I braved the cold to go out for dinner at The Sunset Green Restaurant in Lake Harmony and I'm very happy I did. I had delicious fish and chips a large portion of crispy batter dipped fish and shoestring French fries, creamy Cole slaw and tangy tartar sauce and fresh lemon wedges. They had malt vinegar to sprinkle on my fish and fries just like in a British Fish and Chips Restaurant. The service staff was very pleasant and informative, thanks Nichole GREAT JOB, Fresh Brewed Coffee was delicious and served piping hot the way I like it. Come here for an awesome dining experience! The food is spectacular. The filet minion special was amazing and I wish it was a part of their regular menu. I also really enjoyed the Chicken BLT and the Taco Salad. Overall, I love the food here and would highly recommend it. I have only ever sat at the bar but our bartenders - Bobby and Lynn - were very fun and treated us very well. It has been pretty quiet every time I have been here. Haven't written a Yelp review in a long time, but I need to write one for this spot. My family and I came here today (7/6/23) for a nice lunch out and the waitress was very attentive. She was covering the entire restaurant and bar and our service never faltered. The food was great. We had the Brussels sprouts, the coconut shrimp, my son had the grilled chicken on the kids menu which was a very good portion. I'm not sure what this place is like on weekends but on a semi-busy Thursday, this place was great and we'll be back next time we're in the area. read more

Shocking bad. Bad service. Bad food. High prices for bad food and bad service. This is probably the worst restaurant I've eaten in in quite some time. We arrived at 8 on a Friday night. The place was lovely and we were excited. We're a family of 4: mom, dad 9&7 yr old boys. We were all hungry. They immediately gave us a little bread that was delicious. After asking 3 times for more bread they brought out a few more pieces. Our first round of drinks came in a timely manor and so did the salad that came with my meal. Thirty minutes after we sat down we received 2 out of the 3 appetizers we ordered. My brussel sprouts with bacon and blue cheese were cold. When I went to dig in, my entire plate was made of the discarded leaves that fall off the sprouts while cooking. I doubt there was more than 6 tiny pieces of actual vegetables on my plate. I had to send it back and ask them to take it off our check. Another 20+ minutes later, our main courses arrived. My husband never received the second beer he ordered. We asked for more bread over and over again but none arrived. Two of our dishes were swimming in oil. None of the dishes tasted good. We've had much better meals at diners. The service was AWFUL. I had to flag down someone to get some more water. My husband ordered a second beer that never arrived. They took my knife and fork with my salad plate but never replaced them. I had to ask for new utensils, twice. A terribly disappointing meal and a waste of 2 hours. STAY AWAY. read more

I came here last weekend with some friends to celebrate a birthday and I'm so glad I did! The scenery was beautiful! We sat outside and ate just in time for the sunset. The servers were very attentive and helpful. There was a young girl who was always happy to refill our waters, she was so sweet! All of the food was wonderful. I loved the calamari and Cesar salad. I'm really pleased with the experience we had here and I would definitely recommend coming here. Wanting to try something new on our annual Summer mountain vacation, this place had some nice reviews on google and open table so we thought we'd give it a try. We didn't realize that the restaurant is part of the Split Rock golf course; getting there takes you on a nice drive through the property. The restaurant is on the second floor but there is easy elevator access. Specials were written on a board at the bottom of the steps (if they were at the top, we missed them) and there were a few things we didn't see until we left that we may have liked. The menu is made up of non-complicated fare, but there are a ton of choices and everything we had was on point. I had the tequila shrimp appetizer, and it was so, so deeply flavored. Not overly spicy, but perfectly garlicky, sweet and tangy. It came with bread to dip that was also well-prepared. My father and 6 year old each got the clam chowder, and my dad said it was the best he'd had: creamy, full of clams, and very flavorful.My daughter, who is 8 in a 35 year old's body, ordered the strip steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables, rare, and my mother in law got the same, medium. Both steaks came out beautifully cooked, and the vegetables were delish: butterly, slightly sweet, perfectly seasoned. My mom had the special: filet with mushrooms and a black peppercorn cream sauce on the side, and it was also cooked perfectly. I had a simple ceasar salad with grilled chicken and it was awesome: SO much perfectly cooked and simply seasoned chicken! The dressing was also tasty. Not sure if it was house made, but it was definitely not your typical bottled. My husband had a lobster burger (a burger with lobster meat on top with thermador sauce - burger was very slightly overcooked but that did not ruin the enjoyment of the burger for him) and it came with shoestring fries which were salted and seasoned nicely. The highlight of the evening was when they allowed us to take our coffee to a new table out on the deck. While the floor to ceiling windows give almost every table a beautiful sunset view, outside was breathtaking. The coffee was strong and not bitter, the sunset was gorgeous, and the service was great! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. We found this place while staying at the overrated Split Rock "resort". We started with the lamb lollipops and they came out rare. We sent it back as it was not even edible. We then ordered the stuffed chicken with vegetables and "rice". It was actually quinoa when it arrived and it was cold. We also ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes and vegetables. This came out cold as well. We were just over it at this point but the manager, Shelley, sensed our displeasure and came over to ask if everything was ok. We advised her of what transpired and she said "we've had over 100 orders today and nothing was sent back so I don't know what's going on here". We showed her the receipt to show we were still charged for the food we did not even eat and she proceeded to snatch it out of my hand with an attitude to go take the meal of the bill. We were very surprised of her behavior especially for a manager! The food was bland at best and to make it worse it was cold. Overpriced and underwhelming restaurant, I cannot understand how these businesses stay open with this kind of incompetence. Safe to say, we will not be returning to this establishment. This was One of the worst experiences I have had lately. Everything started out good. the appetizers were good and we got our first round of drinks in a timely fashion. The waitress did not come back to ever ask us if we wanted a second round of drinks or water refills.I find that this restaurant employees very young waitstaff who is not experienced at all. We all were served our meals but my one friends meal did not come out with the rest of ours. We asked what was going on in the waitressed was checking in on it. It was about 15 minutes and we asked to speak to the manager since she still had not received a meal. The owner came over and was very unapologetic. She was almost annoyed at the fact we were wondering where my friends meal was. she stated that she was short staffed, that the chef came down with Covid so she didn't have a proper chef and never once apologized for the delay and she said what do you want me to do We were all finished our dinners and then my friends meal finally arrived and it was mediocre at best. I do not recommend this restaurant. the service is terrible and it was an excusable how the owner spoke to us. read more

We heard such great reviews about this place so we made reservations for a sunset dinner. The front entrance has a sign stating the smoke free policy, unfortunately they still allow smoking on the veranda where we were seated. We would prefer a 100% smoke-free experience. The service was pretty good, and the food was comparable to a good diner in terms of quality, with nicely sized portions. The restaurant was less than 1/4 full on a Monday evening. The grilled salmon was tasty, but was a bit dry. It came with delicious lump crab meat which really made the dish. The shrimp and scallops pappardelle was also very tasty. The scallops were a bit gritty, and should have been washed better, but they and the shrimp were both cooked perfectly. The French martini, and Long Island iced tea were very nice. We were too full for any desert, but we stayed and enjoyed a great sunset view. The one major improvement this facility should make is the addition of an electric car charger. They are targeting a certain income bracket, and those same people are buying and driving electric cars. We didn't NEED to charge this time, but if you don't prepare for the future (electric cars), it's going to pass you by, and customers will go elsewhere. read more

As if being seated at this dated wannabe countryclub was some kind of privelege! Our server was very nice, however it took ABSURD amounts of time to get our drinks and food. The place was NOT busy, but still couldn't manage to turn out food and drinks in a reasonable amount of time. Our server kept apologizing for all the waiting, but by the end I really didn't have any sympathy for him. Especially when we were waiting for our check for over ten minutes and he decides to stand around at the wait-station, BSing with the hostess who was complaining to another table nearby about not getting to see her kids all day. You're at work and I'm a paying customer-I don't want to hear your sob stories! Especially when it took almost three hours for a frickin dinner! I have never done this before, but I almost just left without paying, it was that ridiculous. I don't know who the owners are, but I hope you're reading this and I hope you get your staff together. I have been coming to Split Rock for almost 20 years and only recently found this place by mistake but this visit we actually ate there. It was delicious I had the special which was a chicken Marsala type dish. My husband had a seafood pasta dish. Another couple with us ate a steak dinner and chicken pot pie. The steak was a very good portion. My husband and I enjoyed our meal as we watched the sunset. We all took pictures. Our waitress was attentive but did talk a little fast. We waited extra long for one drink but the rest of the drinks arrived quickly. The prices were slightly higher but the style of the restaurant warranted it i assume. We felt the dessert menu was reasonably priced and our desserts were delicious. We took home our remaining meals in environmentally friendly to go containers.
