Ok, a few locals from Arrowhead raved about this place, so we had to check it out for ourselves. So nice to have a new place in the area. Super nice folks that greet and take care of you. Lots of really comfy booths. I wanted to try the molcajetes with the shrimp, chicken, and steak. It's big enough to share! That thing comes out steaming and gorgeous. Honestly, I loved the sauce and queso best. The chorizo is nice. Of the others, I think I liked the shrimp best, though the chicken had great flavor. Nice fresh smaller tortillas are the real deal, too. We had the side of guacamole. Very nice. I want more next time. We ordered the rice a beans side. So good, I think we'll get two orders next time. We added the carne asada to the nachos. That green sauce on the side is great! I prefer the carne in thin slices. Yea, we still had leftovers! Nice brews on tap. read more

Let's just say the rain was pouring down ... a soaking rain and the choices at this junction of interstate highway exits was fast food, convenience food and Diego Rivera where we could sit in a comfortable dining room. Obviously, we chose Diego and it was the right choice!! A mid-afternoon Sunday in May is not a busy time for Poconos restaurants so the parking lot was empty but we were greeted with warmth and smiles as the rain water dripped from our clothes and hair (Thank goodness for their cloth napkins!). Since tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and there are plans for feasting on the holiday the choice for this rainy day was Diego's "Goat Burger." It was an AWESOME and flavorful burger the goat cheese melted throughout the huge burger patty only enhanced each bite. It's the best burger I have had in some time covered with a really great sesame seed bun (Looking out through the window as the rain poured down I could see that familar yellow arch thinking what a fantastic relaxing experience this was compared to burgers in a bag ). Service was great throughout... our waiter did his best to add dessert to the order but the road called however I cross this intersection periodically and next time ole... I was looking forward to eating here given an alluringly decorated location, but was very unpleasantly surprised by a 45 minute wait for a burrito and a molcajete! We asked the waitress for an update and didn't get any news. Maybe some chips and salsa for the table would have abated the issue, but even this seemed to be unobtainable. I wouldn't come here unless you can afford to be forgotten. Molcajete was decent, but not worth the steep price tag - and to make matters worse, my burrito came out on a half empty plate, with cold, congealed cheese and flavorless white rice, nary a sprig of cilantro, or even a dash of salt or pepper. I wish I could say the food was worth either the price or the wait, but truly there was nothing good about this experience. This place was fantastic! I came across it on here when my friends and I were trying to find a spot around Lake Harmony. The reviews were good, so we decided to give it a shot. We're so glad we did! We drove up and were worried when we saw it was attached to a hotel. We figured it can't be that good, but we were wrong. The whole experience was fantastic! Our server was a young man named Alejandro. He was awesome! He took care of our group of 7 and didn't miss a beat. Seriously amazing service, plus, I had the most amazing horchata and he mentioned he made it himself that morning. So good!! When we looked at the prices, we were a bit alarmed. They seemed high at first. It was like $23 for 3 tacos, but honestly, worth every penny. Wow, just wow! Having lived in Texas for over a decade, we've a standing aversion for Mexican restaurants in the tristate area and we usually stick with other options. But boy, did this place deliver! First great margaritas, just like Texas. I had the Cadillac margarita. As a vegetarian, they had excellent vegetarian enchiladas and plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Hubby got steak and shrimp fajitas and he loved them! Kids menu was excellent with authentic chicken tacos and quesadillas which they finished. For dessert, we got tres leches and the kids polished it off and we only got a couple of bites - best we had outside of Texas. Place had excellent service with a single server who was pleasant and delivered! They had a game room that the kids loved, and the server even helped them get setup which they loved, the place was surprisingly empty despite the gourmet quality food and drinks. If this place wasn't 2 hours away, this would be on the routine circuit for us. Don't overthink, you'll love the place! Prices are slightly higher, but the high quality warrants it. Where to start? First of all, my family and I are regular visitors to the Poconos throughout the year. We usually stay right across the street from here. They just opened up not too long ago. My wife and I remember the spot that used to be here before, and let me tell you, we had a really bad experience there -- probably why it closed down. Thankfully, this great authentic Mexican restaurant opened up right after. And let me tell you, I'm so glad they did! We came in with the family for dinner, and even though the place was packed, we still had the best experience. Service: First class. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Food: Don't even get me started -- it was amazing. They make their own homemade tortillas for their tacos, and that alone should tell you everything. I had the steak fajitas, my wife had the mixed fajitas (steak, chicken, and shrimp), and my kids enjoyed steak and chicken tacos. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. As a bonus, the server brought out a complimentary cream of corn topped with queso fresco for us to try -- and it was absolutely delicious. Overall: Diego Rivera Mexican Cuisine is a game-changer for the area. Authentic flavors, top-notch service, and a warm atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is an oasis of good food in rural Pennsylvania at a convenient location off of I-80. My wife and I split the tinga de pollo enchiladas and an order of the charred corn. For enchiladas come in one order. The side was a small order of white rice, and they could develop the sides into a tastier and more prominent role. This is not Tex-Mex but actual Mexican recipes. My wife and I were told about Diego Rivera by the staff of The Holiday Inn that neighbors the restaurant. The food was delicious and very fresh. We got the steak and shrimp fajitas and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Generous portion, the steak and shrimp were of a high quality and peppers (orange, red and green) with sautéed onions all perfectly cooked. The rice and beans were also delicious. Came here from our hotel after a day of skiing at Jack Frost. Classic Mexican done right, generous portions, and wonderful service. The place itself is right next to a comfort inn so it's not easy to see but if you're in the area and want a good meal and margarita after a long day of skiing come here. For desert we shared the bread pudding , which we had to take 3/4 of it home with us, we were stuffed. After an hour with no update, we asked about our order and found out the waitress had completely forgotten to place both the food and drink orders. She was very rude when we asked again, saying, "you're looking at me like you're going to eat me," even though it was her mistake. Loved this authentic gem tucked into a Comfort Inn just off the PA Turnpike exit at Route 940. Our group of seven enjoyed everything from the warm welcome to the heartfelt hospitality. Just visited Diego Rivera's today for the first time. Greatly enjoyed a Burrito carnitas. Everything is made fresh by each order including drinks - they use no short-cuts whatsoever. This is the reason it may take a little longer to get your food and drinks. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is clean too. I will be back. read more
