I chose the, NY Strip with two sides for $22. In addition to the dinner specials, they had Martinis for $5. That's an affordable meal, or a very budget friendly date. As my usual, dining a lone so I sat at the bar. I started out with a, Dirty Martini. I kinda knew I was going to order the NY Strip, but I still took a moment and looked over the menu. I mainly was studying what sides were available. I ordered my steak, medium rare and the kitchen nailed it. Typically I order a side house salad when eating at CHT, but tonight I paid an up-charge and enjoyed their Brussels Sprouts. My second side was a huge Baked Potato. It was so big, I took half of it home and had American Fries with my breakfast. For $22, it was a delicious meal. Being a busy Saturday night, the bartender did a good job taking care of the servers and guest sitting at the bar. Good Service, Good Food and Good Value will have me returning to Charcoal House Tavern.

I had plans to go on Friday for one of their Lenten Specials, but when I saw on Facebook that the Thursday special was Fried Chicken, I changed my mind and I am glad I did. The chicken was super crispy and full of flavor. The four pieces were good sized and the meat was tender and juicy. It came with two sides, the promo suggested, mashed potatoes with milk gravy and French style green beans. If you want to, they allow you to choose other sides off the menu. I don't know why somebody would want to, the sides they recommended makes for a Sunday Dinner feeling. The service is always great. All of the staff are friendly and the owner goes around talking to all his guest. I typically sit at the bar and I like that they have outlets and hooks under the bar. Outlets come in handy when you need a quick charge and the hooks for purses or a jacket. They offer live music of Friday and Saturday and the huge patio is dog friendly. She didn't care for the seasoning but she's admitted picky with a very low tolerance for spicy food. I had mine with traditional hash browns and eggs over easy. I've had better country fried steak but it was decent and the meal was otherwise great. Everything was served on one plate, just the way I like it, allowing me to mix things up with my hash browns and biscuits. The biscuits are served on the side of the plate, not topped with gravy in case you'd rather have butter and/or jelly on your biscuits, and they were hot and fluffy with good flavor. It was a very filling meal. The wait staff were great, friendly and responsive. We'll be sure to return to try other items from their impressive menu.

They pointed to a hand written note on a window and said that they did put signs out. They said that there are signs everywhere. I did not see any signs and there were others there that didn't see them as well. Those hand written notices may work for people that walk into the restaurant but most people going through the drive-through are probably not going to see it. A large sign saying "Sorry but we are closed" posted on the back of that van sitting next to the intercom would have made things a whole lot easier.
