably busy since we first arrived, but we ultimately waited for our main entrees for over 3 hours. 3 hours. The table ordered the charred octopus and the oysters to start. The oysters hit the table fairly quickly, but then we began to gradually notice how long it was taking for the octopus to come. I had only a slither of the octopus so that I could say I tried it. Everyone at the table raved about the taste. I did, however, agree that their oysters were delicious especially when dressed with a little bit of mignonette, lemon, horseradish and a touch of Tabasco sauce. I'm excited to now report that I am a fan of fresh oysters from the east coast, because apparently the coast matters. The table also ordered the canaletto stuffed with mascarpone, parmesan and another cheese, langostines and lobster with morel mushroom cream sauce, garnished with truffles. I passed on this one also as it was too adventurous for my taste buds; although, their delicious bread and our drinks did distract me for a little while. The restaurant is BYOB, so we had our wine to keep us company while we observed other tables come and go. We eventually asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty which was either untrue or a very poor decision on the part of the owners considering it was a Friday evening. Having someone occasionally check in with our table may have also helped to take the pressure off of the server who may have gotten overwhelmed or decided to prioritize other tables. Having a manager offer a personal apology may have helped us feel less forgotten about. After the three hour mark, we decided this was enough. I didn't have much to eat at this point, but I wasn't at all worried initially since I was there for the main event, the ribeye. I stopped a hostess who was walking past our table and asked for the manager. We were again told the manager is not here but can be called, if needed. I simply replied, "Please do". Shortly afterwards, I noticed our server who at this time was standing by the host stand briskly walk into the kitchen and then return to our table with our plates. I sent the food back which was a decision that was supported by everyone at the table. Let me tell you, that was a difficult decision to make, but I also was ready to call it a night. Our mood had changed, and I truly felt like we were derservant of having the same experience as everyone else that night. Our server apologized for his part to play in the ordeal which I appreciated since I know his intention was never malicious, but unfortunately we had to call this night a bust. He offered us dessert on the house, and our entire meal was comped which we felt was an appropriate resolution. I ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bread pudding which was a favorite. Very good. Jasper Stone is a beautiful establishment with decorative yellow and white floral arrangements throughout the dining area. It is clearly a popular restaurant and has many positive reviews. I regret that I could not have a comparable experience.
