For the french toast she asked if I wanted a small or big stack. I didn't have glasses on or I might've noticed on the menu short=1, full=2. Using the same terminology or explaining would've been very helpful because when only one piece of toast arrived from my shorter "stack" I was very surprised. The mimosas were in small flute glasses which is way overpriced for the size. My husband's coffee was meant to have refills but we had to flag her down for that. She didn't actually bring us anything either, other wait staff brought the drinks and then the meals. The food was good, the ambience if you have the right seat is nice too. At the hostess station we overheard a phone call with someone requesting to be by the fireplace and now I see why. Will not return to this location when we're in town on a getaway this summer but might try the one in Pittsford or Penfield.

After eating for a bit, I moved my egg and there was a small blonde hair under my egg. When we told the server, she didn't seem to care but took our food away. She asked if we wanted it remade but at that point we were too grossed out to want to eat. Instead of a refund, they charged us full price and we didn't even get an apology. My first and last time that we are eating here!

After a ten-minute wait at this "fast food" site, I was out the door for the last time! My faith in the future was at least partially restored when I visited Charlie's. While waiting for my order - taken by a cheerful and engaged worker - I observed the workflow in the restaurant and was astounded by the level of effort and competence that I saw in that short period. Although everyone remained busy taking care of the counters and tables, cleaning, tidying up and refilling dispensers, I noticed one young lady who had clearly mastered the art of multi-tasking. While moving from one end of the counter to another to take care of customers, she grabbed a cloth and wiped down the counters on her way. During a few moments of available time, a broom appeared in her hand and the floor was swept clean. As I was observing, I attempted to identify a manager or supervisor and could not do that. That suggests to me that the culture at Charlie Reidel's has evolved to a point where these dedicated employees take ownership of and pride in their jobs. They don't need managers or supervisors standing over their shoulders to force the work to be done. Oh, the food was delicious too.

Now I know Shake Shack says everything is cooked to order, but essentially its burgers and chicken sandwiches with Fries. That's basically what everyone orders foodwise for the most part. I was no exception. Then I sat down, and waited, and waited, and waited. 25 minutes since ordering, and nothing. The two guys who ordered in front of me were also frustrated, and one guy was trying to convince an employee manager to give him a refund. Now all the time I was ahead of schedule was gone, I was starving and annoyed. Finally I get a text message and walk up. They looked at me like I had two heads until I showed them the text. One guy goes and looks and acts like he had discovered gold and gives me a thumbs up. Is he kidding me? It's fast food and he still doesn't bring the bag over. Finally a very large person walks over, and carries four bags from one counter to the one we were standing in front of. I can see my name clearly on the bag, and even though he tried to stop me, I just pointed to my name and went off to eat. I probably should have just gone to my car and started driving to make up some of the time, but opened the bag and realized this wasn't some grand conspiracy to ruin my trip timing, but more just pure incompetence. Of course, my chicken sandwich which was supposed to come with bacon and avocado, had neither. But there was zero chance I was going back to these people and have me wait another 5-10 minutes. I just ate it very quickly, including the fries. They tasted good, but I honestly was not happy and have waited 3 days to write this. Food was okay. Service was awful. So that was unfortunate. Still a nice person. Suuuuper quick in wanting us to order tho and by the time we got there the breakfast rush was definitely over. So It's ok to slow down some, sis lol. The server, Beth, was efficient, helpful, and friendly. The food came to me hot and tasty, and, sooner than I expected considering how busy the place was. Sitting at the counter, I was impressed how well the staff worked together. It is a well oiled machine. Pricing was inline with other similar diner/restaurants.
