The lot is cracked and patched in the manner of old knees. The edges are tufted with weeds doing their best impression of prairie grass. The stop sign by the exit has given up on vertical life and now leans against its pole like it is waiting for a bus that will never come. But step inside and you find yourself in a different story. The place is clean and bright, and the people who work there seem to have won some secret lottery for friendliness. The young teen at the register was a trainee. We may have been her first solo customers. Her manager hovered at a respectful distance, smiling but silent, like a lighthouse keeper watching a small boat navigate the channel. She did just fine. The food was exactly what you want from Arby's if you are the kind of person who occasionally wants Arby's. I had my usual Beef n' Cheddar with curly fries. It was good. My wife and older son split a cheeseburger and potato wedges and declared themselves satisfied. My youngest had mac and cheese and loved it in a way that suggested he might dream about it later. This Arby's is perfectly positioned for an easy on-and-off stop that feels like a rest area without the inflated rest area prices. In the world of Arby's, this was about as good as it gets, short of someone coming outside with a weed trimmer and upright stop sign.

Super nice folks that greet and take care of you. Lots of really comfy booths. I wanted to try the molcajetes with the shrimp, chicken, and steak. It's big enough to share! That thing comes out steaming and gorgeous. Honestly, I loved the sauce and queso best. The chorizo is nice. Of the others, I think I liked the shrimp best, though the chicken had great flavor. Nice fresh smaller tortillas are the real deal, too. We had the side of guacamole. Very nice. I want more next time. We ordered the rice a beans side. So good, I think we'll get two orders next time. We added the carne asada to the nachos. That green sauce on the side is great! I prefer the carne in thin slices. Yea, we still had leftovers! Nice brews on tap.

Obviously, we chose Diego and it was the right choice!! A mid-afternoon Sunday in May is not a busy time for Poconos restaurants so the parking lot was empty but we were greeted with warmth and smiles as the rain water dripped from our clothes and hair (Thank goodness for their cloth napkins!). Since tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and there are plans for feasting on the holiday the choice for this rainy day was Diego's "Goat Burger." It was an AWESOME and flavorful burger the goat cheese melted throughout the huge burger patty only enhanced each bite. It's the best burger I have had in some time covered with a really great sesame seed bun (Looking out through the window as the rain poured down I could see that familar yellow arch thinking what a fantastic relaxing experience this was compared to burgers in a bag ). Service was great throughout... our waiter did his best to add dessert to the order but the road called however I cross this intersection periodically and next time ole... I will try one of their Mexican options.

We ordered two 12-inch Italian subs from Gagliano's in Albrightsville, PA. At first glance, the…read moresubs looked decent enough, but unfortunately, the experience went downhill pretty quickly. The bread was extremely chewy and tasted like it may have been a day or two old. The tomatoes were sliced so thin you could practically see through them, and the onions weren't far behind. There was also no mayo, mustard, oil and vinegar, crushed red pepper, or really anything that gave the sandwiches much flavor. As my fiancée and I like to say: there was no flavor flavor. For an Italian sub, it was surprisingly bland. The bigger concern came later that night. Within a few hours of eating, both of us became ill with stomach issues that lasted into the night. We obviously can't say with certainty that the subs were the cause, and I don't want to make an accusation we can't prove. However, the fact that we both experienced stomach issues after eating the same meal was concerning enough that I feel it's worth mentioning. Afterward, we took a closer look at what was left of the sandwiches, and the overall quality and freshness of some of the ingredients left us questioning what we had eaten. Unfortunately, between the chewy, stale-tasting bread, paper-thin toppings, complete lack of condiments and seasoning, and both of us feeling ill afterward, Gagliano's was a major disappointment. An Italian sub doesn't need to reinvent the wheel, but it should at least taste fresh and have some flavor flavor. Based on our experience, we wouldn't order from here again.

This review is for the restaurant in the lodge, we didn't stay at the lodge:…read more Went here over 4th of July weekend with the entire family, sisters and nephews to see the fireworks. Needed a place to eat and we were sort of a captured audience - didn't see any other places within walking distance. Having grown up going to the Poconos for vacation weekends for the last 30 years, I have come to lower my expectations. You just don't get as good food or service in the area as a large city. That said, I would like to add that in the last 10+ years the area has gotten much better, more options. I cannot recommend this restaurant. First, the place smells dank. I can only assume it is because there is carpet in the dinning area - why someone would put carpet in a restaurant is beyond me. It just gets wet and grungy over time, no way to clean it out. The service we awfully slow. We sat down, and we did get water and bread pretty much right away. However after that no server for 10-15 minutes. Had to ask twice for someone to come over. This is a very long wait, especially when you have little kids. The place was not yet super crowded either, this was early like 6pm, maybe it was 1/2 full. Our server was a nice kid, very friendly. He did a great job once he was "told" people were at his table. Our drinks (beer / wine) came out slowish too. Otherwise he did an excellent job and was tipped 20+ % So the how is the food? Not great. I'd give it more like 2.5 stars. Fries were cold and seemed to be sitting out, not fresh cut. My chicken sandwich was tiny and not very flavorful. Bun was soggy too. My sisters like their chicken quesdillas, but again I thought they were tiny and not much chicken. Cesar salad was decent. My kids Mac and Cheese was actually pretty good just needed salt. The view from the dinning area is beautiful though. If you want to come in for an amazing view, some beers and some bar food then you probably will be happy, so long as you can stand the mild dank smell. One last thing, the mens bathroom was absolutely filthy. Yes, it was a holiday weekend and the outside area was packed but still no excuse. They need to have a kid in there every hour cleaning it. With the right manager and some tweaks this place could really be solid but for now we won't be back.
