The place itself is rustic and relatively quiet, even though they were quite busy. The service was great and friendly, the close-caption TVs were tuned to the Padres game - 2,500 miles from San Diego and we still got to watch our hometown team. The kitchen was a little slow turning out dishes, so when my wife's Pesto Pasta turned out to be something else, she didn't even say anything. The colors were amazing. So Autumn and Winter (if there is snow) would be the best viewing of the canal. Too bad they can't add like a back deck of something for Spring, Summer and Autumn. We were told " soup wasn't included" (even though we were here a month ago and were not charged for soup), and I was told that only one trip to the salad bar was included - I certainly could have carried both plates in one trip had I known.
