Nice place, the store is clean and spacious. Many parking spots available. Just like other Burger Kings, the food is delicious.

Wow! I am really impressed with this chain. Frequently visiting St. Laurent mall, I walked the food…read morecourt over and over again, and just wanted something different, and "healthier". I nervously popped into Poulet Rouge, intimidated by the menu and all the choices and received the friendliest service. I ordered a mini bowl with lettuce as a base. They offer plant based chicken, and opted for that, going with the shisha garlic flavour. The mini comes with a choice of 1 sauce and 3 toppings. I went with the chipotle sauce which had some nice kick to it. I topped it with cucumber, feta and tzatziki. The bowl was a perfect size for a quick light dinner. The plant based chicken was smokey and it was grilled to order. They have a couple seats to dine in away from the food court. Service was super quick and they were so friendly when I asked for recommendations. (sorry I forgot to take a picture, but I will next time I am there, because its now a new fave)

You can get everything without chicken too if you are a vegetarian/vegan, but they do not have alternate proteins. This location is in the St Laurent Shopping Centre (the other location in Ottawa is at the Rideau Centre). It's in the food court, but they actually have their own private seating, although you can bring your food to the main food court seating as well. I've had Poulet Rouge before, in Montreal, and at the Rideau Centre location as well. I really like the food at this chain. This visit I got the build your own Rouge Bowl ($10.99). You get to choose a chicken flavour (Hercules/lemon, Shisha/garlic, Fusion/BBQ or Volcano/spicy), a base (brown rice or bulgur, you can upgrade to quinoa for an additional cost), a dressing, and 7 toppings. I got the Hercules chicken with brown rice, no dressing, spinach, tomatoes, beets, bell peppers, black beans, cheese, and tzatziki (which counts as a topping and not a dressing). The food here is consistent with the location at Rideau. I feel like they might be a bit more generous with the meats in Montreal, but it's been a while since I've been there, so it might be they've shrunk portions everywhere. The chicken portion is still good, and my bowl was still very tasty. Service was friendly and the place looks clean. Poulet Rouge is definitely a welcomed addition to the St. Laurent food court :)

They have a Brew Bar. Funny story, my brother loves A&W and used to work near this location before it opened up. He lamented how he wished there was an A&W near his work so he could go there for lunch. Shortly after he stopped working there, they opened up this A&W, haha. It's a relatively new location. I think it opened in 2021 or 2022. I've been to this location a few times. It's around the corner from a Winners (my favourite place to shop) and my husband has been known to go in and grab a Buddy Burger or two while he's waiting for me to finish shopping, lol. Their food is consistent, the space is clean, and staff are friendly. They recently launched their Brew Bar at this location, so now they also sell Root Beer slushies, fruit smoothies, creamy shakes, frozen lemonade, cold brews and lattes. We were there during this launch. They had a DJ playing tunes, the place was decorated with balloons and they had a spin the wheel game set up out front to win A&W merchandise. I won a bottle opener and my husband won a frisbee. We also got coupons to try a free small drink from the Brew Bar. I got the Strawberry Smoothie and my husband got the Acai Mixed Berries Smoothie. The regular price is $3.99 each. The smoothies are made by this automated machine. It's fun to watch. The smoothies were good, but a bit too sweet for my liking. They are made with real fruit puree, but I'm certain there's added sugar. The Mixed Berries one had a bit of an artificial aftertaste, which the Strawberry one didn't have. I feel that this location is more for people who live or work nearby or tourists or if you're already in the area doing something else. There's no parking. Street parking is hard to come by and not all that close. It is right by Parliament Station though, so easily accessible by public transit. This location is open 24/7.

The Short Version: Chain restaurant serving…read moreNorth-Americanized Italian food for the masses. If you set your expectations accordingly, it's A-OK for what it is. The Long Version: Anyone who knows me knows I always prefer small independent businesses than big chains, so chains are rarely ever my first choice for places to eat, but I usually don't make a fuss if I'm part of a group and others want to go. Anyway, East Side Mario's is a Canadian chain that started out in London Ontario back in the 1980s. Since then it's grown to over 60 locations across Canada, with the bulk of them in Ontario. I would describe it as serving North-Americanized Italian food that would satisfy a large group including those who aren't too adventurous. Their claim to fame is their unlimited garlic loaves, soup and salad. I have been to many East Side Mario's over the years, always as part of a group. However, I only recently visited this particular location for the first time. I would say it's pretty much the same as any of the other locations I've been to. Service was friendly, decor I imagine is dictated by corporate because they all have the same look and feel, and food was fine for what it is. I was there for lunch and had the Pizza from the lunch menu. It was $14.99 for a personal-sized pizza with 2 toppings and my choice of soup, salad or fries. I chose the garden salad with the dressing on the side. For my toppings I chose grilled chicken and mixed peppers. The lunch specials do not come with unlimited garlic loaves, soup and salad. You can add it on for an extra $5.99, but I did not do that. My pizza was all right. The crust was thin and it wasn't overly saucy, which I appreciated. It tasted similar to Domino's pizza in my opinion. I liked that the mixed peppers were green and red bell peppers. Makes it look prettier with more colours. The chicken was a decent amount and tasted similar to the ready-to-eat grilled chicken pieces sold in the deli section at grocery stores. The garden salad was iceberg lettuce (not my favourite type of lettuce), red onions, tomatoes, black olives, croutons and a pepperoncini pepper. The dressing was their house Italian dressing. I liked that it wasn't too oily. It came on the side, as requested. Ingredients were fresh. Oh one thing I enjoy is that they offer freshly grated Parmesan cheese on everything you order. So I did have a light sprinkling on both my salad and on my pizza. My friends both had the salmon and shrimp spaghetti ($26.49) from their special "Garlic Fest" menu which is for a limited time only. Their meals came with unlimited garlic loaves, soup and salad. They both got Ceasar salads and only ate one portion each. They didn't have any soup. They seemed to enjoy their meals though. Although I didn't get any dessert, I saw they had mini desserts for $2.99, which is great for a small sweet ending to your meal without overindulging. I think more places should offer mini desserts. I also didn't have any cocktails but noticed they were very reasonably priced at around $7 each. This location is in a plaza. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. Review #112 (2026)
